Fringe Season 5: Why We Hope It will Be the Best Season EVER September 26, 2012

Yes we loved the first three seasons of Fringe.

We did not like (most of) Season 4 though – it just didn’t make sense – did it?

that’s why we can’t hardly wait for Season 5 to get started…it has a chance to right the wrongs of Season4 and end this show on string of awesomeness.

The first three seasons were all about the ‘pattern’ the alternate universe and closing the gap. The fourth was about….? what? it was all over the place. If the show had ended right at the end of the third season it would have worked for us.

But the show still has legs, Walter is still an amazing character (as are peter and olivia) and the future world where Peter has just been thawed out from the amber that Season 4 will be all about is really really cool.

here’s our first sneak peak at the first episode and it’s looking sharp. Fringe, Season 5 – Fringe starts this Friday.

Terra Nova CANCELLED!!! FRAK YOU FOX!!!! March 6, 2012

No surprise is it?
THE FRAKKERS AT FOX HAVE CANCELLED TERRA NOVA.

Remember these are the same douche bags that cancelled Firefly and the same scum bantha poodo that keep Fringe on the air (wtf happened to Fringe? that show is unwatchable now). and hey a year ago we predicted that Fox would do this – cause after that’s what they do, they cancel great shows.

Terra Nova was just starting to get good too.

the final episode of season 1 however wasn’t a cliffhanger, it was a decent (though not complete)  ending.

Hope Plaza was destroyed – though we did have that mystery…of how a ship for Earth’s past was found in pre-history – we guessed that it was just the Bermuda Triangle, but now we’ll never know..

Unless of course we get Terra Nova in novel or comic book form…

Terra Nova: What Lies in the Badlands? It’s the BERMUDA TRIANGLE PEOPLE!! December 27, 2011

Terra Nova’s first (and likely last) season is now done. The two hours season/series finale was a fun tour-de-force with all the great element that make this show work.

dinosaurs, heroism, a little sexual tension..the dad that won’t leave his kids..

But let’s cut to the chase…

What is in the Badlands? They found the remains of an 18th century ship?…and the Phoenix people all run to it when they thought they were cut off from the future?

It has to be the BERMUDA TRIANGLE or some other kind of second gate/portal to the future.

Yeaah it’s that obvious.

Ok so now we know what Terra Nova is all about.

Col. Taylor had to kill his own commanding officer in order to preserve the ‘Hope’ of Terra Nova, as a new birthplace for mankind, when the reality is that it was just supposed to be a resource for the future to pillage.

We also finally understand that the Taylor’s son is the one behind the drawings on the cliff and the only one that really knows how to create a two way bridge to the future.

Sure this show progresses at a sometimes painfully slow pace, but it’s still entertaining and slowly but surely the plot is thickening. What’s not clear though is whether or not FOX has the cojones to keep this show on the air..remember this is the network that cancelled Firefly after all.

Long story short, we like Terra Nova.

The characters are real, the acting is great and the show holds our attention for the hour that it’s on every week.

We\ve got some decent insight into the workings of the colony in the 4 episodes we’ve seen so far..and lots of good stories about the ppl that live there.
We know about the sixers, but we don’t know what their deal is. We know that they can communicate with the future but we still have no idea what their beef is with Taylor.

As for the future..except for the first episode we’ve seen nothing. Let’s hope we see some future flashes soooner rather than later.

and PLEASE FOX DON’T SCREW THIS UP!!

how does Sam Wise know so much? There are multiple SAMs too?
The bigger shift is the idea that Olivia is the key to unlock the machine..we had forgotten that episode where she shut off the lights with her mind ..
But what happened inside the machine? Is that a vision of the future it sure looked a lot like Dollhouse’s epitaph

Walternate always has some grt lines. “I chose to give up my son, so you can keep yours.”

Dodgers still playing in Ebbets Field..against th expos? The Montreal Expos?

What happens now to baby henry, with fauxolivia in a holding cell?

And what is the deal with Sam? Who, or what is he?

sure it was a neat effect to have Walter, Peter and belly as animated characters, but why?
And is belly really dead? Or will he be brought back by another set of soul magnets?

In any event it’s to great to have Olivia back, though it was kinda fun to have her talk with the Leanord Nimoy voice

The whole episode we trying guess who was behind Olivia’s abduction..

We knew it could be the Watcher…

AMAZING twist that it was Walternate…

So what was the Watcher waiting for?

Here’s our theory – FauxOlivia’s baby is actually the boy that is supposed to power the machine – not his dad Peter.

And hey good news! FOX has renewed Fringe for another season.

Caprica’s Amanda Graystone – aka actress Paula Malcomsom does a fine role playing another tortured sole in Fringe.

But how did she come back from the dead in the first place? And why was the bomb blast enough to kill her? Was it really her destiny to save everyone on the train?

a bit odd, but hey we loved it.

