Stargate Universe – Pain – Lt. James is a Nympho Nutbag May 17, 2010

Stargate Universe –Pain – started off in a way that made us second guess if we were watching the right channel.
Lt. James (that’s her breasts on the left) semi-naked rolling around with Lt. Scott. If we wanted to watch porn, we wouldn’t watch Syfy. But hey that’s Lt. James role in this show. She’s the disturbed nympho that craves getting Lt Scott back and would kill him if she could.
Why every shot of her focuses on her breasts is all about her role in the show. It’ll be interesting to see if she ever moves beyond the sex to be a real character or if the camera is just stuck on her for one reason alone.
Fringe – Over There – is one freaky place with Fringe division of Department of Defence May 14, 2010

Over There – a parallel Earth where Olivia Dunham is an auburn haired vixen, broils is a colonel and fringe division is part of the Department of Defence is one weird place.
And oh yeah, Walter Bishop is not a nutcase, he’s the Secretary of Defence.
Talk about a freakshow mirror universe.
What I want to know though, is how do they plan on getting back to the other side? Will Dr. Bell help? and why isn’t the fabric of Crazy Walter’s Earth ripped too? Or is that all part of the Pattern that we were supposed to be following in the first place?
FlashForward Flashes Back with Roger Ramjet May 14, 2010

This week’s episode of FlashForward had a cool flash back with Gabriel (Dr. Baltar from Battlestar Galactica) – watching retro cartoon:
Roger Ramjet – Hero of Our Nation
That sure was a blast from the past wasn’t it? It’s been a VERY long time since we’ve seen or heard Roger Ramjet anywhere – so I nice tip of the hat from the FlashForward ppl to SciFi geeks.
While you can now buy the an entire deluxe DVD with all the Roger Ramjets episodes at Amazon (Roger Ramjet – Hero of Our Nation (Deluxe Collector’s Edition) .. it’s the intro music that we remember most…

So we finally get caught up to the the flash forward date…has it really been that long?
Amazing how Benford got Janice Hawk to spill the beans on her CIA involvement…how she didn’t end up dead at the end of the show…we don’t know, but she’s got to have a target painted on her head now.
So what’s next? Another blackout??

This comic book is all about one thing – the destruction of New Krypton.
No we didn’t see this coming. After two years of following the New Krypton saga, we’ve grown fond of the place.
New Krypton/Kandor has been part of the Superman universe for what 40 years or more at this point? and now it’s GONE.
Unbelievable.
And all destroyed by Luthor/Lane via Reactron — killer of Supergirl’s dad too – now killer of her mom and Kandor itself.
We’re still in shock.

Buck Rogers #11 Fighting the Man in the Moon May 12, 2010

We like Buck Rogers — it just keeps on getting weirder as we learn more about Buck’s future Earth.
Some weird moon robots/colony have now destroyed the Han — good riddance – but now it’s time for the United Orgs to go to the moon.
It’s just one thing after another in this comic, with little time for actual character development — it’s all one crazy situation morphing into the next at a rapid pace.

V – Fruition. Hobbes is a Traitor May 12, 2010

Fruition was another interesting episode of V — with a twist that we weren’t expecting.
Yeaah we knew that Hobbes was a scumbag mercenary — but no we didn’t think he’d sell out his new pals.
No doubt he’s got a backup of the data from Porter (better known to us as the scottish Doctor Carson Beckett from Stargate Atlantis), and no doubt the V’s will double cross him too.
Speaking of double cross, Joshua and Lisa will both turn against Anna at some point won’t they? It’s just a matter of time — and destroying all the soldiers would be a great first place to start.
Stargate Universe – Lt. James Sabotage – and how did Chloe, Scott and Eli get back so fast? May 9, 2010

Sabotage was an interesting episode on many levels.
How the heck did Scott, Eli and Chloe get back so fast? you mean they just stayed on that planet hoping that the remote would activate?? really?
AND finally loads of screen time for Lt. James – though kind of lame that we didn’t see her actually sabotage the systems…that might have been good to see.
The big mystery now is what happened to Dr. Franklin? Has he somehow become ‘one’ with Destiny such that he has ascended to become part of the shiP?

So Peter finally meets his real dad – and he’s a Secretary of some political dept on the other side (secretary of war?).
And why were the shape shifters after the other ppl’s brains, when they clearly knew where Peter was?
Makes no sense.

So the FBI has now finally realized that Simon is suspect zero and a major scum bag.
Huzzah.
And oh yeah, blue hand dude is back and you can’t escape fate.
Interesting episode but not at the same level of the last two episodes…heck we didn’t even see the double-agent Janis Hawk this time at alll!

