The IDIOTS that run SyFy have once again proved why they are IDIOTS.

Stargate Universe – SGU – has been canceled.

That’s right after 2.5 seasons, SyFy is pulling the plug. They let SG-1 run for ten years, Stargate Atlantis for five and now SGU for 2.5.  Next show will only run for 1.25 seasons at this rate.

To make matters worse, SyFy didn’t even have the common decency to tell the actors on the show first — many of them found out first by seeing it on Twitter – including fan favorite Eli (David Blue).

Sure there were a few slow episode of SGU in season one. But season 2 has been kickass – except maybe for the recent mid-season cliffhanger.

The show had potential and was beginning to live up to it.

What’s the point of having a Science Fiction network — if it won’t support original Science Fiction programming?

And after more than a decade of Stargate – how the FRAK could SyFy pull the plug?

They SCREWED the show over by putting it in a horrible Tuesday time slot this year, which should have been our first indication that the FRAKKERS at SyFy were aiming to kill this show.

We think it’s time that a new SciFi Network emerges — one that will support the shows that fans love – and one that has the business sense to figure out how to make a profit while doing that.

Sorry, but you’re an idiot. I watched, and loved, BSG. I like SG, but watching it before or after was like getting into the kiddie pool after being in the deep end.

SGU was an attempt to make the series more….serious! More weighty! But the douchebags who watch “Sabre Tooth Tiger!!” did not like SGU. oh, no.

With all the crap SYFY has been broadcasting and they cancel SGU!?! If there is any truth to this, they are “PATHETIC”. Maybe they will replace with some Retarded Reality Show, focusing on how “Lame SYFY Execs. can chew gum and walk at the same time”!

Sorry, but I think the fans deserve to lose this one. Less than 1 million viewers per episode, SG fans bitching about everything from day one onwards – why wouldn’t SyFy cancel it?

Time and again he people whose opinions matter – the viewers – have failed to support the show. This is merely the end result. I personally loved it, and wanted it to succeed, but I can’t help but feel it never got a chance from it’s intended audience who criticised the life out of it for not being like its parents.

true that. i hate this SGU, hate the acting, the team, i mean ridiculously brought together. it’s like their whole team is a chaos, i wonder how they survive their daily routine. i mean, seriously, how the fk do they survive with that? bs show. good riddance.

Thank goodness SyFy has all those other good shows to keep fans interested (oh wait, no they don’t). SyFy has turned its back on its viewers. It was a better station when they showed 24 hour marathons every day. Now they have crappy B movies (are they even B movies?) that are hyped beyond imagination and are only entertianing for the first 5 minutes. Hopefully SyFy will fail and be bought out. I totally agree there needs to be a new SciFi network that actually lives up to the name.

Thankfully, SGU has been cancelled.

SGU’s failure, in my opinion was due to the fact that

the pilot wasn’t screened to mature stargate fans.

You know, the fans that have money, not the teens

that can’t decide on buying food, spending on the

cable bill, or a stargate dvd. If the pilot had been

screened properly, then SGU would have seen a

complete re-write before airing.

The lesson learned in this expensive mistake called

SGU, is that you can’t change an Sci-Fi,

Action-Adventure brand like Stargate into something

that fans can’t recognize. I hope this is a lesson

learned to producers, directors, executives and

writters. Just because some producer says

something will work, doesn’t mean that it will.

Please, next time, use a focus group of brand fans,

and one of non-fans. Make sure that the existing fans

like your changes, and THEN see if the non-fans will

be reeled-in by your new changes.

It falls under the technical term: DUH!

Unfortunately, Stargate fandom had to pay the price

of this inproperly planned and researched series.

Syfy cancels this and Caprica and will probably add more pro-wrestling and crappy B movies to the schedule. There’s are no TV series left on Syfy that I watch. I’ve wanted to watch Eureka, Warehouse 13, and Sanctuary but I have no faith in Syfy to let them end properly.

SyFy, GO F-URSELVES and hire some real S&M so you can be really F-ED!!! IN THE ARSE!!

All the great shows you’ve been canceling lately, You better be ashamed!

Oh, and BTW, if you’re soo concerned about the ratings? how about checking the how the show is behaving also OUT of the US and Canada?

Stargate is VERY popular here in Portugal!
And same goes for Jericho!

one more thing.. if you cancel Eureka without giving it a good ending you better start thinking on getting other jobs because you SUCK at these!

Sgu blew chunks. I was all for a different take but SGU was garbage. Had potential but it defined itself by what it wasn’t. Not what it was.

It wasn’t SG1 but wanted tbd BSG

It wasn’t SGA but wanted to be like Lost.

SGU was a soap opera not a scifi show. Good riddance

Like most shows that get canceled. They wait until they start to get good. SGU seemed like it was finally starting to get some speed. Season one was a little slow. The Kino (handy cam style shooting) moments and episodes honestly sucked. Second season was way better. Quicker pace, less singular plot lines, and just started to get interesting. must have been the Lou Diamond Curse. Hope it finds a new home.

The remaining episodes of SGU will be shown on SyFy channel starting 3/7 10pm
