Stargate Atlantis producer Joe Mallozzi has a lot of ideas for Stargate Atlantis season 6.
While Season five episode 20 – the 100th episode for the show overall marked the series finale – it wasn’t originally supposed to be that way. Season five was supposed to be the gateway to a new awesome story arc of Season 6.
“It was also intended to be the launching point for a very interesting early season 6 scenario,” Mallozzi blogged. ” With Atlantis back on Earth, why the hell would the I.O.A. ever let it go? And if it remained, which, by all indications seemed likely, what would become of its occupants, especially Ronon and Teyla? Also, with a permanent station in the Milky Way, wouldn‘t Atlantis, logically, cease to be a launch point for gate travel and, instead, become a research center for Ancient technology? Well, I guess you’ll never know the answer to these questions…”
Actually we’ll find out some of them in the Stargate Atlantis movies – but still…Atlantis as a regular weekly series still apparently had a lot of gas left it in when Sci Fi Channel pulled the plug. What a shame.

I think that the movie that they are going to make will hit the ground floor..!! It should be by angry fans of the TV series.
I am VERY disappointed about the cancellation of this show. It was sooo good. I am very disappointed in Sci Fi channel and have moved over to USA anymore. I can’t believe they did this; I felt the same way about Farscape. My brother is/was a huge fan and was so disappointed he refused to follow Ben Bowder over to SG-1 because he felt SG-1 was the lesser show (I love them both, so I had a harder time taking that stance!) I don’t know if I will give SG Universe a chance because I feel like doing so will somehow show support for the cancellation of SG-A. I feel bereft!
My husband and I travel all over and are home on weekends. My daughter used to tape stargate atlantis for us to watch when we got home. It was our favorite show. I can’t beleive it got cancelled. We are very disappionted. I hope you reconsider how many angry and sad fans you have out there, and reconsider running a season six.
Why did you cancel the sho wwhy it was awsome the whole story of sg1 and atlantis was super so please tell me why did you done souch a thing and canceled the show i know more than 200 people that watch that show and the know more and more people and in the end you will see that the whole world was watching that show i m sad becouse i dont know what will hapen to atlantis and you almost destroyed the entire stargate hystory i hope that you will continue the show please i count on that please i want sga back pleaseeeeee 😀

will who eveer it is that is scuduling the programes get there heads out of there buts, when you have a series that is working ,leave it alone ,and doent’t be stupid and drop it!! you need to get some one with some branes!
Wait are these ppl crazy! I writing from Trinidad and Tobago. The series is well watched and anticipated even in the Caribbean. Scifi you lose major points for this one.
Well, at any rate, the show had to end some time. I mean SG-1 which was my favorite ended. I’m sorry to see both of them go, I was sorry when Richard Dean Anderson (a.k.a. Macgyver) took a supporting role instead of his ever so loved staring role, and then he was gone the next season. I mean that guy practically made that show for me. Yeah the storylines were excellent, especially in season 5, but Mr. Anderson really made that show shine. He gave it that character that made you feel like you could be there. It was never the same after he left. It was never the same after he took that supporting role. Anyhow, maybe they’ll do this Stargate Universe thing some people have mentioned now. They’ll have to come up with some new stuff, but they seem to picking good writers for this show. I mean the storylines are really good. I really hope they’ll use the all of the writers they had in Stargate SG-1 season 5 because that season was the best of all their seasons. The writers were really on fire during that season popping out one good story after another with maybe one or two dry episodes that I can’t even recall.
Feel upset about the cancellation of Atlantis Season 6. Really hope there will be ongoing show for Stargate Atlantis. Lovely characters and plots. sigh!
