We’ve been saying here on ShowMeSciFi.com since January of 2007 that Starbuck is a Cylon. After watching episode 17 of Season 4 Someone to Watch Over Me ..we’re now as confident as ever that we were right!!

Starbuck’s Dad the piano player – was Daniel the Cylon. has to be..we know Daniel was more artistic and we know that his line got boxed which is why he never came back.

We learned about Daniel in episode 15 (called No Exit). This is what we here at ShowMeSciFi.com predicted last year – the FINAL FINAL Cylon is Daniel Graystone set to played by actor Eric Stolz in the upcoming Caprica prequel.

It all adds up now doesn’t it?

Hera isn’t  the only half-breed. Kara is the same.

How Kara will lead humanity to their doom? Guess that was Earth…

This is why I get frustrated with the internet – you get a sudden jolt as you realize what seems to be an absolutely brilliant plot resolution, but you don’t want to jump the gun, so you try to look it up and you find articles and comments that suggest the same thing, but which then go off on tangents and speculations, some of which are phrased as if they “must be” facts, and after a few paragraphs the language becomes sloppy and you can no longer tell what is known and what is merely being assumed, or worse – pushed as fact and cloaked in linguistic trickery.

Ellen said that Cavil destroyed all the new Daniels that were being created, which implies that at least one already existed. I don’t remember the rest exactly and will have to watch again, but don’t forget that both Cavil and Ellen are not the most honest of characters at the best of times. Both were aiming to manipulate the other, and both were also aiming to manipulate Boomer. Plus a totally honest confessional is inconsistent with either character.

Anders’ brief revelations are also partial and difficult to interpret by recollection only. I’ll have to watch them again as well. But he did say that they reached the colonies too late to stop the FIRST war. When exactly was the original Daniel created? When did he disappear? What was supposed to have happened to him? And when exactly was Kara born? This is more than I know, and only the writers can answer these questions – maybe they already have, but chances are I’ll never find out because the internet is littered with this kind of speculative debris.

But what is far more interesting in my mind, and what is far more impressive to me personally, is the simple fact that the writers of the new BSG even conceived of dangling this kind of possibility in front of their audience, and through nothing more than subtext. Frakin’ brilliant.
