invincible.jpgWe’ve known since at least November that Jaina would be on the cover of the final book of the Legacy of the Force series.

Now the first images of the actual book cover are available and it looks to us that she’s going to have a showdown with her brother Jacen – Darth Caedus.

That is a confrontation that is – Inevitable – maybe that should’ve been the name of the book. Then again maybe Invincible refers to Jacen/Caedus….

Invincible’s release date is set for May 13, 2008. Amazon is already taking pre-orders on this the final installment of the Legacy of the Force – it’s a hardcover so it’s more dough than the paperbacks. Amazon currently has a neat offer though, they’re starting at 34% off list price and if you pre-order now they’ll give you an extra 5% discount. Sure beat paying full price the day it comes out..but i wonder if they’ll actually ship it to arrive on May 13th..

I’m pretty sure that vergere is dead. Think she told Jacen that she died so he could live. But you could be right with her still be alive. But I really doubt it. Maybe your right about white eyes and the sith. I said this before that the sith on korriban almost have to play a role in this last book, and it probably is to take Caedus and his possible rule down so it is easier for them to rule later.

Lord Maloch, i think that it was jacen/caedus all along that luke was seeing in his vision. Vader and Caedus are kin so they probably look alike in a way. The only thing that Luke couldn’t see was the cloaked man’s face. It wasn’t a mask so you can rule out darth krypt, the sith guy who rules in the future. He wears a big mask. I think it was stated that luke couldn’t see the man’s face in the vision because part of Luke didn’t want to see it. If he did, Luke would have saw the face of his nephew. His father already was sith and he knew this, so seeing his face wouldn’t have been a problem for him. In the blurbs that I read, it says that Luke has another vision of a destroyed gaalxy with Caedus as the ruler. So we will see what the vision really is.

You are right admiral when you say that Caedus’ fate means little to the galaxy. But I like him as a character and we always cheer for the characters that we like. So that is why I am personally wanting him to win. But in hindsight, you are definetly right.

Yeah, I though as much…but, one can hope. Even though, the thought of bringing someone back is way to much even for a galaxy far far away, it makes for good speculation. Uhmm, I remember the presents that Caedus felt during the Battle of Fondar but, I just wrote it off as our Lord not being able to read Luke correctly. He was feeling some thing comeing in and out of hyperspace just outside the fringes…at first I though is was the Sphere, though when he got hit by Master Luke. I imagined that it was the other Jedi, either postioning themselves for the pounce, or they were coming out of lightspeed at defferent intervals…I hope though that it’s the Shere.

I beleive that the presensces Ceadus felt moving through Hyperspace was Daala’s fleet especially the Mandos with Jaina. The force told him that the Mandos were a threat and they were since they very nearly killed both him and Tahiri. It would be interesting to see the Jedi and the Sith team up to defeat Ceadus as the two groups very rarely work together on anything but if they were I beleive the result would be better than if the two groups worked against each other.

As for bringing people back from the past I do not think it is possible. Say you were to bring Vader or Anakin back, they would be missed in their own time and so you would have to bring them back to the exact moment they were removed. Either one would have made an attempt to warn Luke of the impending danger. Vader would have warned Luke with his dying breaths (Did not Happen) and Anakin would have warned someone or died (Pretty much it is impossible for any warning to be transmitted because it would violate the current timeline). It can’t be done without the aid of parallell Universes and those do not exist for us to look at in any way except to watch Dr. Who (Kill Me if I Do).

stargate covers alternate realities all the time. dr who sucks.

i wanna see jacen fight ben. it wont happen but i would like to see it.
anyone wanna see jaina in a mando suit of armor? i do.

fett gives her a full spec besulisk. noone was supposed to get those but mandos.

i wanna see return to keldabe and become a leader of the mandos.and of course she still has to give birth to roan fels ancestor.

vergere would be awesome if she stays hidden from luke. she would be a great sith. read traitor and you will agree.

You know, the whole thing about bringing people from the past is exactly what the comics should write about…the what if’s. Again I’M NOT HARPING ON OR DISCREDITING THE COMICS.

Don’t know exactly what this book is going to offer, but I want to read some excellent dialogue between the main characters. There was no real talk about what has happened to Jacen at all between his family. I hope this book really dives into it between Jaina, Leia, Han, Luke, and Ben. I need to feel some emotion with this situation. We as readers need to feel the emotion of the moment. If someone dies, which I really hope, It has to mean something. When chewbacca died, you really felt it. You could feel the emotion in Han when you were reading. It was even sadder when you had Anakin Solo die. You had Jacen and Jaina there to see it, which was brutal. Then you had Leia and Luke feel it in the force, and when Leia felt it, you know you were reading a really sad moment. That was a choker of a scene. Even though alot of people hated the Mara death, I feel it was written really well too.

So along with alot of action this book will have, which I can’t wait for, I hope the real driving force of this book is dialogue.

If Caedus would fight Ben, he would destroy him. Wouldn’t even be a contest. What I really want to see is Caedus against Luke or Kyp, but probably isn’t going to happen. Jaina will have to do. Still don’t see how she can beat him though. But I’m just waiting for that moment when Caedus, even Tahiri for that matter, to pull out their lightsabers and have that red, crimson blade. I think we will see a Tahiri-Leia rematch. unless you have Tahiri leading the strike team to destroy the new hidden jedi base where I think it might be Tahiri against Ben.

