Remember Alien Nation? The alien cop/human cop scifi show from the 80’s?
Welcome to ReMake Hell friends SciFi is planning on restarting the series.
Well maybe not remake hell – especially if they reboot the series with different characters – maybe a female cop this time around

This is one that I think would be good. Bring it up to date.
But maybe someone else besides SyFi to do it?
That would be great. It was a great series, and it was a mistake not to continue it. It could have been as good as Star Trek or Star Wars, without the space ships.
I enjoyed the movie, the series, and the tv movies they made from the series. I would definitely watch a remake, but I hope they do it justice. The original show had a lot of interaction between Newcomers and Earth people, as well as an inside view of Newcomer families showing how they cope with being in an alien culture. One aspect of the movie that I don’t remember from the series is the Earth people’s anxieties over the Newcomers being smarter than them and taking all the good jobs.
The series did address human concerns about newcomers knocking them from the top of the food chain, as it were, and many episodes were driven by groups trying to prevent this.
I am really uncomfortable about the idea of a remake; I fear many of the elements which made the original series good will no longer resonate with viewers and we’ll end up with a gimmicky cop show.
Is this still a thing? If they remake it, I’m curious if they will retain teh character of Buck. His journey was very compelling to me back when I was a teen watching this. He was very much cought between two worlds. Too old to be as entusiastic and non-remembering of where they came form as Emily and too young to be as grateful just to not be slaves as his parents, Cathy and Albert.
Does anyone know if this is just stuck in development hell?

I wish they would make up their minds about this show. I thought it was much better than other shows and would be a great time to remake this one.
