Not far now…. Season 5 of Stargate Atlantis is now set to return to SciFi on July 11th. Early indications based on a number of reports is that we’ll be seeing alot of the Wraith this season.
We’ll also be seeing at least four episode with Dr. Carson Beckett , and we know that Col. Carter will be relinquishing command of Atlantis in favor of Wolesly (Robert Picardo) at some point.
And of course T’eyla (who was pregnant last season) now will have a baby that will get worked into the storyline too.

It looks like there could be as many as three new Terminator movies in the works — all focussed on humanity’s leader John Connor beating the machines led by SkyNet.
According to the BBC, Christian Bale (who has already signed up for Terminator 4: Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins) has actually signed up for three Terminator films.
So we’ll have a T4, T5 and T6.
Here’s our guess at a few titles for T5 and T6…
Terminator 5: SkyNet Strikes Back
Terminator 6: Revenge of the Humans

The song that Felix Gaeta sings after he loses his leg in the last episode of Battlestar Galactica 4×7 is one of the most stunning and haunting songs in modern scifi history.
Now the dude that wrote the sheet music and the lyrics for the song – Gaeta’s Lament – Bear McCreary has blogged extensively about the song, how he put it together and what it all means.
* Alone she sleeps in the shirt of man
* With my three wishes clutched in her hand
* The first that she be spared the pain
* That comes from a dark and laughing rain
When she finds love may it always stay true
* This I beg for the second wish I made too
* But wish no more
* My life you can take
* To have her please just one day wake

How do you begin to analyze an episode as deeply complex as this one?
So much going on on multiple sub-plot threads that this is one episode that no doubt needs to be see more than once…likely after the next one comes out so you can figure out where the pieces all fit in.
We know that Hera is the key but how she’ll be used is still unknown though at long last though we saw her in this episode (it’s been awhile).
Will the final five cylons allow themselves to be exposed by the boxed Deanna line?
Is the president a Cylon too?? Where are those visions coming from?
And what the frak will happen next?
No shortage of action/plot/drama with great pacing in this episode. I can hardly wait to see episode 8!

This Small Victories storyline is really quite entertaining.
In this issue we’ve got tonnes of action and we really don’t know yet how this will end up.
Deena Shan is a great heroine and I really hope she survives though that’s up in the air.
Will the Rebels make it back to save their friends? Of course they will, but someone won’t make it…
On an Imperial station, Luke and Leia do their best to distract their cruel captor from the rest of Rebels still loose in the facility. Unfortunately, Imperials have found Deena Shan, the Rebel team’s last hope for success. Deena is cornered into a decision of disastrous proportions for herself and everyone around her. By the time Ackbar deems a rescue mission worth the risk, there may be no one left to save.

Casting for the Battlestar Galactica prequel Caprica is picking up pace. This week we found out who will play Daniel Graystone – creator of the Cylon.
Remember Stoltz from Pulp Fiction?
Considering the new God storyline of the Cylon in BSG…I think that Stoltz/Graystone will have a pivotal role in the final season of BSG too.
Just like Data on Star Trek (and remember Ron Moore steals his best ideas from Trek) – I’d bet the Cylon were created in the image of their creator.

This is yet another solid issue..though most of this series our hero has been stuck in the sphere (maerlyn’s grapefruit) — which is also neat.
but there is no forward motion in the plot. The art is awesome and dark…but Roland and his ka-tet stay put as the bad guys (and wolves) advance.
I’m looking forward to the end of the sphere when the ka-tet finally make their way home.
This is certainly a
LONG ROAD HOME….

Finally it’s here!! The final book in the Star Wars Legacy of the Force series is out!
We’ve had some really healthy discussion about this for months on this site and there are heated opinions all around.
For now though I’m personally going to savor every page and take some time to read this final episode in this series.
For better or for worse Legacy of the Force has been a VERY eventful series, splitting the Galaxy, families and fans alike.

Roan Fel is Back!
And yes Legacy is still awesome.
Great to see Cade return to his bounty hunter friends — he is not a Jedi and he’s not a Sith. Cade Skywalker is the Han Solo of Skywalkers..he’s rough and he speaks Huttese.
Nice to see that Darth Talon isn’t dead yet either (she’s the hottest Sith ever) though that was just a one cell image with her in the bacta tank so it’ll take some time till we see her again.
Nice to see Roan Fel and his daughter — that’s a storyline that has been neglected for what…a year at this point?
So much going on in this series it’s hard to even begin to speculate what comes next but just seeing each of the pieces moving around is fun.
And last but not least, Jan Duursema the finest artist in the expanded Star Wars universe is back! hurray.

