Star Trek XI – NCC-1701 New Enterprise Pic May 8, 2008

Thanks to cineuruguay who commented about this new pic (click on the image to see full screen!!).
This sure look legit and expands on the early NCC-1701 pics that we saw with the first trailer.
The big differences over the classic NCC-1701 are the transparent top covering on the warp nascells as well as the oval covering at the front of the nascells (as opposed to the scoop type from the classic/movie version).
The back part of the main saucer section is also a little different with some kind of groove there for…what? Photon torpedos I guess?
Overall the ship looks a little ‘stubbier’ than the classic or even movie versions of NCC-1701..not sure why they would FRAK with the NCC-1701 that appeared in Star Trek 1-3 but hey…Abrams thinks he’s doing as a favor I guess by redoing the ship and re-writing the Star Trek canon.

But it seems like the ship in the trailer and this one bare striking similarities.
The biggest differences between this pic and the ship in the trailer is the registration style on the upper primary hull and the indentation that appears near the registration on the pic but not on the hsip in the trailer.
Since the ship probably ONLY exists in the CGI world, it would be very easy to make simple chnages to the ship…in an effort to keep people guessing.
But I think this pic is very detailed and show a resolution that most “fans” can’t achieve with their software.
I might be wrong…but I would be very surprised if the ship we see in the film is much different than this pic or others we have seen that are similar.
looks much better then the other ships. my main beef is with the reflective nacelles also in the other pictures the nacelles are to close (not the ballsy nacelles out look i always loved) the nacelles are the important part for me if they aren’t perfect i cant like the ship
