Most trailers are really good. Many are better than the show or film they’re teasing..

Then there is the teaser trailer for Battlestar Gallactica prequel show Caprica.

A show about two families?

Making human looking cylons before they make the toasters?

What the frak is going on??

‘My real name isn’t Adams it’s Adama’??

This doesn’t look good my friends…check out the teaser trailer for yourselves…

Don’t agree with you at all.

It looks great. Can’t wait to watch it.

I also do not agree with you….I tend to not agree with you most of the time 🙂 This looks much better than any of those Stargate shows.

What’s ridiculous about this trailer is that everything looks like a retro version of the US with modern technology. I find it hard to believe that a completely different civilization on a completely different planet is almost exactly the same as ours, except for tiny minor things like the tennis court and the handrails on the train. This looks like it belongs on Lifetime, not part of the might Battlestar Galactica.

I think it looks great myself. Looking forward to any BG fix I can get!

They definitely should have based it on the first cylon war. That, and any show or movie with that red headed guy on it tends to suck ass, in my opinion.

With Battlestar Galactica I saw a show with so much potential disintegrate before my very eyes. All the time I had invested into the characters and their storylines was betrayed at in the last two hours. I found the experience profoundly unsettling and it really made me angry. I – like so many others – had been played like suckers. The entire BSG franchise went down in flames in only two hours but we really should have seen it coming. All that one true god mumbo jumbo. We let it slide because we loved the characters so much. The writing was good and the actors were top-notch. We should have known we were going to get screwed.

But – even through all that – I was still hoping that Caprica would jettison the ridiculous “one god” story-line and make good on the promise of BSG.

In the end I couldn’t even make it through the first five minutes of Caprica. Wow. So bad. So unbelievably horrible. If this show makes it three weeks I’ll be surprised. Caprica is a horrible television show.

BSG’s original promise was subverted and ultimately destroyed by the overriding and ultimately retarded “god-has-a-plan-and-we-have-no-choice-in-the-matter-so-suck-it” arc and it’s plain to see that “Caprica” is a streaming pile of dung from the same dumb-ass mold. Caprica – to put it plainly – is tragically-flawed and ultimately doomed by the same cheap carnival mysticism that turned a powerhouse like BSG into a pathetic joke.

There will be some who just can’t reconcile the brilliance of the first few seasons of the new BSG with the terrible dissappointment of its finale. They have already invested themselves in Caprica – desperately hoping that it will somehow erase all the nagging doubts about how BSG ended. Those simple, powerful and unavoidable holes in the plot they never wanted to fully face.

Bottom line: Caprica is Craprica. An insult to our intelligence. A sci-fi high-school version of a teenage reality show. I would say I’m disappointed. But Ron Moore’s legendary incompetence has insulated me from further betrayals. They can’t hurt me anymore. I really believed in this new imagining of BSG. I fell for their BS. Hook. Line. And. Sinker.

But at least I’m not one of those sad creatures who keeps on defending the worst series finale since The Sopranos. Those guys are beneath my contempt. They remind of of Bush Republicans who took more than eight years to finally realize they bet on the wrong horse. They bet on some religious fanatic who led them down the wrong path and would never admit he made a single mistake.

The BSG writers blew it – big time. Watching the actors go through the motions of the acting out the last episode (knowing it was all a big pile of crap) was painful. For all of us. I’ll never buy into a religious mysticism God-has-a-friggin’-plan crap ever again.

And neither should you.

I’ve seen the Caprica pilot episode, and it is good.

Do not worry BSG fans, it is not merely Battlestar Dramatica – there is more to it.

Everything in the teaser trailer will make sense after you’ve seen it.

I loved it and cannot wait for more.
