We’ve known since at least November that Jaina would be on the cover of the final book of the Legacy of the Force series.
Now the first images of the actual book cover are available and it looks to us that she’s going to have a showdown with her brother Jacen – Darth Caedus.
That is a confrontation that is – Inevitable – maybe that should’ve been the name of the book. Then again maybe Invincible refers to Jacen/Caedus….
Invincible’s release date is set for May 13, 2008. Amazon is already taking pre-orders on this the final installment of the Legacy of the Force – it’s a hardcover so it’s more dough than the paperbacks. Amazon currently has a neat offer though, they’re starting at 34% off list price and if you pre-order now they’ll give you an extra 5% discount. Sure beat paying full price the day it comes out..but i wonder if they’ll actually ship it to arrive on May 13th..

Finals for me isn’t until early May. Maybe he got fed up with the rehashing of old arguments and left.

The Fact that the book is only 300 some odd pages long suggests to me that Invincible will not answer anything or bring closure to anything since it will have to be on the order of the last Harry Potter book in order to answer all the questions that have been raised. The authors will probably avoid seperating the books and the comics until the last minute if a seperation is even planed. That is what all of our conversations boil down to: Will the Novels play follow the leader or will they not. My prediction is that the next series will finish off many of the “old characters” unless of course the authors decide to just kill off the Jedi meaninglessly like the people who die off all the time in Horror Murder genre stuff. No honor or glory in it at all. That is the only way that you can have a book that short with all the stuff that we want to happen.
Star Wars does seem to like doing one thing above all others. Bringing some prophecy from the beginning and flipping it in the end. Thats why there is still hope for Jacen dying in a way that will be….well his death will never be good and will probably be the end of my time reading Star Wars….but it will at least be proper in some way. Why did Jacen have to do this? Read betrayal again and you see that he ran every scenario in which he didnt follow Lumiya and in every one of those Jacen kills Luke….not Jaina, Luke. So naturally he did this and that allows for Luke to kill Jacen.
I see the scene now…some epic battle raging in the sky, Jacen and Luke in a battle like no other.. Luke about to die flashes Allana in front of Jacens face (like Mara) and in that second of pause Luke jams his lightsaber in Jacens gut…giving him enough time to monologue how all this he did for Luke and the Galaxy.. Luke saying he forgives Jacen, and Jacen fades into the force to float ghost-like with Mara for some final shot of Luke looking at his wife and nephew smiling at him…..(without the ewoks too so its perfect)
PS…when i get the Oscar for that description, id like to thank Amazon for selling me these books so cheaply which is what caused me to start reading them last June.

since noone else said it i would like to welcome ther chimera back into service. to me its a more famous ship than the falcon.

lord maloch i never played kotor 2. i got caught up in battlefront 2 and bounty hunter.i did beat the first one as jedi and as sith.does 2 play the same way or is it more action oriented?
all I have to say to answer your question..darth chebbis..is Odderon and Duxun..both of these planets, especialy Onderon while storming the palace, is full of great action. There is still a lot of diologe, which I like as it’s provides us with more Star Wars lore.

Yea, I played kotor 2 it was awesome, and the Onderon siege is one of the best parts in the game. And darth chebbis even if there was a cloaked Star Forge in the vong galaxy how did you get there and come back… the vong said it took hundreds probablly thousands of years to get here much less go back too, so how did you make it there and back in one lifetime?

is kotor 2 like part 1 where u pick ten moves and watch or is it like the force unleashed where u just whoop ass and takle names later?
i wasnt a fan of the gameplayt in kotor1 i love the story and the movies were fantastic but it was a boring game to actually play.
After a whole weekend this is all that has been going on!? What happend to Invincable? Two and a half week folks and we’ll be reading…and unfortunatlely, we’ll also be saying goodby to Admiral Wilhelm…I’m sure the General, Colonel as well as myself, wish you well in all of your endevours.
Chebbis! this is Star Wars not Stargate SG-1 WRONG GALAXY. Also even if you could have another Star Forge in another Galaxy it would take you hundred if not thousands of years to get to our Galaxy. You are also forgetting that the Vong destroyed all life and most of their own Galaxy in the Great Crmilevian War. Something like the Star Forge would definately have been destroyed by the Vong before they left. You are also bluffing since you are not powerful enough in the Dark Side to utilize the Star Forge to it’s full potential. SO DON’T LET YOUR ALIGATOR MOUTH OVERRIDE YOUR TADPOLE ASS! If you want to draw in alternate realities and Galaxies that do not officially exist in the EU We can do the same and I warn you that you do not want that to happen because I have been imagining things beyond your wildest dreams that will kick your ass in a heartbeat. Stay in the EU and we will do the same.
As for my ultimate disappearance that will be happening much sooner than originally predicted. May 10th is my last day and I will miss you all so much. Star Wars is really much more than a SciFi novel series with no basis in reality. It contains many life lessons and stratagies that are applicable in every day life. I quoted Star Wars to a politician this past weekend and his response was that it was all true and wanted to know what Political Science book I had read it in.
That and every college level exam with vocabulary involved has those same Vocabulary words used in Star Wars. I rest my case for the EU being the Ultimate Book Series Ever!