FINALLY! A decent episode.
The resolution aboard the Demetrius was an awesome full circle that worked really well and is what good storytelling is all about.
YES. The colonials now have a base star!
YES. Nana Visitor (Kira Narees from Star Trek) was a great cameo.
YES. This episode had both plot and drama with a proper pacing.
Will Kara Thrace lead the humans to doom? We’ll see. But once the 3’s (lucy lawless’s line) is unboxed will also finally connect the dots with the final five and things will get REALLY interesting.
Star Trek Excelsior : Forged in Fire (Review) May 10, 2008

Without a doubt Michael A. Martin and Andy Mangels are two of the finest Star Trek authors on Earth.
Forged in Fire is a well written book that starts in the future then jumps back to the past and ends back in the future. It’s a nice lifecycle that works.
The story of how Sulu gets command of the Excelsior is great. The story of the great Curzon Dax…aaaaaaaah it’s ok…but considering how much Jadzia Dax in DS9 played up Curzon I actually expected more of Curzon.
That said, this was a solid page turning epic ‘klingon-hunt’ that captured my imagination the whole time I was reading it. Not so much that there are any incredible plot twists persay, it’s just a solid pursuit kind of story with our ‘heros’ in pursuit of the albino Klingon.
The only problem I have with this book – is the ending…though it is ‘touching’…it’s not complete. For those that haven’t read it I don’t want to offer up a spoiler here. It’s tough to say the ending is disappointing since its such a solid book, but let’s just say the ending didn’t fullfill my own vicarious Klingon sense of honor.
But hey, let’s hope that these fine authors will continue the Excelsior series..and let’s hope that we’ll see more Curzon Dax stories too. It’s an interesting time in the Star Trek timeline and one that really has barely been explored in fiction.

Sure Wesley Crusher was a bit of a weenie on Star Trek TNG but Wil Wheaton is a cool geek.
He’s also very honest and he’s issued one of the most shocking critiscims of J.J Abrams and his reinvention of Star Trek with Star Trek XI. On his blog Wheaton wrote:
Speaking as a lifelong geek, my knee-jerk reaction when I hear someone talking about “reinventing” something like Trek is that it will be a tower of suck, built out of an endless supply of Jar-Jars and midichlorians.
.. not entirely sure how I feel about the “reinventing.” At least the people who totally fucked Star Trek up aren’t involved, but why does anyone need to “reinvent” Star Trek at all? There’s a good reason it managed to endure through four decades and several generations of Trekkies and casual viewers alike.
Read the full post yourself and let’s all get some money together and get Wil Wheaton to write/direct Star Trek XII : Captain Crusher’s Revenge!

Alright! This is starting to really make sense now.
The Muuir Talisman is a Sith artifact that controls the Rakghouls…
The talisman is the key that I bet will exist throughout the Star Wars timeline and the Sith are the lynchpin.
Neat.
Zayne Carrick is shown to be a real goofball in this issue which is also neat and something that I think we should see more of overall. More humor would be great too.
And the fact that Celeste is working for the Covenant…no surprise but great stuff too.
Vector started off a little slow and the last issue wasn’t great, but I see where it’s going now and I’m excited!

Thanks to cineuruguay who commented about this new pic (click on the image to see full screen!!).
This sure look legit and expands on the early NCC-1701 pics that we saw with the first trailer.
The big differences over the classic NCC-1701 are the transparent top covering on the warp nascells as well as the oval covering at the front of the nascells (as opposed to the scoop type from the classic/movie version).
The back part of the main saucer section is also a little different with some kind of groove there for…what? Photon torpedos I guess?
Overall the ship looks a little ‘stubbier’ than the classic or even movie versions of NCC-1701..not sure why they would FRAK with the NCC-1701 that appeared in Star Trek 1-3 but hey…Abrams thinks he’s doing as a favor I guess by redoing the ship and re-writing the Star Trek canon.

It doesn’t look like likely at this point that they’ll be any new Babylon 5 movies, but that’s to a WordPress blogger we can get a glimpse of stuff we’ve never seen before.
Darth Mojo has a few pics up on his blog of the original set design for B5…apparently he worked on the original set.

I was just at Star Trek The Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton last week. I go each and every time I’m in Las Vegas (about 4 times a year).
