After all the excitement of the last two episode..this one was painfully sloooooooooooow.
There was only one redeeming aspect of this episode…that Ronon got to know Dr. Keller a whole lot better. Will their relationship progress? I think it will and it will make for some interesting episodes too.

In this months’ Vanity Fair – Indiana Jones is all the rage with some insider information on the new Indy which will be out on May 22.
The story is set in 1957, and this time Dr. Jones goes up against cold-blooded, Cold War Russkies—led by Cate Blanchett in dominatrix mode—instead of the Nazis he squashed like bugs in previous installments. Making a return alongside Ford is Karen Allen, as Marion Ravenwood, Indy’s pugnacious true love, last seen in the first film.
Beyond the Indy stuff Vanity Fair has an awesome interview with George Lucas – and the best bits are the Star Wars questions which are all online!
Here’s one small snippet:
How did you feel about the reception to Revenge of the Sith? And did you complete the story to your satisfaction?
I’m happy that the whole thing is finished, finally, so that was very satisfying, to have it complete and in one piece. It was a great sense of completion. I was happy with how it turned out—as well as I could have hoped. The reception is always lukewarm for those movies, so that’s not new.
Read the whole thing over at Vanity Fair.

You see a lot of funny stuff on the Colbert Report..one of the funniest things i’ve seen since he’s been back from the Strike break is an interview with the author of “Love and Sex with Robots”
The guy that wrote the books comes off as a little weird and Colbert nailed him asking him the question that i’m sure everyone wanted to know…..why write the book and is the author a major perv?
Apparently the author was awarded a PhD for his effort on this book too.
Check out the best bits below…
The First Real Star Trek XI Teaser Trailer January 18, 2008

Forget about paying down good money to see Cloverfield just to see the Star Trek XI trailer..multiple copies are now online (one linked below)..
Oh and no need for the early fan trailer anymore either (though i bet a few will be made based on the real thing).
The trailer – is all about construction and ends with the words UNDER CONSTRUCTION. The NCC 1701 Enterprise looks wicked and they’ve refreshed the Starfleet Logo itself too.
Anyways enough of me..here’s the trailer..

An early first look at the Star Trek XI Enterprise is out today over on the Moviephone site (linked through the pic above).
Looks like a typical NCC-1701 ..though if you look close the forward tips of the warp nascells look like big turbines..something like you’d see on an Airbus A340.
It also looks like there is alot of scaffolding so she’s clearly in space doc of some sort (Utopia Planetia maybe?)
The first ‘real’ look of course comes on Jan 18th in the preview trailer showing ahead of Cloverfield.
Battlestar Galactica : Caprica – Back on Track? January 17, 2008

We’ve been hearing about the Battlestar Galactica : Caprica prequel series for at least a year.
The general idea behind Caprica is that Caprica would take place more than half a century before the events that play out in Battlestar Galactica. The people of the Twelve Colonies are at peace and living in a society not unlike our own, but where high technology has changed the lives of virtually everyone for the better.
In the latest issue of TV Guide (the one with the Sarah Connor Chronicles cover) there is a news bit that would seem to indication that SciFi will now put Caprica into production.
The reason why now is simple. The script is already done – and with the strike SciFi is desperate for scripts so why not use something it already has but just hasn’t produced?
“I just got a call from NBC-Universal,” SciFi VP Mark Stern told TV Guide. “They want us to take another look at the project.”

Get on board
Step inside you’re going on a magic ride
Where Terminators will relentlessly hunt you down.
Yup..Terminator is going on tour with a green screen bus that lets us the fans jump into the scene to experience what it’s like to be chased by cold robotic killing machine from the post apocalyptic future.
The full tour schedule isn’t quite as comprehensive as we would like but hey..not too shabby either.

In the latest issue of Star Wars insider producer Rick McCallum has confirmed that Boba Fett is coming back.
That really shouldn’t be a surprise to followers of the expanded star wars universe.
Fett after all in the Star Wars books managed to escape from the belly of the Sarlacc on Tatooine and is a major character in the Star Wars Legacy of the Force series too.
I suspect that Fett will be one of Palpatine’s bounty hunters tracking Jedi…

Terminator : Sarah Connor Chronicles Pilot Part 2 – how long can this go on for? January 15, 2008

Alright after the euphoria of seeing a new Terminator the second part of the pilot was a bit of a let down.
Sure since the first Terminator we know that Terminators keep coming back, again and again and again.
In this series it looks like there will be multiple Terminators coming at the Connors. While that may make sense in a way..in others its annoying. The Terminator that was blasted in the Bank vault in 1999 should have been toast.
The missing dad syndrome for John is interesting and i’m sure that we’ll see plenty more of that in the future.
Again the fact that the Summer Glau Terminator takes orders from no one in the present is somewhat annoying.
But the fact that we’ve got freedom fighters from the future coming back in time too makes this even more complex.
Still, week after week, wave after wave of Terminator coming against the Connors – it’s going to be a really tough sell to keep this show fresh.

