Flash Gordon to be played by Smallville Alum April 11, 2007

Eric Johnson is set to be Flash Gordon in the upcoming series set to air on SciFi in August. ShowMeSciFi first reported on the re-emergence of Flash Gordon earlier this year.
Eric Johnson, played the role of Whitney Fordman on Smallville from 2001 to 2004. He was the first man to come between Clarke and Lana.
SciFi has ordered 22 episodes of Flash Gordon to start (if it’s good let’s hope they go for more). Flash Gordon is hopefully going to be a reimagined version (think of BSG) though its set to include Dale Arden and Dr. Hans Zarkov and of course the archtype of evil Ming the Merciless.
No word yet on theme song – but let’s hope its Queen inspired.