GPS voices are always a bit creepy don’t you think?
Wouldn’t it be great to get the Dark Lord of the Sith instead?
TomTom users now have that choice – which is reason enough for a Star Wars fan to buy a TomTom GPS.
The TomTom ppl have also now put together a behind the scenes video of them getting Vader to give the directions — it’s totally hilarious.
Star Wars: Legacy #47 The Sith Kill All Life on Dac. May 5, 2010

Make not mistake about it — the Sith of Star Wars Legacy show no mercy and no compassion to anyone.
Just look at what they do to Dac in this issue.
We didn’t like this issue — large parts of the story don’t make sense.
For example, how did the GA jump into the system undetected in the first place?
Also if the virus took a few days to wipe out the whole population – doesn’ t that imply that even those that escaped were still susceptible to the toxin? Making escape irrelevant right?

V – Hearts & Minds. What Are the V’s looking for? May 5, 2010

Ok after 11 episodes (with this week’s Hearts and Minds) we still don’t know what the V’s want with us.
I don’t think we’re just food for them this time around.
With the Live Aboard program, we know see that the V’s like sticking a whole lot of needles in humans – sure that could be some kind of food thing or is it something else?
We just don’t know. And we also have yet to see a completely unskinned V either – in full Lizard get up.
Interesting episode though overall, though we have no idea why Anna didn’t put humans on the shuttle instead of the bones. After all, she has no regard for human life so why not put humans on the shuttle?
Doctor Who – Starship UK powered by the Beast Below May 3, 2010

Wow another fine outing for Matt Smith in the second episode of his young tenure as the new Doctor Who. (if you missed the episode it’s available on Amazon at: The Beast Below)
The basic premise of Starship UK is not totally unique, but being powered by the starwhale with the whole voting booth thing was kinda neat.
Even more interesting is how Amelia Pond was the only one that figured out that the Whale was just trying to save the children..while the Doctor was being a total jerk..nice.
The only mystery though is how did Elizabeth X know that that Doctor was coming? (and keep an eye out for him?) Or was she just looking to see if anyone at all was noticing the sheep had no vibrations?
Stargate Universe – Eli, Chole and Lt. Scott – Lost in Space?? May 2, 2010

Lost was another Stargate Universe Episode that defied expectations.
As opposed to SG-1 or Stargate Atlantis – Scott, Chole and Eli didn’t make it back to the gate in time – and they should have stayed with Greer.
Huh.
That was a shocker wasn’t it? So close and yet sooo very far.
The overlay of Greer’s issues with his Dad was a great foil to the background of the story – with one team searching for Destiny while Destiny searched for the team.
Somehow we don’t think that Eli will be lost forever – he’s too smart and will figure something out…won’t he?
After all Rush made his way back — and after barely an episode too.

Yeaah we’re a little late to this party. But we finally got around to watching the The Eleventh Hour
– the premiere of Matt Smith as Doctor Who.
What an amazing episode, what a fantastic Doctor Who!
Humor and strength with some amazing charisma, Matt Smith is astounding.
The segment where the anzati see all the Doctor’s incarnation in a bubble and then he tell them – I’m the Doctor, Now Run – WOW.
The new companion – with the whole little girl thing – another brilliant stroke. This is a companion that has loved the Doctor her whole life, this will be one fun ride and since we’re late, we’ve got a few episode now we can watch back-to-back to catch up.
If you haven’t seen the new Matt Smith Doctor Who – stop reading this and get it now!! (Amazon has it on demand : The Eleventh Hour)

She’s a double agent working for the CIA. Huzzah!
But how far will she go? Will she kill Mark Benford?
Even though we saw this coming, what an amazing twist. There is so many layers in this show it’s astounding it just gets better every week.

There wasn’t a V Super Soldier in the original show was there?
Holy crow but that’s one powerful warrior – no wonder the regular V’s just say that they are at peace!
Also really interesting to see how the soldier class could see heartbeats and sniff out their targets.
Doesn’t look like guns will take those lizards down either.

Human was yet another fine episode of Stargate Universe.
Yeaah a little slow with Rush’s dream — but we get some real insight into why that dude is soo messed up.
And how about the Daniel Jackson cameo? kind of wasted in this episode wasn’t it?
But you had to love the ’46’ number and Jackson remembering what all Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy fans know well – 42 – is the most important number in the universe!
Eli, Chole, Scott and Greer will be recovered — that we know – just going to be a question of when.
