Battlestar Galactica Finale – What The Frak Was That? Starbuck an angel? Let’s fly all our ships into the sun? March 21, 2009

After all the excitement – 6 years of TV dating back to the original mini-series in 2003. This is how it ends.
Starbuck isn’t a Cylon – she’s an ‘angel’? what was her ship that came back then?
The first hour of this show Season 4 Episode 20 Daybreak (Daybreak, Part 3) was great – the assault on the Cylon colony – centurions fighting centurions classic and new…guns blazing in all out slaughter.
The deal with Cavel – also brilliant..as was Tyrol going nuts when he realized who killed Calli that was all neat up until they jumped away.
Then the show went right to hell.
Lets fly all our ships into the sun because technology is bad?? WHAT THE FRAK IS THAT.
(yes it was cool to hear the classic Battlestar Galactica theme though as the ships sailed into the sun though).
The visions of Caprica and Baltar were just angels too? I’m not sure about that.
The whole idea that the Galactica’s crew then goes on 150,000 years later to help seed humanity on Earth — that was kinda neat and it was neat to see Ron Moore at the newsstand in New York City.
This is it? Really?
So yes there were some redeeming moments to this series finale for sure. Yes it did try and tie up as many loose ends as possible. But it was in our view still somewhat disappointing.
Battlestar Galactica in this new creation has always tried to take a high moral ground and be about more than just science fiction. But to say that technology is the root of evil is just wrong. For the colonists to give up their ships and technology entirely makes no sense. For Starbuck to just be an ‘angel’ makes no sense.
Of all the great BattleStar Galactica episodes – and there have been some 80 hours of it at this point – this is not Galactica’s finest hour. Not by a long shot.
It’s a mediocre and unsatisfying end to a magnificent series.
We will miss you Galactica and we will remember the good times, the great times, the fantastic characters and scenarios and we will be grateful. It will be hard for anyone to ever replace you.
SO SAY WE ALL.

So Agent Ballard’s neighbor is a doll too????
Who isn’t a doll?
Gotta love the control phrase too: There are Three Flowers in a vase.
We kinda/sort guessed she could have been a doll but still a surprise in the end and well played.
The whole thing with the abuse of Sierra was also disturbing…but perhaps most intriguing was the larger dollhouse conspiracy
There are 20 dollhouses? and who leaked the news to Echo to tell Agent Ballard? Was it the the head of the Los Angeles DollHouse? Or was it Topher’s assistant?
The TV documentary angle on the Dollhouse was also a realy interesting dramatic lure – this is one well craft show isn’t it?

Daybreak, Part 1 – what we are calling Season 5 Episode 9 (SciFi calls is Season 4 Episode 19) The second last episode ever of Battlestar Galactica was all about setup for the final and ultimate showdown.
Instead of Galactica going out with a whimper she will go out with a bang.
Instead of limping away to try and find a hiding spot for humanity.. Galactica will make one last attack against the Cylons.
It is as it should be.
The show will end will on big final battle to end all battles between the Cylons and the Humans and Galactica will go out in a blaze of glory with her guns firing into the Cylon beast.
Just awesome.
Not so sure about all the Caprica flashbacks in this episode – neat to see that Caprica 6 cared about Gaius’s dad..the other stuff…not so sure.
The red line across the dead was a brilliant dramatic angle for sure too.
And when did Tyrol end in lock-up? sure he belonged there but…
Hard to believe that after all these years we’re almost at the end – even harder to believe that the end WASN’T Earth but is something else…likely the death of the Battlestar Galactica itself and everyone on it.

Soo apparently the Doll’s do remember stuff! Why else would Victor get an erection whenever he sees Sierra?
Also how else would Echo have the residual to remember things too.
And what’s the deal with Mellie? Is she Agent Ballard’s stalker or is she somehow related to Echo too?
LOTS OF QUESTIONS which is a good thing. This latest episode with Branch Davidian types was pretty cool and once again proves that Dollhouse has legs. This is is show that (unless Fox screws it up) should last awhile.

