I found myself in New York City for work this week – and hey it’s new comics Wednesday so I headed to Midtown Comics on 40th and 7th Ave in Times Square.

BUSY BUSY BUSY – and this was in the middle of a freaking snow storm too.

More comics than my local home town seller that’s for sure…but something was missing.

I bought a large stash of comics (including many that i’ll end up reviewing on ShowMeSciFi) but NO BAG AND BOARD!

Maybe i’m spoiled or something but i’m used to getting a bag and board with all new comics. It’s just part of the service.

So Midtown comics…nice store lots of stuff but you guys SUCK and fail in my book for real comic customer service. Show some respect and bag and board your comics and respect that your customers are collectors and not children.

Well i have to say most stores i go to now a days don’t bag and board comics for you any more. I visit Mid-Town a couple of times a year and the business they have is amazing. the place is never empty. The amount of bags and boards they would have to “give” would be like throwing money out the window. Smaller shops may be able to do this because they don’t have a much business but a store like midtown wold be throwing so much money way on those supplies. I suspose you would say they sucked too if they had an extra charge for them also. Nothing is free in our world, and Mid Town is one of the best stores i have ever been to.

Next time you come here to New York, pay a visit to the St. Mark’s area on the lower East side. There are tons of comic book stores down there!

I’ve never seen a comic store bag and board individual comics unless it’s something off their high end backstock rack. Plus they make a good size profit for them when you buy the supplies yourself.

What about the possibility of pulling out of Iraq, letting Iran invade and lose resources fighting their own kind,
and then come in and mop up the dregs?

Hey Schmuck: wake up. No store bags and boards comics. If you’re that anal, you’ll have to buy the bags and boards and do it yourself. As for me, I only buy comics to read them. I never bag and board them unless it’s a vintage key issue.
