Mara Jade Skywalker didn’t have to die at the hands of Darth Caedus.
It was a wasted empty death…
Lucas Licensing apparently allowed this disaster to happen and now we should call on them to reverse it. The Sith have the power to bring back the dead and so too then does the Force.
Whether it is Ben or Luke Skywalker or even someone else I don’t care. I just want Mara Jade back.
To that end we here at ShowMeSciFi have started a petition to Bring Back Mara Jade.

I loved Mara Jade very much, and I was very upset when she died, even though she was supposedly just a character.
In fact, I loved all of the Skywalker/Solo family, and many characters from the YJK series too. Now the events of LOTF make me wonder why I persist. Not to be dramatic or anything, but I’m thinking that things probably won’t be good ever again after this series.
Many are dead, Jacen has gone bad, many others have lost their way, and I’m not too optimistic about Jaina or Ben either. People seem to think that her fate is tied into one or both of her ex-boyfriends (though I really hope it isn’t, ‘cos both of those relationships are BS nowadays anyway), and as for Ben, I really don’t know what to say about the poor kid. I mean, he just lost his mother, for cryin’ out loud!

In hindsight, the LOTF series was a good idea, but like the NJO, it was poorly executed. Once again, they seem to have the galaxy falling apart at the seams, but then the Big 3 of Luke, Han and Leia swoop in to save the day, and come out smelling like roses.
Everyone else, from Mara Jade to Jaina to her two ex-boyfriends, seem to just get the royal screw job!
And the Mandalorians are a cool culture, but in this story, they just fell SO tacked on!
This is nuts! How can you kill Mara Jade, the Emperors Hand! Yes she turned light, and frankly she is one of the best role models out there even if she isn’t a living person. She helped me from a very troubled time.
Mara is essential to Luke to live! She might as well be one of the original members of the original Star Wars Saga! You can’t do that. Light always defeats dark in whatever case…. Don’t take Bens Mother away how would you like it if someone wrote a book about your life and killed your mother off.
Please bring this beautiful role model back.

No, the Star Wars EU sucks lately….
The star wars eu is getting better 7 better. What are you peopletalking about? Yes Chewie died Anakin Solo is dead & now Mara ,but folks be realistic,tjis is war people we have come to know and love in the books are going to die or it will seem a little silly. Mara Jade has been one of my favorite characters since her introduction and I hated to see her go but it was vital to the narrative,just as Anakin hacking off Mace Windu’s arm was. As for me I think LOTF is an amazing storyline and can’t wait till Jania takes Caedus’s head off his shoulders so to KarenTraviss , Troy Deening and the rest keep up the good work.
Let’s look at your statement a little closer. Anakin cutting off Mace’s arm was incidental. It was not the REASON he became Vader. Anakin made that decision AFTER in the form of saving his wife from eternal harm. Yes, Mace died, but it wasn’t essential for Anakin to be turned. Now, Mara Jade intended to kill Jacen because she didn’t want the galaxy to experience another Palpatine. She kept coming at Jacen with everything she had as an assassin (besides a lightsaber, which is unbelievable right there) and Jacen had to defend himself. So, when Jacen does get the chance to kill her with a super Jedi killing poison with a cheap Force illusion of Ben, whom she KNEW was not in the area, is this considered a sacrifice? Or was it self-defense? The definition of sacrifice is an act of giving up something one values for the sake of something that is of greater importance. In this instance, Jacen’s “greater importance” is himself.
I realize people die in war. That’s realistic. Realism has no place in Star Wars. It’s fantasy. We need that fantasy so we can hold on to something we can hope for. I don’t care if it seems silly. The point of Star Wars from the beginning in 1977, was that we see a place outside of our galaxy that is different from our own but yet with similar problems. Yes, there were deaths. But they made sense.
The death of Chewie, Anakin Solo, and especially Mara Jade will never make sense to me outside of marketing ploys to get fans to buy more books. And the sad part is that it’s working. The publishers and Lucasfilm have got the fans under a spell. They’ve created something in the new Star Wars storyline that you can now turn on the TV and see on CNN for free.
Well, Star Wars itself doesn’t suck. In my opinion, it has too many cool qualities for it to suck totally.
But yes, the EU, in particular the LOTF series/era/whatever you want to call it, it IS starting to suck. Especially in regards to the so called “next generation”.
Mara Jade, the best SW character ever created (many thanks to God Zahn for it), dead. Gone. That’s SO cruel !
Fortunately, she died tricked by the Caedus and not in a loyal fight until the end. We will still remember of her as a better one-to-one melee fighter than her murderer.
But “it’s a fact”, now she is dead and we have to move on, so :
1 : Please allow Luke to kill Caedus (he doesn’t deserve to be reedeemed ! and remember Mara’s last word, last wish : “You think…you’ve won, but Luke will crush you”).
2 : Write many books (and games, I loved Mysteries of the Sith years ago) about her life after she married Luke.
3 : And of course, she has to make as many as (reasonably) possible appearences as a Spirit form.

i don’t care what Mara Jade’s death affect the story line.. she’s the only female worth role modelling,… BRING HER BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