LIFE ON MARS: 1.14 “Coffee, Tea, or Annie” was a another great episode…why did the Stew look like annie?
Was it part of project Aries?
And how did she end up on the cover of the magazine?
We still have no idea how sam got stuck in the past but with 4 episode left until the show is cancelled hopefully we find out soon.

The original Knight Rider with the ‘Hoff’ was a decent 80’s show.
The remake in 2008 sucked! Everyone knew it sucked from the day the pilot aired.
Now the show has been cancelled the March 4th episode it’s last one. I don’t know how any network in their right minds could have funded the show as long as this..it never should have left the pilot stage.
The plots were weak, the characters flat and two dimensional, there was no drama, KITT was lame — but the Mustang itself was kinda cool…would’ve been better if they could have had an 83 Trans Am though.
Star Wars Live Action TV show starts casting March 10, 2009

We knew ‘the Maker’ George Lucas had two TV projects in mind after Episode III – one a new animated show — CHECK
the other a live action TV series.
MTV is now reporting that Lucas has begun casting the new show!! woohoo!
According to Lucas, the show will focus on minor characters from the saga and be set in the time period between “Revenge of the Sith” (Episode III) and the original “Star Wars” (Episode IV). The action will follow the Rebel Alliance as it slowly gains strength against the Empire. There will be Stormtroopers, but no Jedi or Darth Vader will appear on screen.
This is the period covered in Books and comic books as the Rebellion. It’s an awesome time period and one that has so much richness in it that can be explored.
Think about it the entire Galaxy has lost its freedom. The Jedi are dead. What’s a regular person to do? Go become a moisture farmer on Tatooine?

Though we’re not fans of Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles – we are HUGE fans of Summer Glau. She’s the reason why we bother SCC at all and is its most interesting character.
Summer was one of our favorite shows last night – The Big Bang Theory –
She was on the train that the guys were taking and they each tried to work up the courage to talk to her. Koothrappali drank then talked with her..Leonard didn’t quite make it .. and Wolowitz got his phone smashed by the Terminator.
A little lame…but still great fun. I’m surpised Sheldon didn’t go and talk with her…or maybe have Penny talk to her on the phone…but hey as cameo’s go it was ok.

After some 80 episodes of Battlestar Galactica we
‘ve come to a conclusion –
EVERYONE IS A FRAKKING CYLON.
The first three seasons we spent trying to find you who the cylons were…
We thought we had them all until Season 4 rolled around and we found about the final five.
Then we find all the final five but we still have other – cylons don’t we?
Starbuck for one right?
Then is Season 4 episode 18 Islanded in a Stream of Stars Roslyn has the dream with Hera in it again ..
Is President Roslyn a Cylon too then?
Going even deeper, Baltar calling out Starbuck as an ‘angel’ ..maybe Baltar is right?! Maybe all the colonies were in fact cylons and all can be resurrected somehow.
Maybe there is another planet that they’ll find at the end of the series in which all those that we thought were lost will be found again.

Isn’t the captain (in this case the admiral) supposed to go down with the ship?
What we’re calling Battlestar Galactica Season 5 episode 8 (SciFi calls this Season 4 episode 18 Islanded in a Stream of Stars
.. ) was another setup episode …we see the secret base colony that the Cylons have.
We still don’t know what Kara ‘Starbuck’ Thrace is, but now we know for sure that the ship on Earth with her dogtags was her – so somehow she was resurrected – with a resurrected ship too.
What about the dreams that Roslyn, Athena and Starbuck are all having and how are they linked? Is Roslyn some kind of Cylon hybrid just like Starbuck too?
With only a few episodes left until the final episode the building up is just amazing…

That was interesting wasn’t it? What happens when an agent gets wiped remotely…
And the wiping was done by Alpha! That was neat.
Now what’s going on with Agent Ballard and Victor …I don’t know. It jsut doesn’t make sense to us.
We know Victor is a Doll – and he’s trying to get Agent Ballard out of the picture…but what was he doing this episode? it’s was just dumb.

“Your father was Captain of a Starship for 12 minutes. I dare you to do better.”
Captain Pike to James T. Kirk.
The first few trailers for the new Star Trek movie had us wondering if this new Star Trek movie would be a total disaster.
Apparently J J Abrams listened and the latest trailer is seamless stitched together in a way that should excite all Star Trek fans.
We know that this isn’t classic Trek – and the new trailer doesn’t pretend to be either. This is something new and it’s something AWESOME.

