The big ‘hook’ in the Life on Mars show is – what the frak is going on with this dude?
Is he alive? Dead? Parallel Universe or just dreaming in a coma?
Well this week’s episode – he saves hostages in a hospital – gives us the clearest picture yet that Sam Tyler indeed is in a coma.
Or maybe not.
Guess we’ll just have to ride this show out to see what the deal is.
In the meantime the show continues to be a great 70’s cop show with 2008 sensibilities. It’s one of our favorite shows of the week to watch.

IF SAM WAS IN A PARALLEL UNIVERSE THE YEAR SHOULD BE 2008. UNLESS THE UNIVERSE HE IS IN THERE IS BEHIND 35 YEARS IN DEVELOPMENT, BUT IT STILL SHOULD BE THE SAME YEAR. IF SAM WAS ACTUALLY TRANSPORTED BACK IN TIME, HOW DOES EVERYONE SEEM TO KNOW HIM AND HOW DOES HE HAVE A VEHICLE REGISTERED TO HIM UNDER HIS NAME??? I THINK THE COMA OR SOME TYPE OF VIRTUAL REALITY IS MORE PROBABLE HERE. THIS COULD ALSO BE SOME TYPE OF Quantum Leap THING HERE. HE IS SENT BACK IN TIME TO CHANGE HISTORY TO MAKE THINGS BETTER THAT GOD WANTS CHANGED. JUST LIKE SAME BECKETT DID. IF YOU REMEMBER IN ONE HIS TRAVELS HE ACTUALLY MEETS SATAN. NOW WHAT SAM TYLER CAN DO TO TEST ONE OF THERE THEORIES IS TO MAKE HIMSELF A NOTE WITH HIS VERY OWN HAND WRITING STATING ON IT THE DATE, TIME AND PLACE WHERE HE WOULD HAVE HIS ACCIDENT AND PLACE IT IN WEATHER SEALED CONTAINER WHERE HE KNOWS A PLACE IN THE FUTURE WHERE HE WILL ACCIDENTLY FIND IT OR HE CAN SEND IT WESTERN UNION TO HIMSELF IN 2008 (LIKE THE WAY IN BACK TO THE FUTURE). THAT WAY HE WILL AVOID THE ACCIDENT AND A PARADOX WILL OCCUR BECAUSE IF HE DOES NOT GET HIT BY THE CAR, THEN HE WILL NEVER GO BACK TO 1973 AND IF HE NEVER GOES BACK THEN HE NEVER WROTE THE LETTER IN THE FIRST PLACE. THOSE ARE MY THEORIES TO THIS SHOW WHICH IS ONE OF LAST SHOWS I ACTUALLY LOOK FORWARD TO WATCHING EACH WEEK. I ALSO ENJOYED WATCHING JOURNEYMAN UNTIL NBC CANCELED THAT LIKE THE WAY SGA IS GETTING THE AX..
I wonder if this show is going to follow the same basic plot that it did for the parent show here in the U.K.
If so, it really wouldn’t take a genius to work out what was happening.
I wonder if this version of the show will ever make it across the atlantic.
FROM WHAT I WATCHED FROM THE U.K. SHOW, I KNOW THE FIRST FEW EPISODES WERE PRETTY MUCH THE SAME THING.
