The first Knight Rider car (KITT) was of course a Pontiac Firebird …you remember the early 80’s one with the pop up lights!
The new Knight Rider for the re-imagined series?
Well it’s not a Firebird (they don’t make them anymore)
It’s not one of the new Camaro’s (that actually debuted in Transformers)
It’s actually the Firebird/Camaro’s mortal enemy
Yup it’s a MUSTANG.

For over 70 years, children young and old have seen The Wizard of Oz.
This weekend SciFi is taking a new angle on the timeless classic with Tin Man..and to be honest so far it doesn’t look like it’s fit for children at all…(and that’s fine by me).
Instead of calling it Oz…they call it the ‘O’ Z. It’s darker..and Kansas isn’t something out of 50’s.
The Wizard is Richard Dreyfuss and instead of being a midget he’s just a nutcase. Instead of Dorothy – we get DG. Instead of a literal Tin Man we get an Android type and instead of an evil ugly wicked witch..we get a gorgeous witch (still wicked though).
And it sure doesn’t look like a musical either.
I suppose that you could argue that the Technicolor version of Wizard of Oz was too ‘happy’ and didn’t stick to the original novel..then again that was the golden era of hollywood and the Wizard of Oz is one of its gold gems.
Will Tin Man be a classic? Not likely..70 years of history is difficult to compete against…but hey it sure does look to be entertaining…It’s on this weekend on SciFi no word yet on when a DVD version will be stores.

We’re still many months away from the official release of Star Wars The Force Unleashed…but it looks like the people at Lego have already got the jump.
They’ve already got a version of Vader’s ship from the new game – called Rogue Shadow (any relation to Rogue Squadron??)
It looks like a halfway ship between Anakin’s JediStar Fighter in Episode III and Vader’s Advanced Tie from Episode IV.
Hard to tell sometimes with Lego..but clearly this is a ship built for speed.
I guess when you’re Vader you don’t have as much need for shields…(or do you?).

Bender’s Big Score! a 90 minute direct-to-DVD film is now out! Apparently it will be cut up into the first four episodes of the new season in 2008.
Finally after years of reruns…new Futurama…has there ever been a better cartoon SciFi show?
Jetsons? no way. Star Trek animated ..naaaw..Star Wars clone wars (not bad..but Futurama is funny!).
If you’re a SciFi fan and you’ve got a sense of humor…how could you not like Futurama?
Ohhhh and while I STRONGLY recommend buying the whole DVD..here’s a 4 minute taste that takes aim, “at the brainless drones” that cancelled Futurama in the first place. Just brilliant.

It’s here! And I got mine!!!!
Since this is the last Legacy of the Force book until 2008, I’ll likely take a couple of weeks to enjoy this one and will post a review (as always) when done.
Apparently this book is doing real well already…my local bookseller sold out of them.. but had put one aside for me.
Is Legacy of the Force the best Star Wars series ever? Well so far so GREAT…and now I’m off to read Fury…..

Need some soya sauce for your Sushi – well then why not enlist the help of everyone’s favorite astromech droid R2-D2.
Perhaps the only thing funnier than actually having one of these little units..is the text on the Japanese web site that sells these little droids.
Ever dreamed to go space journy with your R2??
Unfortunately, such a dream can’t be true at the moment.
But now this tiny R2D2 can serve you Soy Sauce by your one-hand little move, leaning the R2 body a little to put appropriate Soy Sauce on Chinese or Japanese fried rice.
I don’t know, R2 D2 is handy and all but leaking fluid from a mechanical object isn’t exactly something that the health department is likely to approve.
Oh and hey these aren’t available on store shelves…if you want one you’ll have to check out the english language version of the Japanese vendor’s site…
Last Episode of Journeyman on Tonight? November 26, 2007

When we first heard about Journeyman it sounded like a decent concept..a time travelling dude trying to fix wrongs.
It sounded a bit like Quantum Leap…problem is ..that it wasn’t Quantam Leap. The show just never had legs and just didn’t make sense. Sure speculative fiction can take leaps but if you’re audience isn’t clued in..what’s the point?
Word is now that Journeyman is set to be canceled with its 12th episode.
“Episode 12 is the end of our order,” Falls told the Premium Hollywood Website . “And let’s not kid ourselves. It’s a long shot that we would get a back nine, given the strike and our questionable numbers.”
The final episode could well finally solve the big question that Journeyman revolves around though..that is..why is he travelling in the first place and what does his ex-wife have to do with it?
Oh and Journeyman airs tonight Monday November 26th…there is yet another rumor out there that suggests that the show might not even get aired past tonight…we’ll see.

