SciFi channel has confirmed that Season 5 of Battlestar Galactica will air in January of 2009 and not April of 2009.
Several blogs (not this one) claimed that Sci Fi Channel was going to frak over the fans and push back the final season.
The reports are erroneous, the channel confirmed to SCI FI Wire. “It is still slated to return January 2009,” a spokesman for the channel said.
**UPDATE** Technically speaking the January start is being called Season 4 by NBC Universal – i expect when they do their box sets they’ll call it 4.5. But it’s really Season 5. How do you have a show in the same season more than 8 months apart? that’s nuts it’s season 5 and Sci Fi is just playing around with numbers for some unknown reason.

Im mostly a trekie fan,but i recognize a good scifi show and battloestar is i would be extatic to know the technical specifications of the viper in all its form and varyeties,kudos for the writters cast,and staff

As much as I love the new BSG (it being a true quality action-drama that just happens to be a sci-fi show), you have to end it sometime before it begins to feel like they’re just searching and searching and searching. I’m a huge 24 and ER fan, and I feel that those shows have run way too long…there’s only so much that can happen in a series before it starts to get tiresome. In addition, I like the idea that we earthlings destroyed ourselves…there’s a bit of a message there. At least it’s not like the original series, with them landing in a 1970’s Earth, complete with feathered hair and disco music.

i just watched them land on a destroyed earth on a so-called season 4 it was 10 episodes could these be the ones the writers diddnt finish?
it kind of ended weird they were working with the cylons and admiral odama said previously arriving at earth that, “we must make haste as to not get into another fight along the way” so thats what it did skipped right to them finding earth all crumbling and post-apocalyptic
