The end of time – which was out on Xmas day and New Years – was one fine special – and on Feb 2 it’ll be available on DVD too (amazon has a good price on the pre-order).
The end of time is the end for David Tennant – and it was one awesome special. It saw the return of the master and the return of Galifrey (home of the time lords) itself!
And oh yeah Timothy Dalton (James Bond) is an awesome Lord President of Galifrey too.
Yeaah it’s saaad to see tennant go, but the end of the end of time special is soo cheesy that it’s clear his time was up.
The DVD set also include the other specials – water of mars and the next doctor and some new footage from behind the scenes too.

Michelle Ryan – best known to American TV views as the failed Bionic Woman
– and in the UK from her stint on EastEnders – is set to appear in the new Doctor Who movie – Planet of the Dead.
Planet of the Dead gets it BBC debut this Saturday April 11th and the trailer looks pretty sweet.

Matt who??? That’s exactly what we said. The BBC has named a virtual nobody to be the next Doctor Who and the 11th Time Lord in the history of the show.
Matt Smith will be the youngest looking Doctor Who ever too.
“David Tennant has made the role his own, brilliantly with grace, talent and persistent dedication,” Smith said in a BBC press release. ” I hope to learn from the standards set by him. The challenge for me is to do justice to the show’s illustrious past, my predecessors and most importantly to those who watch it. I really cannot wait.”
Here’s the full video announcement from the BBC.

A standard Sci Fi plot tool here – what happens if one simple action doesn’t occur – it ends up unravelling a Tapestry (yes a pun on the Star Trek TNG episode Tapestry) that in this episode’s case is the whole of Donna Noble’s experience with Doctor this season.
Brilliantly executed and a nice romp through all the events thus far – so a good hour of SciFi.
The best part (for us) was clearly the end when Donna realizes that she won’t make it in time to change her actions in the past and makes a decision – that ultimately changes her history.
As for the time distortion insect on her back – that wasn’t terribly clear to us – but still not a bad idea.
Every season needs a recap episode of sorts – and this is it for Series Four – it’s all go forward from here.

We know that David Tennant’s days as the good doctor are numbered. One of those numbers is the upcoming christmas special – The Next Doctor – which air in the UK in three weeks.
The BBC posted its first preview the other day in the middle of a telethon it was running. It sure looks like a Dickens Doctor Who Xmas to me…

I like David Tennant – he’s a great Doctor and he’s really grown on me. But his time is now almost done as he had now announced he’s leaving Doctor Who.
Looks like Tennant is not Tom Baker – he doesn’t have the same sense of loyalty to fans or the franchise. At ShowMeSciFi.com we are TERRIBLY disappointed in this news and very UPSET.
