Starbuck is DEAD ! – Or is she?! (of course not cause she’s a cylon) March 5, 2007

wow. Battlestar Galactica season 3 episode Malestrom was just WOW.
We’ve known this whole season that Cara Thrace (Starbuck) would be dying this season. That spoiler emerged as a confirmed plot item in the BSG Gag reel .
What I had expected was that Starbuck’s ‘death’ would be in the last episode of Season 3 as a sort of season ending cliff-hanger. But that’s now obviously not the case since Starbuck apparently ‘died’ in the Malestrom episode.
BUT.
As i’ve suspected for some time Starbuck is really one of the final ‘missing’ Cylons…and as such…
WE WILL SEE STARBUCK AGAIN.
Likely on a resurrection ship of some sort and i suspect we’ll see that before the end of season 3.
ALSO..the show didn’t have it all…there is a bonus segment now available on SciFi.com that fills in some important blanks.

“No one” suspected Starbuck to be the Cylon because everyone knew that it was “too obvious.”
i think having Baltar as the Cylon might have been obvious – Starbuck..not so much. The writers have left clues for those that look closely
One of the reasons it WAS obvious is because she was able to fly the Cylon raider with such ease. Imagine trying to repair and fly a completely alien ship, flown by robots. Doesn’t sound so easy. If she were a Cylon it would be much simpler.

Keep in mind, while the Cylon heavy raider was seen for a split second from LEE’S point of view, Starbuck also had her hand on the ejection release. She could have escaped the explosion, and the raider could have caught her mid-air and jumped away just as her viper exploded, thus hiding from Lee’s view for that critical moment of getaway.
I sure hope she is a Cylon.
