Stargate SG-1 – Does Teyla’s Baby Belong to John Shephard? June 19, 2007

Teyla is having a baby! Well, actress Rachel Luttrell, who plays Teyla on Stargate Atlantis is and for season 4 the writers are writing it into the storyline.
Apparently the baby belongs to someone we haven’t met yet….but i think it would be FRAKKIN AWESOME if it was John Shephard’s . That sure would complicate things.
Then again maybe she was impregnated by a wraith like entity so her baby will be the promised child the bridges human and wraith culture.

I am a Shep/Teyla shipper but I am thinking it is Michael’s.
I’m with you on that one. It’s far more likely that Michael conducted some kind of genetic manipulation when he captured Teyla in last week’s episode. This development could bring Teyla and Shephard closer though.
Even though the “Sunday” episode pushed all of the characters toward developing romantic relationships — except for Shephard and Ronin — it seems more in keeping with the pacing of the show to have long character arcs for romantic entanglements. Case in point, on SG-1 Carter and O’Neil have been pining away for one another for 10 years. So I think it would seem rushed to get Teyla and Shephard together quickly enough to write her pregnancy into the show. I was kind of annoyed that Teyla is waiting for her love interest to make the first move too. That seems out of character for her.
Wow… I hadn’t even thought about the Michael thing…. that would be an awesome story… but I doubt they’ll go that way. I’m sure the baby will be perfectly normal and just a product of some normal lovin’…
Not a Teyla fan either. She’s attractive, and I like her martial arts fighting style… but I’m not that fond of the character herself. Hopefully this season can change that.
I really hate the way that writters do this. I think the story is the most important thing and shouldnt be effected by actors. I would hope that writters of the show would have some kind of plan for the show and are not just making it up as they go along.
I will be interested to see what this story is all about and I hope that it isn’t like Vala’s baby…
I hope the baby’s is sheperd’s it would make things very interesting!!!!
What would be more interesting: a wraith altered baby, a replicator altered baby, or a plain, normal one. I think if Teyla did have a baby i would be interested if she was impregnated by a replecator. If it was normal but made by Sheppard they might have to put an intimate seen in to tell the audience how this occured.
