At first we thought that this was going to be yet another amnesia episode…the kind we’ve seen a few times over ten years on Stargate SG-1.
Tabula Rasa is better. The name Tabula Rasa itself is never mentioned in the episode, a quick Wikipedia lookup shows that it means – “Tabula rasa (Latin: scraped tablet or clean slate) refers to the epistemological thesis that individual human beings are born with no innate or built-in mental content, in a word, “blank”, and that their entire resource of knowledge is built up gradually from their experiences and sensory perceptions of the outside world.”
That’s exactly what this episode is about – the Atlantis expedition figures out what they’re supposed to do piece by piece – with clues they left themselves..and the easy plot out that Tayla and Ronen are immune (sort of like in STar Trek when Data is immune in the amnesia episodes).
Still a gripping and entertaining episode easily a 3.75 out of 5 stars.