Yup. Wil Wheaton (yeah the little twerp who grew up on the Enterprise in Star Trek:TNG) is coming back to the Star Trek universe.
Wheaton has confirmed that he has shot a four minute segment where he is the Assistant Chief Engineer of the USS Titan. Apparently the 4 minute spot is just for the Star Trek Tour event but hey you never know.
Star Trek Titan started out as a masterful series – thought the last book was awful. Perhaps with Crusher on board as well as Riker and Troi – Titan will again be an interesting Star Trek spinoff.

Cool.
From the get go in this pilot, there is no mistaking that this is part of the original Terminator franchise (not the lame Terminator 3 stuff).
No Lena Headey is not Linda Hamilton…she’s different..a far more tortured Sarah Connor and one that is more teacher than mercenary. It is Linda Hamilton that next to the Schwartzenneger was one of the most memorable actors in the Terminator series..so Headey has some pretty big shoes to fill.
Summer Glau is awesome as everyone had expected… so far we know she’s ‘different’ but we don’t know why..i suspect we’ll find out the series goes on. She never answers John’s question about what her model is..so it’s a very curious thing as to who she is responsible to and who exactly sent her back in time to protect John.
The concept that Terminators from the future come back into the past to build parts for super weapons that the Connors get to use is a neat plot tool but thankfully they’ve kept with the original concept that you can’t travel through time without anything but your skin.
BUT and a very big but..i believe this to be the first time that there has been a FORWARD TIME TRAVEL in Terminator..so far everything has been backward.
Overall a great first part episode..nothing in it that didn’t make sense..very tight, well acted and scripted with the right amount of action.

Though i didn’t think the last episode was a ‘cliffhanger’, there were a few unknowns left..like what happened to the Wraith hive ships?
Well now we know. We also now know how the Wraith defeated the ancients ultimately which was shear force of numbers.
An entertaining and plot advancing story that was enjoyable end to end. And finally I think that Tayla will take a break too! And no doubt the Wraith ‘friend’ Ty will be back..though personally i’m curious whatever happened to Michael the Wraith? Maybe we’ll see a showdown between the two which really would be neat.

Usually at the end of the year you throw out an old calendar.
BUT..if you were the owner of a 2007 Star Trek Ships of the Line Calendar you probably shouldn’t. You see on both eBay and on Amazon a 2007 calendar (yes it is 2008 now) is going for…$$ .
On Amazon the calendars are going for…get this a minimum of $123.86.
Check it out here:

This is definitely a first.
Star Wars characters are only in Star Wars games – that’s just the way it is….NOT SO anymore.
Darth Vader and Yoda will be in SoulCalibur IV – yup that one..the really slick first person fighter. Apparently Vader will only be in the PS3 version while Yoda for Xbox 360 – somehow i suspect they’ll be a fancy cheat code that will bring both for both platforms though.
The only first person fighter that we’re ever of ever existing with Star Wars characters was the PS1’s Star Wars Masters of the Teras Kasi…this should be a whole lot better
Check out the trailer below…vader appears at the 1:00 min mark and he looks awesome.

Lots of activity lately in Battlestar Galactica promo land…one of the most interesting by far is one we just came across on Canada’s Space Network (sort of like SciFi only lamer usually).
They’ve got a SciFi media show call Hypaspace and they did a really great insider look at the upcoming Season 4 with some really solid cast interviews.
Katee Sackhoff declares that she’s not a cylon (though we all know she is) and apparently a whole lot of ppl die this season…

Wow what a great episode. The Wraith, the Atlanteans and Laren’s people all join up to destroy the Replicator homeworld.
Awesome action and really solid episode end to end.
It was a bit strange however for Earth to commit both of its starships – though i guess it makes sense given the stakes involved.
Laren is awesome and obviously we’ll see more of here. I’d suspect the good Col. Sheppard would like to see ALOT more of her…(was it just me or was he staring at her breasts most of the time?).
Great to see that Dr. Weir will return with her replicator fleet though..as it really would be a ‘shame’ to have the replicators totally gone…i mean who else can keep the Wraith as busy.
