We’ve known since at least November that Jaina would be on the cover of the final book of the Legacy of the Force series.
Now the first images of the actual book cover are available and it looks to us that she’s going to have a showdown with her brother Jacen – Darth Caedus.
That is a confrontation that is – Inevitable – maybe that should’ve been the name of the book. Then again maybe Invincible refers to Jacen/Caedus….
Invincible’s release date is set for May 13, 2008. Amazon is already taking pre-orders on this the final installment of the Legacy of the Force – it’s a hardcover so it’s more dough than the paperbacks. Amazon currently has a neat offer though, they’re starting at 34% off list price and if you pre-order now they’ll give you an extra 5% discount. Sure beat paying full price the day it comes out..but i wonder if they’ll actually ship it to arrive on May 13th..

if you google legacy of the force invincible jedi forum, then click on jedi forum, just go towards the last of the messages, there are like i60 now, and you can read them. just keep hitting the last messages. They are blacked out, but just click on the beginning of the blacked out part and hold it in, just scoll down to unblack the passages.
I imagine many of you to be in the same situation as me in that you’ve been reading these novels over the bulk of the last twenty years or more; I recall reading the Thrawn trilogy in the fourth grade when I saw all of six various books or whatnot were available at the time for Star Wars. Over the years I’ve read and reread them all and usually looked forward with great anticipation to the next one because on the whole I thought having a continuous story was a neat idea in that one lousy book couldn’t ruin the whole storyline. Now I find myself reading eight lousy books and fully expecting the ninth one to be so awful that I will finally stop reading them. Anyone else actually not just regretting this series but also actually not looking forward to the last book of it?
booo to all you whiners out there. if u dont like it dont buy it. i think that ever since vector came out that the books have had a better story than lucas could have come up with.
in ep. 2 windu says that their ability to sense the force has diminished. is this palpy’ s doing or is it cuz of how crazy the galaxy has become?
general myxylpitilyk this question is for you since maloch and wilhlm have deserted us.
CELEBRATION JAPAN WILL BE HELD IN A TOWN CALLED CHIBA. HOW COOL IS THAT? ITS 420 TIME FOR STAR WARS
Darth chebbis, did you check out that spoiler site? That is where I always go, but not this time. I want to be surprised with everything that happens. Like last book I knew that Daala came back and that Palleon got killed by tahiri.
Darth chebbis, I actually went to the franklin institute in Philly yesterday for their star wars exhibit. It was pretty cool. Saw some actual props that they used in the star wars films. example, lightsabers, saw dooku’s and maul’s, blasters, wardrobe, and stuff like that.
Bored, it all depends on what happens at the end of this book to see if it was a good series or not. I feel if Caedus doesn’t “win” in a way, the series wouldn’t be that good to me. But that would be my opinion. Some might love it no matter what. But i will continue to read the novels that come out after this series. Will you read the Corascant nights triology that starts this summer? It is set right after Episode 3.
Lord Maloch has been destroyed, as his ideas were clouding his better judgement, in his dieing breath he mentioned that a Mlicsky would have taken up the mantel of Lord though I can see that his trust was taken for granted. I’m still to report to this newly appointed Dark Lord. What is thy bidding….
Before this if there was a crappy storyline it was three books out of one hundred or so usually and could be glossed over. Nine books is fully capable of ruining the future storyline. If you’re going to kill a character do it for a reason that further’s the story. Killing the Mara Jade character worked for the tone of the story. Killing Palleon didn’t seem to do much but didn’t hurt anything either, killing Jacen for the purpose of summing everything up in a nice neat “good triumphs over evil, Long Live the Jedi” package would be completely out of line.
As for the story in general I’m sorry but my opinion is that this series is little more than an overly dramatic soap opera designed to sell nine books with shallow storyline, no real dialogue, nonsensical tie in’s that seem to accomplish nothing (except perhaps to set up future novels by these specific authors). Seriously, was there even a legitimate reason to have the Mandalorian storyline at all, other than it plays to Karen Traviss’ little corner of the market? As for the Coruscant Nights stories and such I would read them as they are set prior to this fiasco of a series.
Bored, that’s what i have been thinking all along. I just mentioned that I want Caedus to win at the end of Invincible. And the reason is what you stated above. Why would you make a central, core character go evil and sith just to kill him in the last book. It makes no sense. If they wanted to do that they should have had Luminya train a different person to become a sith lord. I mean Jacen was the “next generation” luke. He could have maybe surplanted him as the new Jedi leader in the future. They need Caedus ALIVE after this book. Heck, if he doesn’t win, have him live to fight another day. If not, the same arguement. Why make him become a sith, kill people-mara-, be the cause of many, many deaths, just to reedeem him in the last book. Noo! You still ruin a great character. In my opinion, for Jacen, it is sith forevermore with him till his death. If not, the authors dropped the ball.
mlisky i wenty on and read something about an arcona thats not izaz wal and then i decided i want a surprise too. with daala it would have been so much better if i didnt know it was her pallean called with his drum. still daala is a great villain/antihero. shes got the superweapons.or at least the research to build them. here comes the nostril of palpatine as han solo called it.
jacen will live. they are gonna have to let him live somehow. im still hoping she strips him of the force and he regains it by trvelling to a sith hotspot besides korriban. tha sphere was on ziost so that could be a starting point for him. they could get a good series of that. i would love if he became the leader of a new empire.
couracant nights looks good but im goin nuts waiting for luke skywalker and the shadows of mindor. chewies back people.rawhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
lord shadowspawn might be a punk or a very bad man but im betting the shadowtroopers are the best stormtroopers of their time…….. besides the FIST that is.
what about the darth plageuis book. is it postponed or cancelled?
i meant vector prime in my last post. not vector the comics thing.
I was very pleased to read that Caedus does in fact have the Remnant behind him. I wasn’t sure at the end of Revelations as Daala, I imagined, would have taken control but, I guess she has no need for the Moffs, or any love for that matter. I was hopeing that she would side with Lord Caedus, though after the murder of Gil P. I would also imagine that she’d probabley side with Jaina as she’s with the Mandos. I just read the back of the book on del ray. I took the day off on the 13th.
I’m also very curious about the Darth Plageuis book. I have a feeling that Anikan was more than just a means to an end as far as Lord Sidious is concerned. What makes me think that? Well, mostly that part in EP. 3 were Sidious finds Vader and places his hand on his head…would he have done that to Maul? If Anikan was created by Plegious or Sidious then I believe there may have been a soft spot in Sidious for the boy….possibly.
