Sure Wesley Crusher was a bit of a weenie on Star Trek TNG but Wil Wheaton is a cool geek.
He’s also very honest and he’s issued one of the most shocking critiscims of J.J Abrams and his reinvention of Star Trek with Star Trek XI. On his blog Wheaton wrote:
Speaking as a lifelong geek, my knee-jerk reaction when I hear someone talking about “reinventing” something like Trek is that it will be a tower of suck, built out of an endless supply of Jar-Jars and midichlorians.
.. not entirely sure how I feel about the “reinventing.” At least the people who totally fucked Star Trek up aren’t involved, but why does anyone need to “reinvent” Star Trek at all? There’s a good reason it managed to endure through four decades and several generations of Trekkies and casual viewers alike.

Wow, that is really impressive for someone like to that to come and completely be honest and saying that the people that are managing Star trek’s future are jackasses. Enterprise sucked, this seems like more of the same this film, showing yet again that the writters just dont get it!
it is a bit rich for someone who played potentially the worst trek character ever to come out with a comment like that! He didn’t even act well with what he was given by the writers!! I know it was cheesy 80’s camp but this guy was just an embarrassment.

Vince, if you think Enterprise was good then you simply do not know Star Trek at all, Trekkies didn’t ruin the show…it ruined itself…lame storytelling, lame actors and a totally idiotic/non-canon look at Star Trek, that’s why it dropped from 9 million viewers to 2 million in less than a year after it was aired.
The Star Trek movie will suck, how many times must we beat the alternate timeline/time travel dead horse? i guess once more cause JJ is hitting it hard, JJ may be a good director but one thing he is not is a Star Trek fan and he’s admitted to it many times…he is however a Star Wars fan, and this is what it’ll be Star Trek in a Star Wars universe…hopefully the new crew of the unecessarly re-arranged Enterprise will be able to find that thermal exhaust port quickly.

I don’t like JJ Abrahms and basically I think he sucks. He is obviously making movies because he is part of a nepotistic degenerate crowd that is so prevalent in the Entertainment Industry. I loved mission impossible the series and he ruined it. I liked Star Trek (original) and he will ruin that too. He has no talent and survives only because of the degenerate virtually illiterate population that exists in the United States at this time. JJ Abrahms is a perfect reflection of such a society and thus many of you like his work. Just look at JJ’s ugly face that says it all!
Lets face it… Gene Rodenberry is rolling in his grave. His body wasn’t even cold yet when Majel starting whoring out Trek lock stock and phaser. So what we have coming now is nothing less than 90210 in space. I think I’m gonna hurl. Would somebody please shoot me befre the #!*%#! muppet version comes out.
Wil Wheaton’s right. I mean, what’s next? Star Trek: Friends? Star Trek: Terminator? CSI: Star Trek? Star Trek and the Director’s Screenplay? Lord of the Treks?
And Wesley Crusher was a cool character.
And Abrams is just as good a director as a wet sponge. Go cry in your Vader costume, JJ!
