Sarah Connor? ??

Looks like it’s not just the Terminator who will be back but Sarah Connor as well.

Multiple news outlets are reporting that filming has just wrapped on The Sarah Connor Chronicles which is a Terminator spinoff series.

Summer Glau who is well known to scifi fans from her work on Firefly (and the “Serenity” movie) plays Cameron, a female Terminator. There is also a male named Cromartie (Owain Yeoman). Apparently it’s some some of T2 type scenario where one Terminator is good the other evil.

The series starts at the end of T2 with Sarah Conner (not played by Linda Hamilton – i know that really really really sucks -) played by actress Lena Headey on the run with the future leader of humanity John Connor.

THANK GOODNESS it doesn’t deal with the T3 crap. That movie just plain sucked.

“The Sarah Connor Chronicles” is set to premiere on Fox this fall. I’ll be sure to post clips as soon as I can track them down. That is unless the Governator tracks her down first – and here for your viewing pleasure..that infamous clip from the original.

Starbuck is DEAD ! – Or is she?! (of course not cause she’s a cylon) March 5, 2007

wow. Battlestar Galactica season 3 episode Malestrom was just WOW.

We’ve known this whole season that Cara Thrace (Starbuck) would be dying this season. That spoiler emerged as a confirmed plot item in the BSG Gag reel .

What I had expected was that Starbuck’s ‘death’ would be in the last episode of Season 3 as a sort of season ending cliff-hanger. But that’s now obviously not the case since Starbuck apparently ‘died’ in the Malestrom episode.

BUT.

As i’ve suspected for some time Starbuck is really one of the final ‘missing’ Cylons…and as such…

WE WILL SEE STARBUCK AGAIN.

Likely on a resurrection ship of some sort and i suspect we’ll see that before the end of season 3.

ALSO..the show didn’t have it all…there is a bonus segment now available on SciFi.com that fills in some important blanks.

Just came across this vid (on YouTube of course).

Who needs ‘Lola’ when you can see Weird Al singing ‘Yoda’ live. Great song but at least half the fun with this vid is the audience reactions – fanboy central!!

What is your favorite picture of Saturn? March 2, 2007

This post is about Science Fact not Science Fiction.

NASA has released a new block of pictures of Saturn from its Cassini space probe which is currently orbiting the ringed gas giant.

“Finally, here are the views that we’ve waited years for,” said Dr. Carolyn Porco, Cassini imaging team leader at the Space Science Institute in Boulder, Colo. “Sailing high above Saturn and seeing the rings spread out beneath us like a giant, copper medallion is like exploring an alien world we’ve never seen before. It just doesn’t look like the same place. It’s so utterly breath-taking, it almost gives you vertigo.”

Get the whole story and more images at the NASA Cassini Site.

Star Wars Rebellion has been a tough series for me to get into for a simple reason.
The issues don’t seem to come out regularly (ie. monthly) so i haven’t been able to get them and keep track.

THANK GOODNESS FOR TRADE PAPERBACKS.

Star Wars: Rebellion Volume 1–My Brother, My Enemy collects issues 1-5 of this difficult to collect series. It takes place in the period between Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back and introduces another link from Luke Skywalker’s past.

It’s not brilliant stuff but it is very readable and good to look at. I certainly enjoyed this comic though i’m not sure that i’m going to go out of my way to try and find upcoming new issues when and if they ever do come out.
