StarWars.com seems to change its website design every three years or so…this latest redesign though is obviously some kind of usability designers wet dream.

But it sucks for a sci fi fan.

The previous website had the cool holo projection effect.

This new StarWars.com site? nada. Just basic rollover screen image changes.

The site does a poor job of exposing the wealth of content that starwars.com offers and it does a pathetic job of capturing the essence of the Star Wars brand. Sure it’s an ok website, but it’s not Star Wars. The last three versions of StarWars.com were better – weren’t they?

Yes we here at ShowMeSciFi.com are huge Star Wars fans…but we’re not zealots.

There are problems in Star Wars and things that we can complain about..but to whom? Who will listen? Not you! YOu’ll click away right?

Well know we can ALL vent with the People Vs. George Lucas project. Apparently it’s supposed to be some kind of documentary thing with people sending in their own clips about what they thing is wrong in the Star Wars movies.

It’s a neat idea and a whole lot more participatory than something like Trekkies for example.

Our #1 complaint? That’s easy. Jar Jar Binks!

BIG BIG BIG BIG NEWS FROM LUCAS!!

The new Star Wars Clone Wars animated series will first be a FEATURE FILM that will hit theaters on Friday August 15th!! (let the lineups for the midnight showings begin!!!)

We’ve been writing about the new Star Wars Clone Wars for months…always thinking that it would just be a new TV series on the Cartoon Network so this news comes as a very very NICE SURPRISE.

“I felt there were a lot more Star Wars stories left to tell,” said George Lucas, executive producer of Star Wars: The Clone Wars in a statement. “I was eager to start telling some of them through animation and, at the same time, push the art of animation forward.”

Then in the fall the TV series itself will start with apparently some 30 episodes already in the can. It also looks like Anakin’s new apprentice Ahsoka Tano. will play a major role too.

Are we excited? YOU BET WE ARE!
