Need some soya sauce for your Sushi – well then why not enlist the help of everyone’s favorite astromech droid R2-D2.
Perhaps the only thing funnier than actually having one of these little units..is the text on the Japanese web site that sells these little droids.
Ever dreamed to go space journy with your R2??
Unfortunately, such a dream can’t be true at the moment.
But now this tiny R2D2 can serve you Soy Sauce by your one-hand little move, leaning the R2 body a little to put appropriate Soy Sauce on Chinese or Japanese fried rice.
I don’t know, R2 D2 is handy and all but leaking fluid from a mechanical object isn’t exactly something that the health department is likely to approve.
Oh and hey these aren’t available on store shelves…if you want one you’ll have to check out the english language version of the Japanese vendor’s site…

Star Wars Death Star – Review November 23, 2007

Star Wars Death Star is one of the best Star Wars books ever written and was the most enjoyable Star Wars tale I’ve read in many years.
There are alot of books in the Expanded Star Wars Universe…for the most part you need to read a bunch of them to get into any one particular series. Death Star plugs into the Star Wars timeline right at the point of A New Hope..so the basic environment is well known.
Since 1977 the Death Star has been the most feared weapon in the Empire and its fate has also been known. But how was it constructed? Who was the man the pulled the trigger to destroy Alderaan? What about the people that were on the Death Star itself when in blew?
Just awesome…and though we know how it ends up..the way the authors weave the tale in with dialogue and plot from A New Hope itself is simply brilliant.
On a station the size of a small moon there are alot of people and they all have a story to tell…finally we get to hear/read those stories…and not just the machinations of Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin.
To say that this is a must read would be an understatement. This book should be REQUIRED reading for anyone that considers themselves to be a true Star Wars fan.

Available to order now through Play.com, this third-party accessory includes a power up / down that makes the blade glow.
.i would guess that it’ll work well with Star Wars Lego…but the real test will be The Force Unleashed that doesn’t show up until 2008.
The Wii-Saber isn’t available just yet…but you won’t have too wait too long. Play.com has availability set for November 30th.

No Star Wars Legacy of the Force Fury is not yet on the shelves (it’s not out officially until November 27th). Yes Random House has sent out review copies (we didn’t get one though we asked) and one of them has resulted in a full 38 chapter review full of all the spoilers you don’t want to read.
We’ll hold out till we have a bona fide copy…
BUT

A new story arc begins..and so far..so VERY VERY good.
After 21 issues and almost two year Zayne finally comes back to Taris which is now under the control of the Mandalorians…why it has taken this long..don’t know but it’s neat to see it now.
A nice balance of resistance fighters, Mandalorians and past intrigues in this issue that set the tone for this new arc.
Artwork in this issues is consistent – which is good – since past issues have been week in the art department.
If you’ve been avoiding KOTOR..this might be a great spot to jump in and ENJOY.

Star Wars Legacy #17 continues the string of unbroken AWESOME stories in this series.
Cade Skywalker now hooks up with the Sith – literally and figuratively. I never thought of the Sith as sexual creatures but there it is…certainly a first in Star Wars comics as far as I know.
The T’willek’s lekku (those long things coming from their heads) being used as a tool for seduction is also something i’ve never ‘seen’ in a comic book. Has Cade actually turned to the Dark side? well….sure there is darkness in him..but somehow I think that the battle between light and dark is one that Cade will face his entire life (as did Quinlan Vos whom Cade’s exploits mimic in alot of ways).
The depth, complexity and richness of this series continues to grow and like most other fans..i can’t wait to get my hands on the next issue!

We’ve been playing the new Star Wars Lego the Complete Saga for the Nintendo Wii for the last three days….
YES it’s the first Star Wars game available on the Wii.
YES it is the best version EVER of Star Wars lego – as it has EVERYTHING in it and lots of little extra cut scenes too.
NO it doesn’t make proper use of the Wiimote or Nunchuck. You can use the WiiMote to slash but it’s not consistent or fluid – it’s much easier and better for gameplay just to press the B button.
It won’t be until Star Wars the Force Unleashed comes out that we’ll finally see what the Wii was made for.

The Eighth book in this awesome series – Star Wars Legacy of the Force : Revelation is set for a Feb 26, 2008 release.
Unfortunately it’s written by Karen Travis, the author that wrote the worst book in the series Sacrifice and killed Mara Jade Skywalker.
Who is on the cover? Looks like Jacen.
What’s the Revelation? That the Sith suck?? that He killed Mara?? we’ll find out…

Star Wars Legacy of the Force is the final book in the series – and LucasFilm has now confirmed that Jacen’s sister Jaina will be on the cover.
As of the date of this posting – no image cover for the book was publicly avaiable.
Invincible is set for a May 13, 2008 release in hardcover and is being penned by the best krifing author of the series Troy Denning.
Does Jaina on the cover mean that she’ll destroy Jacen?
Does it mean that she too will turn to the Sith?
I think so…I expect Jaina to marry Fel – from whose offspring Roan Fel will emerge. Roan Fel though not officially Sith – is kinda/sorta there with his whole ‘i’m the Emperor’ deal.

