Dollhouse – Boyd is Mr. Rossum? Really?? January 10, 2010

Only two episodes left of Dollhouse and the surprises keep on rolling in don’t they?

Friday’s episode ‘ Getting Close’ had a few total shockers.

First – we alwasys figured Rossum was a British dude and that was that. But it turns out Rossum shifts bodies and is actually..BOYD!!

Unbelievable – so he’s been playing both sides against the middle the whole time? Didn’t anyone else know?

Astounding – we’re now going to go back and re-watch the whole series to see if there were any clues —

Boyd as Rossum changes the show, changes the whole reason why the house was going renegade…

Before that – Dr. Saunders/Whiskey was hiding out with Boyd?? rly?? and of course

Summer Glau got a bullet in the head(AWWWWWW….but will she reboot)?

Dollhouse has been an interesting show since its first episode,  then hit a bit of a rough patch, but it sure looks like this show is wrapping up in tremendous fashion.

Very, very cool.
Rossum is a what, no a who.
Boyd might swap bodies, but we haven’t seen any indication of that yet. It is a copy of his partner that introduces himself and says “I use a lot of bodies.”

I’ll be honest, I was shocked by the twist.

I don’t have any words to appreciate this post…..I am really impressed ….the person who created this post surely knew the subject well..thanks for sharing this with us.

Some interesting and well researched information on photos. I’ll put a link to this site on my blog. Thank you!

While I agree that it was a shocking twist, it also felt sort of… fake.

I mean, I sort of wish they’d simply kept Boyd as the good guy Ex Cop who made mistakes and wound up in the Dollhouse, but who genuinely cared for them. I like Twists and unpredictable events, butthis one sort of sucked the life out of the show, and also seemed to really undermine any moral debate. Boyds role was to question the Morals, not ot be a moral villain.

Thats a typical Joss Whedon type twist though. He takes everything you know and flips it all around, especially when it comes to moral ambiguity.

There is no point in looking for clues of the Boyd twist in past episodes. It was clearly a last minute decision because they had to wrap things up and wanted a big shock twist.

I loved the show but the twist was ridiculous and destroyed the integrity of the programme
