invincible.jpgWe’ve known since at least November that Jaina would be on the cover of the final book of the Legacy of the Force series.

Now the first images of the actual book cover are available and it looks to us that she’s going to have a showdown with her brother Jacen – Darth Caedus.

That is a confrontation that is – Inevitable – maybe that should’ve been the name of the book. Then again maybe Invincible refers to Jacen/Caedus….

Invincible’s release date is set for May 13, 2008. Amazon is already taking pre-orders on this the final installment of the Legacy of the Force – it’s a hardcover so it’s more dough than the paperbacks. Amazon currently has a neat offer though, they’re starting at 34% off list price and if you pre-order now they’ll give you an extra 5% discount. Sure beat paying full price the day it comes out..but i wonder if they’ll actually ship it to arrive on May 13th..

does anybody have a clue when invincible will be out on paperback, will it be roughly a year like the other hardback releases?

I’m not sure but, I know it’s a long time. Possibly six months plus. Who can wait that long…I’m going to read betrayal again…

If Caedus is defeated what becomes of the galaxy? Does it just slink off into a time of peace order and tranquility? where would the excitement and adventure be then? Who would the Jedi fight? Wouldn’t the Jedi become obsolete if Caedus dies without having trained a successor to carry on the sith legacy? Without sith what will become of the Jedi? I am both eagerly awaiting and dreading “Invincible” I don’t want Caedus to die but I don’t want him to win either.

Invincible will come out in paperpack in 4/28/09. thats a looong time shrekology. I’m a big Caedus fan and I am dreading Invincible too. 2 big reasons. 1-delrey’s contract might not be renewed to write future SW novels, thus the “happy” ending and 2-I think their going with the comics time line so Caedus is destined not to win. I hope i am wrong. But if caedus goes down, hope he takes EVERYONE down with him.
How about this: In Betrayal, jacen has a vision of himself killing luke. He kills Nelani because of that vision. Now Caedus is fighting Jaina in Invincible. Luke is masking his face with a image on Jaina to throw Caedus off in the fight. In the end, Caedus kills “Luke”, and wonders why the vision failed him and questions his other visions of peace thru him becoming a sith lord. In a confused state, he walks over to the dead “luke” only to realize that it is Jaina. Two things could happen then. 1-Ceadus is devestated and thinks to himself that this whole sith thing isn’t worth it anymore and goes into exile, still sith or now just a dark Jedi. 2-Caedus realizes that his visions are right and he is doing the right thing for the galaxy. And also he becomes so angry with Luke because of what he did, that he goes after him and the jedi for vengeance, thus becoming a greater Sith Lord. What happens when they meet, who knows? Just some interesting things i been thinking about. Its all about speculation right now and fun. 2 weeks and a couple day left till the book.

Darth Chubby-er Chebbis, That was Lord Maloch’s statement to you: “join us or die.” So, you have chosen death. I will be more then happy to lead the assualt on you and your non-existent army. You shall die and it will be a painful one! hahaha. unless…maybe we will talk. lol.
Hey, lets start talking Invincible again in any way, shape, or form. Like i said, 2 weeks left. no more KOTOR. Great games but wrong forum. I played 1 three times and 2 two times. yes Chebbis, hardcover book due out May 13th.

xpyr9j, what indeed will become of the galaxy if Caedus is defeated? One thing I know for sure is that the Squabbling of planets will never end. These worlds are like a bunch of spoiled children. you would think that after the Vong war that the people in the galaxy would want to unite. There was so much death and destruction during that war. if you don’t want peace after that, there is something wrong with you. And apparently their is something wrong with the people in the galaxy. They need a Caedus like rule or ruler. they deserve it. I think if Caedus is defeated the next threat to the jedi will be them stopping a new civil war breaking out. That’s not exciting. As for sith, there are always sith holocroms to teach new fallen Jedi or dark jedi to become sith again. Like I said, i’m starting to think that Caedus will lose and that is trouble some for me. If so, they ruined a great character just for a stupid 9 book series. That is the straw i am holding onto, and I will root for Caedus like crazy in the finale.

Ceadus’s fate matters very little to the rest of the galaxy. If he fails there are the Sith on Korriban to continue the legacy and I beleive Luke will permit them to survive even if he discovers them because they are no threat in their hovels in the ruins of past glories. The Galaxy will never be fully at peace. If you read the novels of the Old Republic especially those involving Obi Wan as an apprentice you find countless missions that Jedi can be sent on. Perhaps even a series on how Booster Terik dies and the Errant Venture becomes a mobile Jedi Base like the Chu’Unther. Perhaps even stories about Luke and the other Jedi searching for new truths about the Force.

P.S. It is good to here from you again General mliscky 🙂

Good to see you back General. I wanted to touch on that dream that Luke had in Betrayal..He had dreams of a man in a cloak and a dark preasents surounded him( the cloaked person) and he thought that is could have been his father just after he became Vader. I read some where on our page here that maybe Caedus could flowwalk back in time and actualy bring someone back. Also, though I haven’t gotten to that part yet in my reread of Betrayal, Caedus promised that if he became a Sith Lord that he would flowwalk and seek councel from his Grandfather…so I was thinking that this figure in Master Lukes dreams could possible be Lord Vader, and if it was possible to bring anyone back, It may have been him, the Dark Lord himself. I don’t recall any conclusion to Lukes dream. It could have been a glimps into the future and since the dark side does cloud future visions for the Jedi, this phantom could be OUR new Dark Lord, Darth Caedus. And we may Lukes dream come to be… …it would really be something if Caedus did bring back Vader, but if so, how would he react to the fact that he has childeren, as Lord Vader still had good in him, he might very well just help stop Caedus and become the new Grand Master of the Jedi. Cause as we all have read Luke doesn’t really want the job…he wants to be there for Ben.

no fair! i made all these points in my earlier comments…. But your missing several. During “Tempest” Jacen has a vision of the Hapes Cluster with a face and white eyes saying “Mine” Thats the Korriban sith that i hope Jaina is fighting on the cover (hence the blocky stone backdrop) Second is a strange thing i only just uncovered last night. In “Revelation” when Jacens StealthX is being ripped to shreds, he feels a force presence doing this THAT ISINT LUKE! I think the Sith are after Jacen as well. Jacens rise has split the galaxy, but Jacen is now trying to pull it all together, and that may not coincide with the Korriban Sith goals so there trying to rub him off before he fixes things…. Someone has been pulling Jacen’s strings for a LONG time now. Since Betrayal there is someone at work behind the curtain other than Luminya, and my money is on Vergere….wow that would make for the best ending. Even if Jacen dies i will be glad to read it if Vergere proves not to be dead. A ship rammed the asteroid and she appeared before Jacen, thats all we had in terms of proof that Vergere is dead….people in the EU have come back from way less…
