Star Wars Legacy which has often been reviewed here on ShowMeScifi is one of the best comic books today and likely the best Star Wars comic book series ever created.

Set far beyond any other Star Wars series -the only lineage connection we’ve had so far is Cade Skywalker – a descendant of Luke.

But what about other Star Wars family trees? Dark Horse Editor Randy Stradley recently tackled that topic in a letter to the editor q&a.

1. Are we going to learn what happened to the Solo family of this time?

There are no plans for an exploration of the Solo lineage for the forseeable future. We’re not in denial about them, it’s just that there isn’t a place for them in the story. Yet.

2. Any chance of running into any other descendents of of any other Star Wars Characters?

Oh yes my friend. Oh, yes.

4. How long are we going to have to wait until we learn who Darth Krayt is under the mask?

The answer will be revealed in issue 15.

Jacen Solo is set to become a to be named Sith in the upcoming Star Wars Legacy of the Force Sacrifice book .

My guess is that Darth Krayt is a descendant of Jacen Solo.

Anyone want to take that bet?

Yeah, I would really like to see A’Sharad (as I will always call him) appear in the series especially with the appearance of “his” order (come on, we KNOW this is the new sith order). Anyway, does anyone else agree with me on the Tahiri comment in post 430? Also she’s got a grandfather who seems to have been a jedi with green eyes, blond hair, after O. 66, chased by stormtroopers. I think this could be Dass Jennir whether or not the eyes match (I wrote the discussion section of “Tahiri Veila’s Grandfather” on Wookiepedia).

Does anyone else hope there will be more to A’Sharad’s tragic fall in future issues? Simply put, there’s got to be. I mean, he’s fighting with his clone troopers, then they turn on him, he senses no more jedi, and, while in pain, he just goes to Tatooine and says “the jedi all died, why should I follow their weak code, yea i don’t have to be a jedi anymore since they’re dead”. Then he becomes some “rebellious brat” like anakin, and kills a bunch of moisture farmers until Obi-Wan whups his butt, and cuts off his arm. Then he makes Hett swear to never return and that’s the end of it. Now I know A’Sharad is going to suffer emotionally and wonder why the heck the jedi were killed, and he can’t be a perfect jedi and say,”this has been a great loss…well they’re with the force, on to meditation.” But still this is A’SHARAD HETT, the wise, perfect, less annoying version of Ferus Olin. And, even though he was 26 in the middle of the clone wars, he always seemed (and looked) like a wise mentor to Anakin, who really had to put up with more crap on the Aargonar mission then he deserved. It just doesn’t seem right to me that of all jedi, he has to fall and lose his mind to the grey/dark side. Especially too after his dying father Sharad Hett makes it his last wish to Ki-Adi-Mundi to train his son in the jedi ways and not to let him be overcome by his anger. It just doesn’t seem right. And also the origin story in 16 didn’t suffice. I could have written a better story than that. I still liked it, and realize they probably had to fit it into one issue, but still I wanted Ash to fight alongside Obi-Wan in something, and have Aurra Sing, or someone, cause Hett so much emotional trauma that he would fall, scream in anguish, and lash out against whoever and THEN have Obi-Wan step in and give the beware the dark side speech, and have the 16 battle insue. They’d also better talk about the 0-40+ years during the vong war and UR crisis.

I think more about DK will be revealed in time. Wether in comics or maybe a book about him. That probably wont happen until the Legacy series is over or at least for a year or two. DK appearing in LotF, well maybe a hologram appearence or two or some talk about him from the sith of his order. What I find strange is that Troy Denning didnt reveal anything about Aleema’s stay with the Sith for those 2 or 3 days she was on Korriban. Did that one sith she rubbed the poison on die? If so wouldnt they have killed Aleema? Obviously there is more to her stay than revealed. Most of all I am pumped about Vector. It will be amazing!! A star wars cross could cover many topics. I have a feeling the Vong our in it. On the cover of the second issue of Vector for the Knights of the Old Republic series they show some sort of creature (perhaps Vong) in Mandolarian armor. By the way I saw the cover for it on wookiepedia.

Did anyone read leg. 17 yet? It is AWESOME!!! For all of you (including me) who were pissed off at A’Sharad having a lame backstory (at least the depth of it, the idea was good), Talon tells Cade more about Hett while they are sparing. We also have more time with krayt w/o his mask (i love it when i see heroes turned villains unmasked). I won’t ruin what the story is about except for one word………”XoXaan”……… The story itself isn’t about this and Hett has not met the vong yet, but he apparently gets a new arm (it’s gloved). Now what I don’t understand is why if it’s a fake arm, would it have the same growths on it as Hett’s natural arm? It also (:-/148 years later) looks just like the other real arm. Wouldn’t it be mech like Ani/Luke’s? He hasn’t met the vong, so i don’t see any other way it could be organic unless he “reattached” it somehow. When someone figures it out before December tell me.

FETT HAD A LEG CLONED. PERHAPS KRAYT CLONED AN ARM? LUKES HAND LOOKED ORGANIC ON THE SURFACE B4 JABBAS SAIL BARGE. IT MIGHT BE LIKE THAT. THE VONG WILL BE A GOOD STORY. I HOPE ITS TOLD IN MORE THAN ONE BOOK. LIKE CLAWS OF THE DRAGON SERIES. LETS HOPE.

I just bought Fury and the Essential Guide to the Force this week. Both are amazing. Especially the art work in essential guide to the force. I havent started to read Fury, but I heard it is supposed to be good. Essential Guide does confirm that the “revanichist” becomes Darth Revan and Alek becomes Darth Malak.
