Star Wars Legacy which has often been reviewed here on ShowMeScifi is one of the best comic books today and likely the best Star Wars comic book series ever created.

Set far beyond any other Star Wars series -the only lineage connection we’ve had so far is Cade Skywalker – a descendant of Luke.

But what about other Star Wars family trees? Dark Horse Editor Randy Stradley recently tackled that topic in a letter to the editor q&a.

1. Are we going to learn what happened to the Solo family of this time?

There are no plans for an exploration of the Solo lineage for the forseeable future. We’re not in denial about them, it’s just that there isn’t a place for them in the story. Yet.

2. Any chance of running into any other descendents of of any other Star Wars Characters?

Oh yes my friend. Oh, yes.

4. How long are we going to have to wait until we learn who Darth Krayt is under the mask?

The answer will be revealed in issue 15.

Jacen Solo is set to become a to be named Sith in the upcoming Star Wars Legacy of the Force Sacrifice book .

My guess is that Darth Krayt is a descendant of Jacen Solo.

Anyone want to take that bet?

Well it couldn’t be an evil clone of Obi-Wan. In the Thrawn Trilogy, Joruus C’Boath was originally going to be a dark side clone of Obi-Wan, but George Lucas put his foot down on that one, so Timothy Zahn then created C’Boath. If Lucas didn’t allow it then, it’s hard to believe he would allow it now.

4. Star Wars Legacy #13 Emperor Roan Fel KICKS Sith tail « Show Me SciFi - June 14, 2007

[…] the Fel dynasty and it explains that Emperor Roan Fel is in fact a descendant of Han and Leia Solo. So.. my original guess that Darth Krayt was a descendant of Solo is likely wrong […]

I’m thinking that the battle that they say Obi Wan was in, in Legacy was a battle involving tusken raiders and that tusken raider jedi A Shard Hett was in it. Im starting to think he is Darth Krayt.

By the maker!! Excellent banter over the last 2 months. I have some thoughts on my own.

First, John and Jan continue to give us clues in the text and Randy in the letters section. First, this stasis business opens the door for just about anybody we know the the universe. Next, when DK says he should have ended the line when he had the chance, he implies that he is someone who at one time had close contact with either Anakin or Luke. Finally, the cybernetic implant.

I think that all of the clone ideas will not pan out. First, this doesn’t seem to be John and Jan’s style for a number of reasons. First, they didn’t focus any of their previous Republic stories on the issue of cloning. Besides, hasn’t that plot twist been beaten to death (Joruus, Luuke, palpatine). Second, I think that John and Jan will choose someone that they have worked with in the past; some Dark Horse created character. Yes I know that puts us back into the clone wars but remember not only the stasis business but the quote made to Darth Nihilus and Darth Andeddu while DK activated the sith holocran. DK was very intrigued with cheating death. If he was about 150+ years old, he would have to be interested in this topic. So, as a result of these clues, here are the non contenders:
any clones are out
No Jacen: He’s Darth Cadues, why take two sith names??
No Ben: not a dark horse creation
No Daye Azur-Jamin: although a very interesting character and theory, he isn’t a dark horse guy.

Now the real contenders:
Tholme: strong jedi, cybernetic eye, no love for the “rule of two” sith (Dooku whooped his butt and scarred him), John and Jan character, and ties to Quinlan Vos (I’ll get to that later). About the fact Tholme would be an old ass man; Tholme’s love interest was Tra Saa, a being that could live far longer than humans. Perhaps Tholme got greedy and like Anakin searched for a way to stay alive so he could live with Tra Saa. This quest for forbidden knowledge may have turned him to the dark side. Also, Tholme has many Qui-Gon-like characteristics, including somewhat of a maverick edge. He let Quin infiltrate Dooku’s camp knwing the possible consequences. Not your straight laced jedi. Also, Quin’s presence is going to be made in this series. A certain pirate looks a heck of alot like good old Quin. Jariah Syn’s hate for the jedi has got to have a backstory. Maybe he’s rebelling against his own legacy. This would certainly make room for a Tholme connection, trying to not only get the heir of the Skywalkers, but also of the Vos lineage to turn to the dark side. Remember, it was stated that the title Legacy does not only refer to the Skywalker legacy. If you’ve read John and Jan’s Republic comics, you know that there are going to be some major twists, turns, and cliffhangers.

Next, A’Sharad Hett. Tatooine-Krayt Dragon connection. Facial tatoos, double saber fighting style, legacy of his own concerning a jedi family. Now I’ve heard people say that A’Sharad is a benchwarmer in the Star Wars universe. Well this could be the time he takes center stage. Personally, I’m ready for stories about other major playres other than Anakin, Luke, Leia, Han, and their kin. It’s time to explore the infinite possibilities of the Star Wars universe. In the Outlander stroy arc, it is inferred that A’sharad’s father Sharad Hett was a bad ass Jedi. Unfortunately, all we get of him is some flash back material and some exposure as a tusken. He sounds like he was a very aggressive warrior, and we know where aggression leads.

Tholme would lead to more interesting plot twists but I’d like to see him stay a good guy. A’Sharad I can see as a bad ass warrior like his father, using aggression and even the dark side for self affirming good intentions.

Legacy #13 does indeed confirm that Emperor Roan Fel is a descendant of Han and Leia. More importantly, this in turn confirms that Jaina and Jag do indeed “hook up” and have at least one child. Whether the child is legitimate or not remains to be seen. Very interesting stuff.

I am saying with 100% certainty, as of right now, that I NOW believe that Krayt is A’Sharad Hett. Mostly because he had “opportunities” to end the Skywalker legacy in the past. Before I was totally convinced that it was Ben. But the more I read the LOTF books, I am beginning to see that Ben ends up being Jacen’s salvation and saving grace. I think Ben will end up leading Jacen back to the light, although it could be on Jacen’s deathbed (i.e. Luke and Anakin).

Plus, as Darth Magnus said, Ben is not a Dark Horse character. What he says about Jariah’s possible heritage is very intriguing and could very well end up being absolutely true…

Really good therois Darth Magnus. I am really thinking its Hett. Remeber when him and Anakin were stuck on that planet and Anakin had a freak out and revealed to him what he did to those tusken raiders? I doubt that made Hett super mad, but still he could of killed Anakin right there for what he did because he is a tusken and tuskens seem like the vengence taking people to me. Plus on that Legacy #17(I think its issue 17) issue cover and the summary it says Obi Wan fought a very important battle. If that battle was on Tatooine (sorry about spelling) Mark my words it will have Hett in it. Maybe some Vong too and thats not a stretch far because advanced Vong agents were active during the Clone Wars.

However, whoever DK is it is important to note that the Vong War affected him deeply some way. DK incorporates way to much Vong for him not to be someone not deeply affected by the war. Wether how he was affected was bad or good. Also can someone tell me how it reveals that Roan Fel is a Solo decedant? I havent read the issue but i would still like to know.

A’Sharad Hett. being darth Krayt??, well its a close resemblance, but unless he did change his tatoos, then maybe, but it could also be unlikey, but again we shall see who it really is if Krayts former Identity is revealed.

I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned him, but as just a thought: Sifo-Dyas? He had a great ability to see into the future and after Dooku killed him, he froze his body. Then allegedly used his blood for a transfusion into Grievous.

Due to the fact that Sifo-Dyas had begun to make a clone army to prepare for a coming war — something questionable for a Jedi to do — it shows his willingness to do what must be done to protect the galaxy. Seems to fit well.
