We’ve known since at least November that Jaina would be on the cover of the final book of the Legacy of the Force series.
Now the first images of the actual book cover are available and it looks to us that she’s going to have a showdown with her brother Jacen – Darth Caedus.
That is a confrontation that is – Inevitable – maybe that should’ve been the name of the book. Then again maybe Invincible refers to Jacen/Caedus….
Invincible’s release date is set for May 13, 2008. Amazon is already taking pre-orders on this the final installment of the Legacy of the Force – it’s a hardcover so it’s more dough than the paperbacks. Amazon currently has a neat offer though, they’re starting at 34% off list price and if you pre-order now they’ll give you an extra 5% discount. Sure beat paying full price the day it comes out..but i wonder if they’ll actually ship it to arrive on May 13th..

does anyone agree with me that the sith on korriban are the most ridicules, idiodic, most irrelevant people in LOTF? What the hell has been their purpose? Why even write ship into the story? Everything the authors did with them is STUPID!
If Caedus dies I will lose my faith in the authors for them to write about Sith anymore. Or even if Caedus is redeemed.
with sith on Korriban, Caedus will never, ever team up with the jedi to defeat them. If anything, he will try and take care of them himself.
I do agree that the Sith on Korriban are, so far, irrelevant. I have to believe that they will play some part in the last book. Lymina told SHIP to protect the Sith Lord to be and I’m hoping that will have an effect on the outcome of Invincable. Caedus has a lot of opposition and will need assistance. Tihari, I don’t think will be strong enough to take on Leia or Tenal Ka, on her own anyway. I guess it depends on how much time has passed between Revelation and Invinsable and how much teaching she has had. So, at least Ship has to have something to do with the out come, I say…
…I was listening to the book on tape short on Del Ray’s sight and they pronounced Caedus differently that I do…my questions is how do you all say our new Dark Lords name…I say it like so….( Kay-dus ).
Your anger give you focus General it makes you stronger.
The Sith of Korriban I beleive are a sign that the Authors are going to go along with the future that the Comics give us. There is no reason for them or Ship unless what the comics tell us is true. Half of writing a series that never ends is creating backround for future stories. The Sith on Korriban also serve as a scapegoat, keeps us guessing. If they didn’t exist then we would know that Ceadus would have to survive to continue the Sith Legacy. This way it can go either way Ceadus lives and the Sith are restored. He dies and the Sith of Korriban take over. Anakin Solo’s vision of Tahiri would be especially true if Ceadus is killed because then Jaina would be the last Solo child.
I saw on delreybooks.com, if you type in Invincible on top of page, that they finally gave us the real summary of the book. It is basically the second summary that I posted on here. And no mention of Luke masking Jaina with his face. That’s the best news I got from the summary. I hate the illusion shit they have every book.
In 13 days Lord Caedus will hold the galaxy in the grip of his hand. No mercy Lord Caedus.
I think you are totally right Admiral on your take of the Sith on Korriban. I agree with it all.
General Mislicky, I’m not saying that the Sith master/apprentice rule isn’t used anymore. What I mean is that back during the time of Darth Bane (according to chronology and the newest Bane book) a rule of two was established. Darth Bane decreed that no more than 2 Sith (a master and apprentice) will “exist” at one time. It was established to prevent the in- fighting that nearly destroyed the Sith and shield the Jedi from knowing of the Sith’s existence at the time. The rule was used right up until the Empire and seemingly was abandoned after Palpatine was destroyed. The existence of this Sith “group” on Korriban is pretty much the proof that the rule was abandoned. I really think that if Jaina and Jacen have this all out knock down drag out that we are all hoping for they will reveal themselves to at least Jacen/Cadeus when Jaina gives him his beating. I think this last book will set up the next series, but Jacen won’t be killed. I also know for a FACT that Lucas had told Del Rey that Luke, Leia, and Han are not to be touched by the Grim Reaper. That doesn’t necessarily hold true for the Solo kids I know, but Jacen’s character has way to much potential for them to kill him off right at this point in time. Like I wrote before, he is going to get a good ass whipping from Jaina, but will survive. The parallels between Vader and Cadeus are getting scary and I think we will probably see Jacen playing dress up with at least some of the black garb that Vader (though I doubt he’ll get the helmet) had once his duel with Jaina is over. I also agree that Lumiya’s SHIP will have some part yet to play, possibly saving Jacen after the end duel with Jaina. I think maybe we will see the old Jacen at some point during the duel and that will be why he runs away (that and the severe hurt he is gonna get put on him). Somehow the SHIP will feel his distress and the fact that his Sith resolve is wavering and whisk him away. It’ll be at this point that the Korriban Sith will make themselves known.
Finally, let me touch on Tahiri one more time. The vision that Anakin had of Tahiri was of her being more Vong than Jedi and I think he prevented that by saving her from the shapers in Conquest. Yes, I think she will stay dark for a while, at least until she sees Jacen for what he is, but will ultimately be restored to the light side. Hey, I could be wrong and I respect everyone point of view on this, but it makes for interesting and entertaining blogs! See ya!
Perhaps the Anakin vision of Tahiri being very scarified and dark is more symbolic than actual reality. Remember that not all scars are physical and that Ceadus with his Vong background is adding to those nonphysical scars. The twisting of Visions is very common in the Star Wars cycle.
Finally I firmly beleive that Ceadus will die at the hands of the Jedi. Maybe not this series but definately in the next. Jaina will live so she can bear the children of Jagged Fel that will found the Fel Empire.
Sorry to those who doubt the eventual conformity of the novels to the future outlined by the comics but I see no way around it.
I’m gone folks…good luck in all your endevours..I wish you all well!
Go Lord Caedus…show them what balance means.
It has been indeed a pleasure to be in this forum.
General….you are now in charge. I would, if I were you, change that title to Lord!
Time for me to change some minds people.
……how could I forget….
….MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU ALL…
I am starting to believe after rereading some of the LOTF books that maybe the Sith will only be revealed to Cadeus and one of 2 things will happen….
a) Caedus will be their puppet and he will put the galaxy into disarray that they will take advantage of it and destroy the Jedi…
b) or he will help the Jedi destroy them but continue the Sith way himself, find an apprentice like Lumiya wanted him to, and reestablish the Rule of Two
One thing that keeps bugging me though…
If they are setting the books up to follow the comics doesn’t that mean that at some point Jaina and Jagged have to hook up? Where is As’haad Hett a.k.a. Darth Krayt? According to the comics, because of the Yuuzhan Vong curse he has upon him he is supposedly long lived for human standards. He should be around now somewhere! Also, what the hell happened to Aurra Sing?!? Why hasn’t she shown back up? She didn’t die (unless I skipped some of my reading)! They have not used her enough in any of the EU literature and I LOVE her character. There is some major potential for her being or becoming a Sith. She started out as a Jedi (the Dark Woman’s apprentice if I am not mistaken) you know! Someone, if you know or have an opinion, help me connect the pieces and fill in my missing info!!!