I remember well reading Allan Dean Foster’s Splinter of the Mind’s Eye when i was (much) younger. It was THE FIRST Star Wars expanded universe book and as such hold a very special place in the Star Wars pantheon.
I had never seen the Splinter of the Mind’s Eye comic though..so when Dark Horse included it as part of the 30th Anniversary Hardcover set…i grabbed it.
The art is pretty solid – the story not quite as rich as the Allan Dean Foster novel – but then again it’s not too shabby either. It’s always tough to see Luke and Leia in comic form since we always visualize the actors that played them.
That said this is a fine collection and another must have for all Star Wars fans and it will hold a treasured place on my book shelf.

WOW.
I’ve totally enjoyed the Star Wars 30th Anniversary hardcover set to date..but Light and Dark may well be the best of the bunch.
First off this book is very difficult to find…my local retailer never even got a shipment..i tracked it down at Midtown Comics in NYC after some difficulty…but nothing like the difficulty Quinlan Vos has to deal with.
Man is he one awesome Jedi – double agent for the republic and the confederacy page turning excitement with Jedi hunter Aurra Sing..this is one big book jam packed with cover to cover non-stop pure Star Wars excitement.
Original Darth Vader Actor Hasn’t Spoken To Lucas Since 1983 November 4, 2007

Talk about bearing a grudge. In a recent interview David Prowse the ORIGINAL Darth Vader actor revealed that due to a dispute he had with George Lucas nearly 25 years ago he hasn’t spoke with Lucas since 1983.
Lucas seems like a nice enough dude to me – so what did Prowse do to be totally ignored by Lucas for over two decades?
In a nutshell he betrayed George Lucas’s trust…or did he???
I always wondered why we never EVER see David Prowse unmasked in Star Wars…
In the interview Prowse details what actually happened:
So, I get a phone call from a reporter saying ‘I’d like to do an article all about you and your weightlifting’. He turned up at my gymnasium that evening and halfway through he says, ‘you know you’re being killed off in this movie, don’t you? And another guy’s playing the dying Darth Vader?’ I said ‘they wouldn’t do that – they wouldn’t go and unmask somebody else after I’ve played the part for six years’. He asked if I had a call sheet, and he looked at it and it said: ‘Dave Prowse, Darth Vader, Studio 1’, and underneath it ‘Sebastian Shaw, Anakin Skywalker, Studio 10’. He finished the interview abruptly as soon as he’d told me all this and the next day The Daily Mail had the headline: ‘Darth Vader to be killed off in the next movie, in an exclusive interview with Dave Prowse’. And that ruined my association with Star Wars. I was ostracized while on the movie, the producer and director wouldn’t work with me and Lucas wouldn’t speak to me.
Sounds like a real Sith plot to me.
Read the full interview on the Void.

Order 66 is a cornerstone even in the Star Wars universe..and this issue revisits that order from yet another angle.
We see old friend Quinlan Vos in the beginning which really got my hopes up that he’d be back (he’s not it’s just a small cameo) but Jedi Master K’Kruhk is the main jedi here.
No surprise as we know he survives in a later era but it’s great to see/read his escape from Palpatine’s tyranny. Seeing as this series has been so dark so far…i’m not sure i really want to know how badly things will go for KKrunk and what kind of terrible ordeal he will endure.

Alright we’ve got the Mandies, Republic and dueling Jedi factions all in one room and issue where they’ve been since last issue.
Problem is the art in this book is so RIDICULOUSLY DREADFUL that Zane Carrick doesn’t look like he should and is drawn in yet another different way in this issue.
There is nothing else to say about this issue – if you can’t have a consistency or a style for the main character in a series – it’s just sad and makes the rest of this otherwise excellent issue a wasted effort.

For years, I’ve struggled to collect a complete set of the early stories of the Jedi – I’ve got Golden Age of the Sith, Fall of the Sith, Freedon Naad Uprising…but was still missing issues in between.
Now Dark Horse has made it easy and put it all together in one massive ominbus – i just got it and it’s AWESOME.
There has never been such a compilation that captures all of the early Jedi Tales – now we’ve got it – and it’s a must have addition to any collector’s collection – and/or a great complete starter for someone that wants to jump into Star Wars comics feet first.
Five thousand years before Luke Skywalker’s successful assault on the Death Star, the Sith Lord Marka Ragnos ruled the galaxy. That is, until his death ignited a battle for ascension that would spell the end for his empire–and nearly the entire galaxy! It would be another thousand years before two young Jedi novices Ulic Qel-Droma and Nomi Sunrider would rise for the cause of justice, first in the case of a Jedi-killing Hutt, and then against a dark Jedi spirit threatening to engulf an entire planet!