No new hints on how Sam will get home in this episode – but a solid show nonetheless.
This is a great 70’s cop show – even without the time travel part.
I wouldn’t have guess it was the Prof’s husband initially but the way the show was constructed was brilliant.
Too bad the show ends in April…

Awesome art again from Omar Francia. The AT-AT swimmer? come on that was kriffing incredible.
The plot as always was solid – here we are finishing this little story arc that began in issue 32.
Just when we think the Imperial Knight will go home to his emperor..he turns a bit to stay and defend the mon cal! what a great angle and a solid knight to boot.
More importantly we finally get the continuity link we’ve been waiting for the past three years for Roan Fel.
The first Emperor was Jagged Fel – yup i’d assume that’s the same Jagged Fel that was hooking up with Jania Solo. So Roan Fel is likely a Solo grandson!!!
How’s that for a twist!!

OOH No!! ABC in their infinite wisdom has decided to cancel Life on Mars. Episode 17 which will air in April will be the last.
Guess that means we’re going to find out What is Project Aries sooner rather than later.
Life on Mars has been a great cop show from the first episode — the time travel aspect has added a dimension that has made this show incredibly entertaining and keeps us guessing week after week.
The acting in this show is superb. The characters are brilliant.
It is a shame that ABC is not extending this series, then again Sam does have to get back at some point doesn’t he?
“We felt it was the right thing to do for the producers and the fans and creatively,” said Steve McPherson, ABC Entertainment group president, to Television Week.

We’ve been saying here on ShowMeSciFi.com since January of 2007 that Starbuck is a Cylon. After watching episode 17 of Season 4 Someone to Watch Over Me ..we’re now as confident as ever that we were right!!
Starbuck’s Dad the piano player – was Daniel the Cylon. has to be..we know Daniel was more artistic and we know that his line got boxed which is why he never came back.
We learned about Daniel in episode 15 (called No Exit). This is what we here at ShowMeSciFi.com predicted last year – the FINAL FINAL Cylon is Daniel Graystone set to played by actor Eric Stolz in the upcoming Caprica prequel.
It all adds up now doesn’t it?
Hera isn’t the only half-breed. Kara is the same.
How Kara will lead humanity to their doom? Guess that was Earth…

Battlestar Galactica Season 5 episode 7 (SciFi calls this season 4 episode 17 Someone to Watch Over Me
We thought Sharon Valeri – BOOMER – was actually good! that she had turned a new leaf..
even at the end of her life when she got shot by cali – it was just that there was one thing that she had no control over – so she shot Adama –
No such luck. Boomer is a baby stealing Bitch.
And poor Cheif Tyrol he has to go through the grief again and this time he helped her..and now Galactica is toast the ship will not hold together.
Will he tell Adama what happened? We think so – he’s an honest cylon but who else can keep Galactica together?
Ohh and Starbuck!! Her Dad was a Cylon then right? How else could that song trigger such a result?
Kara Thrace IS a Cylon – Human half breed she’s gotta be. Daniel the missing number 7 cylon has to be her father.

Wow! Third episode of Dollhouse Stage Fright was fantastic! A few really great twists for sure..
A big twist – the biggest in our view – was the fact that the Russian Mobster pursued by Agent Ballard – Victor Lubov – is actually a Doll from Dollhouse!!
We did not see that coming! So is Dollhouse trying to eliminate Ballard? Or is something else going on?
And what’s up with Echo and Sierra nodding to each other at the end? Does that mean that they know each other? That they remember and their aren’t totally erased after the mission?
(if you missed the episode Amazon has it too at Stage Fright
)

Another great episode…we still don’t know how or why Sam is stuck in 1973 but he is affecting the future…isn’t he?
Amazing how he caught this guy tonight – and great that Annie keeps being such a critical part of Sam’s plans.
This isn’t Quantum Leap where Sam has to set things right in the past in order to go to the next ‘leap’ is it?
