The hype cycle for part 2 of Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy is now gearing up.
The new film has the title, “The Desolation of Smaug”
As part of the PR push, Jackson has pushed out a video talking about the film, which has a whole lot of amazing insights. One of the best segments for us was a video question from Stephen Colbert who asked if there would be proper differentiation to show the different groups of Elves. Jackson’s answer — Yes.
Jackson also revealed that he ‘walked out of Colbert’s studio’ with a mug that might not have been his..

Got the chance to see The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey the other day and it was awesome.
Don’t listen to the naysayers that say this movie starts off slow – it doesn’t
Don’t listen to the naysayers that say the 78 fps video will make you sick – it won’t
From the first frame to the last, this movie fully engage the entire ShowMeScifi team ranging in ages from 8 to 84. The visuals are amazing, the acting is superb, the score is mesmerizing and the story is..well we already knew the story was second to none.
Yeaah we were also concerned that breaking the Hobbit up into three movies would make each individual segment drag on…but that’s not the case.
This movie has a logical beginning, middle and end.

Ever since we saw the first Hobbit trailer we have been haunted the fantastic song that Thorin and the company sing it’s called the Song of the Lonely Mountain.
It’s also now set to be the tune that the final credits roll too.
We’ve just heard the song (It’s available by clicking here: ) though to be honest we like the trailer version better.

don’t get us wrong – we’re excited to see more footage from the first Hobbit movie.
It’s just that the stuff we’ve already seen so far to date is…better.