As for Olivia (ann Torv) doing the Leonard Nimoy William Bell voice — that’s kinda cool…but werid how she’s interested in Astrid.

6 B SO .. all  it took was some sappy old couple for Olivia to give in to Peter..kinda lame…

but was really neat to see where Walter draws the line…no ghosts!! ha …he believes in everything else…but no ghosts..

guess everyone has to draw the line somewhere..

cool though to see both side again..esp with 6 B at the end…but you would have thought that the activity would have alerted Fringe on the other side sooner..

WTF is up with Peter?

Did the weapon really – ‘weaponize’ HIM? Not really clear why he decided to go after the shapeshifters on his own without telling anyone.

Strange thing is that Peter is going bad, just as Olivia is starting to warm up to him – even after FauxLivia.

Ah well – another fine show..with more questions than answers at the end.

#If You Meet the Buddha on the Road, Kill Him! The Pilgrimage of Psychotherapy Patients – yeaah it’s a real book (only $8 at amazon).
This episode of Fringe was like no other – the thread of time travel has never been so well integrated. Sure we’ve had cause and effect before in Fringe..remember the guy that just by dropping a pencil could kill someone?

So now we learn that Peter caught a firefly and the end result was that Rosco Jones son got run over. The boy travels forward 25 yrs and then goes back, calling his dad before he dies to let him know that he traveled forward…astounding.

But what about that final twist?

The observer shooting Peter? then somehow Peter is saved gets a headached, drink the bad milk, thereby saving Walter.

huh?

That said the observers did spell it out for us at the end “..he was willing to let his son die and when the time comes he will do it again.”

Great episode for the 2010 finale –

though it’s unclear to us why that dude wanted to re-animate the dead girl..

but still a neat idea to try and harvest all the organs back to put her back together.

The other side of the story with Olivia getting angry at Peter – that was a bit odd…after all – her partner on the other side, didnt’ know it wasn’t her either. Not even her own mother knew.

Or maybe..Peter just likes the fun loving uber fox from the other side because she’s just so dangerous.a

She’s BAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

After being trapped on the other side for nearly a whole season — our Olivia is back and BOlivia is back to her universe too.

NICE.

Awesome that they used the Tank again — though in season 1 that same tank was used to connect Olivia to her dead boyfriend traitor — then it was all part of figuring out — what is the pattern?  Now that whole pattern plotline is gone…

Still solid stuff, too bad to see Broyles from the other side get toasted but btr than seeing Olivia cut up like a side of beef.

Fringe is a great show, which is why it is so shocking that FOX is killing it off.

Oh they’re not killing it like the cowards at SyFy that cancel a show midway through a season then don’t air the final episode..

No FOX has a special kind of hell for Fringe

The hell called Friday night. No SciFi show ever survives the Friday night timeslot and Fringe won’t be the first.

I don’t know what’s up with this trend for having women from SciFi shows posing in risque positions for men’s magazines.

The latest actress is Fringe’s Agent Olivia Dunham – played by actress Anna Torv.

In this month’s esquire she got a whole spread of topless pics – while wearing mens thermal underwear.

Why? is it really that cold on the set of Fringe?

We don’t know – but if you’re interested –

Here’s the link at Esquire to see the whole thing.

Dollhouse – The Rossum Mainframe is powered by the Attic December 20, 2009

We’ve heard about the Attic from the earliest Dollhouse shows – now we finally know what it’s all about. The Attic Part 2 was one of the finest Dollhouse episodes ever.

Rossum is using ‘unfit dolls’ and enemies of Rossum as human computers – their brains are all connected to power the mainframe – OUTSTANDING.

Meeting the Rossum co-founder – who has been stuck in the attic since 1993 – also neat.

But this was one episode that was also really disturbing – how about that guy stuck in the sushi bar where he had to eat his own legs??? That was repulsive.

On the other hand, the fact that Adele is now onside with bringing down Rossum is also an interesting change of events –

Dollhouse has had its ups and downs but the last four hours worth of episodes have been…well..outstanding. It is  a shame this show has been canceled, but it sure is going out with a bang isn’t it?

Dollhouse is Back (well until it gets cancelled) – and its back with a BANG!!

So Rossum Corp turned one of its dollhouses against the other in a plot to ensure that the dollhouse itself is never exposed.

Amazing.

Topher and Topher as a doll – FUNNY

Summer Glau as the D.C version of Topher – ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT..Summer was awesome.

The complexity of plot in this two episode set was astounding with layer within layer and multiple sub-plot texts underneath. We know have seen our second dollhouse, we’ve now seen that Topher is really nuts..and we know more about Echo/Caroline than we’ve ever known before.

So where does Dollhouse go from here?

Well at some point Ballard will bring the Dollhouse down. At some point Caroline will help him and somewhere along the way Doc Sanders/Whisky and Alpha will return