Star Wars Death Star – Review November 23, 2007

Star Wars Death Star is one of the best Star Wars books ever written and was the most enjoyable Star Wars tale I’ve read in many years.
There are alot of books in the Expanded Star Wars Universe…for the most part you need to read a bunch of them to get into any one particular series. Death Star plugs into the Star Wars timeline right at the point of A New Hope..so the basic environment is well known.
Since 1977 the Death Star has been the most feared weapon in the Empire and its fate has also been known. But how was it constructed? Who was the man the pulled the trigger to destroy Alderaan? What about the people that were on the Death Star itself when in blew?
Just awesome…and though we know how it ends up..the way the authors weave the tale in with dialogue and plot from A New Hope itself is simply brilliant.
On a station the size of a small moon there are alot of people and they all have a story to tell…finally we get to hear/read those stories…and not just the machinations of Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin.
To say that this is a must read would be an understatement. This book should be REQUIRED reading for anyone that considers themselves to be a true Star Wars fan.

Available to order now through Play.com, this third-party accessory includes a power up / down that makes the blade glow.
.i would guess that it’ll work well with Star Wars Lego…but the real test will be The Force Unleashed that doesn’t show up until 2008.
The Wii-Saber isn’t available just yet…but you won’t have too wait too long. Play.com has availability set for November 30th.

We’ll hold out till we have a bona fide copy…
BUT

A new story arc takes shape and it looks real good so far. A series of terrorist attacks takes place across the colonies, and the Battlestar Galactica is in charge of the investigation. A nice multi-threaded story with decent art, dialogue and action.
I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again – while Mr. Moore decides on when Season 4 will ever show up (and the awesomeness of Razor aside). Dynamites Battlestar Galactica comics are really great avenue to get your BSG fix.
Pacing follows a BSG TV episode.
Characters are the same.
Plots could easily have fallen out of Mr. Moore’s own script book too.

Star Trek Conquest is now out letting us t ake control of Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Cardassian, Dominion, and Breen forces and lead them in a campaign to control the Galaxy, one planet at a time.
You can build and manage your growing empire in turn-based strategy, fully utilizing the Wii Remote™ as you select and maneuver your Starships throughout the large, galactic map…Once battle is initiated, Conquest switches to a ship level tactical view allowing direct command of your ships as you engage in real-time combat. While maneuvering your Starship with the Nunchuk™, you can take direct aim and fire away with the Wii Remote.

The trailer though looks real slick…

Ben Cross has been cast as Sarek, the Vulcan father of Spock.
Sarek was first played by Mark Lenard in the original series and subsequent movies. As all good Trek Triva buffs know Lenard was actually a Romulan commander too…
Cross will play opposite Winona Ryder – his human wife – while Zachary Quinto is Spock. Star Trek XI is set for an Xmas 2008 and is now in full production.

Another neat twist.
So now Atlantis is working with the Wraith to help stop the Replicators who have now turned on the humans of the Pegasus Galaxy (to cut off the Wraiths food supply).
Great stuff and it bring back another Wraith (not Michael) that Sheppard can deal with.
Col. Carter’s handling of Wolesly in this episode though was really bad..she came off really weak and not at all like the leader she should be. So far Carter hasn’t made that much of an impression – hopefully that will change before this season is done.

From the first 2 minute flashback to this – the last 2 minute Battlestar Galactica Razor Flashback – this has been 14 full minutes of frakking awesome good SciFi.
We’ve never known the suddenness of how the first Cylon War ended – now we do. The preview also has all kind of hidden meaning and Adama’s discovery of the human prisoners is likely somehow related to the new biological cylons.
If you haven’t seen it yet ENJOY. The DVD version of Razor should have all this on it (plus a few extras) but for now..this will do…

What better way to watch SciFi than from the bridge of the Enterprise? After all the front of the bridge is a viewscreen and the entire command crew is oriented towards it…it’s just a big home theater in space.
Not so fast..apparently some dude has modeled it as a real home theater. No word yet on whether he’s going to sell it (like the Star Trek apartment dude in the UK -).
For the full story check out Electronic House.
Bionic Woman 1×7 Trust Issues. Time To Quit This Show. November 15, 2007

That’s it. ShowMeSciFi.com is now officially done with Bionic Woman. This week’s episode ‘Trust Issues’ was yet another weakly plotted story that was poorly acted and directed.
It’s great that Jamie has a love interest – it’s dumb the cliched lines/scenarios they are put into. The death of Antonio in the mirror version of the plot is such a weak plot tool…it’s enough to think that this episode was written by scabs and not a member of the WGA.
The show started out with high hopes but it just hasn’t shaped up. Jamie’s use of Bionic’s isn’t properly played up with proper special fx or sounds, plots are weak and there isn’t proper overall large plot issues to make anyone want to really watch this show week to week.
Michelle Ryan is great – it’s unfortunate that the writers and the producers of this show have failed her – and her fans – so very miserably.
Adieu Bionic Woman – it was fun for a bit but now you’re just lame.
