Jacen Solo’s Sith Name is..Darth Caedus! May 18, 2007

Thnx to jwash24 who posted as a comment. ShowMeSciFi has now been able to independently verify that indeed Darth Caedus is Jacen Solo’s Sith name.
Jacen’s Sith name was chosen by a contest and follows his long descent into the dark side in the Legacy of the Force series (which is the most awesome Star Wars series in years if not of ALL TIME).
He takes his Sith name in Sacrifice set to come out in just a few weeks, but early copies are all already being leaked by the publisher.
So who does Jacen have to Sacrifice to get his Sith name…i could hardly believe it myself (and if you really want to know just look at the cover of the book and it’s quite obvious)..and i’m actually going to suspend dis-belief if you don’t mind until i get my hands on a copy of Sacrifice on May 29th.

i really have to agree with dave the insomniac on the anakin solo comine back thing, i mean he is long dead and to all the anakin solo fans who want him to come back. GET OVER HIM, i think either vergere or nom anor should come back and as for caedus i think he would be smashed into crap by luke or jaina solo.
I don’t know if someone else has already said this, but i think that boba fett will be the one to kill jacen/caedus, there will probably be a big showdown between luke and jacen, also ben and jacen, where jacen will be injured and then boba will finish him off.
That would be a huge anti-climax for all of the expectations of an epic battle if Jacen was killed off by a non Force user, especially an ancient one like Boba Fett. I for one, would be quite disatisfied with that. I am expecting however, that someone will have a great battle with Jacen and either end up killing him or redeeming him to the light side. I can’t decide who this will be though. Jaina seems an obvious choice, yet the authors seem to have hardly done anything with her character and are pretty much using her as a minor player… plus the fact that it is implied that Jacen is far superior to her in Force and lightsaber fighting skills. HIs down fall if he did end up fighting her in the end would most likely be his arrogance. Luke also seems likely, but the fact that he finished off the sith last time makes me believe that he will pass on the legacy to another, or else he would pretty much become an imortal element in the series. Han and Leia I could hardly see, mainly because Traviss was asserting that Leia definately would not have the stomach to fight her son on that sort of life or death context. My best guess is that it would be Ben, an idea that seems to me to be supported both by the title of the series and the fact that he has become the closest one to Jacen in the past books.
in exile jacen has a possible vision of leia coming abord the anakin solo to kill him. there may come a point when jacen is about to kill han when he realizes this will bring that future to pass.
Also maybe the ressurection power can only be done by someone incredibly powerful. the skywalker family is the most powerful in history so they can do it but not many if any others can.
i still think that jacen solo can be redeemed after all he has not gone on all out genocide like most sith do as for who i think will be redeeming jacen i have a strong feeling that i will be someone like ben or luke skywalker or maybe even leia u nvr know
Jaina is the Sword of the Jedi… She will kill Jacen.
I agree TOTALLY with Dave the insomniac’s ideas and opinions. It’s refreshing to know that an other person shares the same ideas about jacen and his philosophy and is so outspoken about it. Congrats!
I think it’s possible for Jacen to be redeemed, but that just seems to be a repeat of Anakin Skywalker’s tale. If Jacen is ultimately redeemed, something has to be different; otherwise, we’ve just watched a rerun of episodes 1-3, and I’m honestly not a huge fan of the prequels, lol. The whole point of LotF is to take Star Wars in a new direction. Honestly, I’m not sure how they’re gonna end it… but I like that. I like not being able to predict the ending, for a change…
So here’s another question: what role do you think the Mandalore army is going to play in the upcoming civil war?
I love the fact that I am 100% certain I have no idea where all of this is going to go.
I know a lot of people are pissed because Mara died and they do or dont think some of the family dynamics are being handled right, but I love the ride this is taking me on. Very, VERY exciting reading.
Jacen will not be redeemed, because there is nothing to redeem to! He does what he does for the good of many. If the novels follow through with the comic series, then Jacen will pave the way for the discarding of the rule of two when he finds himself highly outnumbered by the jedi and still respecting the rule of two. The sith have never been obliterated. There is only a handfull of dark jedi who don’t count to carry the sith torch. There has never been a complete eradication of either jedi OR sith in history. There is no one else BUT jacen to carry the sith torch, so until a suitable apprentice has been found, he CANNOT die.
