In a major new canon development in the Star Wars Universe – Lucas is giving Anakin Skywalker a Padawan of his own.

Her name is Ahsoka Tano.

First of all I think it’s great that Anakin gets a Padawan. It’s something that has been missing from the young Darth Vader’s story for the last 30 years.

While it will be interesting to see the interaction of Tano and Skywalker in the new Clone Wars series.

What will also be interesting to see is how Lucas expands the character in other timelines…for example: Is she killed by Vader or Clone Troopers in the Jedi Purge?

[…] apparently some 30 episodes already in the can. It also looks like Anakin’s new apprentice Ahsoka Tano. will play a major role […]

Perhaps it is her death during the Clone Wars that helps to make Anakin become so disillusioned as seen in Revenge of the Sith? That could really help give more credence to his eventual turn.

This is the wrong way to go George. Clearly the padawan needs to be an Ewok or a Gungan. Marketing Marketing Marketing!!!

well i believe that she is killed during the Great Jedi
Purge Anakin tries to save her from him and also remember
that Anakin is never officially made a Jedi Master so that means
that she never became a Jedi Knight. Also according to the
Sith and Jedi Code a padawan is suppose to respect their
master and in turn the padawan protects the master.
In the Clone Wars series we see that Master Luminara
says that The padawan is taught by the master and in turn
the padawan gives their full obedience to their master.
The Clone wars is set in the time between episodes 2 and 3,
this says alot because she is never metioned in episode 3.
I believe that because she didn’t protect Anakin from the dark
she didn’t believe that she was worthy to become a Jedi Knight
and as xcontiex said she does reappear in the Star Wars the Force unleashed. Anakin didn’t send her away she exiled herself but still
being a jedi padawan she was still bound to her master so she stayed close and also don’t forget that that star wars the force unleashed took many years to create and it was released on September 16 2008 and the Clone Wars movie came out on August 15 giving George Lucas a few months to add Ahsoka to the Foce Unleashed. Also padawans were not allowed to go on seperate missions for long.
