Here at ShowMeSciFi.com, we’ve been Matt Smith fans from Day one and his first episode as a Doctor Who (Eleventh Hour)
He’s funnier than David Tennant.
He’s tough.
He’s cerebral.
He’s got real charisma.
oh and he’ll also be the Doctor deep into 2014 too.

OK we’re a little behind on Doctor Who Season 7, but thanks to iTunes we’ve just caught up on a few episode. With episode 3 – A Town Called Mercy – we knew from the trailer that we’d see ‘The Gunslinger’ a futuristic cyborg killer. We knew it would be a Western Theme too.
All Good.
As always an awesome Doctor Who Matt Smith twist too – with the monster — not really being a monster.
the only thing we didn’t care for was the lack of screen time for the Ponds. Both Amy and Rory really got short changed..but we know that in coming episode this season..the Ponds will get more than their fair share.

Doctor Who has no shortage of enemies..bad guys like the Daleks, the Cybermen, the Master (remember him?)…
and no new Doctor – Matt Smith – will face an Arnie Schwartzenegger like Terminator, decked out in Westworld type western firefly garb…
sure looks like great fun…the episode airs this Sat on the BBC.

The first episode of Doctor Who season 7 Asylum of the Daleks
by all account is a massive win for the Doctor Who franchise.
According to Entertainment Weekly:
The Saturday telecast was seen by 1.6 million viewers, which is both a time period high and a series best for the show since it started airing on the network in 2009.
Always a good sign when a new season starts off well…

New trailer for the upcoming season of Doctor Who is now out. Looks like we’ve got some wild west action and a new bad guy/cyborg..
Though apparently there might be some Daleks too.

Doctor Who: Season Six, Part 1
is done (no we haven’t reviewed them all yet but don’t worry we will..)
The good ppl at the BBC are already teasing us with the second half of the Season 6 and as has been the case in the last few seasons, the end will (hopefully) tie right back to the first episode…you know..
THE ONE WHERE THE DOCTOR GET SHOT BY AN ASTRONAUT AND DIES.
yeaah that one..
Before he gets around that…looks like he’s got a few more monsters to deal with first.
Craig Ferguson lost Doctor Who intro – AWESOME – It’s about the triumph of intellect over brute force December 3, 2010

We love Craig Ferguson.
And now that new footage that was ‘lost’ from the original broadcast last month of this doctor who show interview with Matt Smith has surfaced…we love Craig even more.
Apparently Ferguson’s producers told him 5 minutes before the show started that he didn’t have the legal rights to use the Doctor Who theme music – but luckily someone had a video recorder handy and recorded the ‘cold’ version before the actual broadcast.
In this little bit – Ferguson clearly explains why ‘geeks’ love the Doctor – because it’s about the triumph of intellect and romance over brute force and cynicism.
Sit back and enjoy!
now here is what actually aired .. now it all makes sense!

The BBC has releases a set of really funny and interesting out-takes from Matt Smith’s first season as Doctor Who –with the lovely Amy Pond in tow of course.
An interesting discussion on why the Tardis is a police box..and does the Doctor have to change the light on the top? And does he feel stupid about traveling in a wooden box?
Then there is an un-released scene from the Vampire of Venice episode – with Amy hitting on the Doctor — funny stuff for sure, but we can see why it got cut from the episode that aired. Then again, Amy (as always) does make a good point about the simple fact that all of the Doctor’s companions have been women…

We know that David Tennant’s days as the good doctor are numbered. One of those numbers is the upcoming christmas special – The Next Doctor – which air in the UK in three weeks.
The BBC posted its first preview the other day in the middle of a telethon it was running. It sure looks like a Dickens Doctor Who Xmas to me…