Denning is writing this book. In the past, the only way a author brought back a person you thought was dead was the person who “killed” them to begin with. For example, denning brought back Alema. He also brought back Raynar, Lomi plo, and her apprentice, forget his name. So in saying that, Williams wrote Vergere’s death in destiny’s way, so I don’t think Denning will bring her back, even though that would be a great twist.

Okay. I am going to break it down for you guys. I guarantee they will not kill Jacen and here’s why: Jacen’s death would create a vacuum in the leadership of the GA, or should I say the new Empire?. After Revelation it is apparent they are setting up another Empire vs. Rebellion battle, and like his Grandpa Vader, Jacen is taking over the driver’s seat in his new Empire. I see him as another Emperor, only its an amalgam of Vader/Palpatine this time. They won’t kill their newest despot so easily. It has become apparent that Jacen’s powers rival that of Vader’s and even Luke’s. After all, Jacen spent 5 years wandering around learning things that Luke had no idea about until he returned. He is not the only Sith, that much was made apparent after Lumiya’s death, don’t forget that. Invincible refers to the Sith, not to any character in particular. If you’ve paid attention to what has been said and inferred by Lumiya, Alema, and Jacen the Darth Bane rule of Two has been abandoned and there is a whole group of Sith watching every move Jacen makes. This Sith council, if you wanna call it that, won’t let anything happen to him. I think that, yes, we are going to see one hell of a battle between Jaina and Jacen, but Jacen won’t die. I see him getting hurt in some fashion but ultimately he’ll survive and come out on top again. As for Tahiri? She is much to obsessed with pleasing Darth Cadeus and seeing Anakin in the “Force walks” she is taking with him. She has made her choice to walk on the dark side with Cadeus and we are going to see her either fight Tenel Ka or Leia. Either way, I think she’ll make it out alive and be the one that comes back into the light, after realizing she is too obsessed with the past.
What about Ben? Ben is going to play some part in saving the next Jedi Knight generation and help Jaina realize that she can’t destroy Jacen just by learning a few things from Boba Fett. I can’t say for sure whether it’ll be so he can take Jacen down himself in the next series, but I see Ben being the one who takes Jacen down later on. Being that he is Luke and Mara’s son, I think Ben will be the greatest Jedi of the Legacy generation and will eventually surpass even Luke in the Force power department. I see a great space fleet battle happening in this book too. I see Admiral Cha, Fett’s Mandalorians, and Tenel Ka joining forces with the Confederation to take on the GA but will somehow be beaten back, or at least held off. Jaina will ultimately fail to beat her brother and he will escape to return later. That being said I think we can expect a new series before too terribly long and it’ll start with how Jacen and the group of new Sith return to claim power. Oh, and guys, don’t take this the wrong way but, Vergere and Anakin are DEAD!!! Accept it and get over it and enjoy the new series when it happens! See you one the flip side and let the Force be with you!!!!

darth turtle, I like what you had to say. But according to you the rule of two has been abandoned by Lumiya and Jacen. You are wrong there. Lumiya wants jacen to take a apprentice and that’s it. No body else to join him. therefore, the rule of two. And all Caedus is thinking about after her death is, “who will become my apprentice.” And how and why do you think that Invinvible refers to the sith? Don’t get me wrong, I hope your right. And two things about the sith on Korriban. 1- It was stated in one of the LOTF books that they do not support Caedus and do not want to help him out. That was when Alema first met them. They gave her some darth vectivus thing but that was it. 2- In the comics, when they take over, nobody, NOBODY knew that they existed. so they can’t even be found out about. At ALL. And also if Caedus would take over and rule, he would put the galaxy in order. The sith need the galaxy in disorder so they can take over in the future. But all of this depends on whether or not they keep the timeline with the books and comics.

But I hope I am wrong about all that. I think the only thing that hasn’t come true with the tassels in Betrayal is that Caedus will know brotherhood. Will that be the sith “brotherhood” on Korriban?

Forgot. It was also stated that the sith on korriban knew vergere and they did not want to go with her plan. She wanted the rule of two to rule the galaxy and they wanted the “one” sith to rule the galaxy.

your all flirting with the idea ive hoped for ever since i saw the cover of “Invincible” (Thats not Jacen on the cover) Jacen figures out he is being played. His nearly ripped to shreds StealthX convinced me. Someone else was doing that and Luke was not there. Jacen figures out he is being played and lets the Jedi know, who hates Sith more than Jedi? So yea a Korriban fight i hope happens with a passion. Even with that though and all the garbage with Boba Fett and Jaina i could care less about Jaina….I want the Luke/Jacen fight. I can taste it. Even if it doesnt happen im going to imagine it. The best vs the up and coming best. I want that death realization…that part where ones been struck with a blade and has a few seconds to realize their death awaits them. It will probably be Jacen since everything Jacen did he did so that he wouldnt kill Luke. That realization that he had prevented Lukes death by dying himself at Lukes hand…..thats all id need to keep the books alive in my mind no matter how far the plot deters…Common Troy….do this right. Though if Jacen survives ill keep reading and ive pledged to hang up my black cloak if he dies, if its gotta go down plz by all the gods come from Lukes blade and not Jaina!
