We’re still about four months away from the theatrical debut of Star Wars Clone Wars on August 15th, but Lucas is already pumping the hype.

At 7:58 on Thursday May 7, a special 2 minute Clone Wars trailer will simultaneously be aired on :Cartoon Network, TNT, TBS, CNN, and Boomerang .

“By combining the power of the Turner Networks and the power of the Force, we’re able to create a fantastic event for Star Wars fans of all ages,” said Howard Roffman, vice president of Lucasfilm Ltd in a statement. “We’re incredibly proud of The Clone Wars, and eager to be able to showcase it for the first time in such an exciting way.”

That was such a great show — Deal or No Deal Star Wars Edition was the most awesome game show ever broadcast on network television.

They really did that show right. Vader as the banker was awesome (it sounded like the guy who does Chad Vader). The Tie Fighter sound effect for taking numbers off the board, the Leia slave girls (not too mention Carrie Fischer herself), Chewie, R2..

AWESOME.

I would buy that show on DVD (but it’s not available)…so here’s a YouTube set of compilation so you too can relieve the best game show ever. Pray that YouTube doesn’t alter the deal further….

Awesome show this past Friday night on GameTrailer TV on Spike. They showed a whole lot of new footage from the game…

But perhaps most importantly they showed the first time ever…two guys playing head to head in death match mode on the Wii.

No there is no Wifi ..option (yet) but it it does look sharp. This will be the first head to head star wars deathmatch kind of game since Star Wars Master of the Teras Kasi for PS1.

Check out the footage in the vid below (the really wicked stuff starts at the 3 minute mark)

Lando Calrissian isn’t the only one that can make a deal with the Empire.

In this special “Star Wars” edition of Deal or No Deal set to air on April 28th the Banker will be replaced by Darth Vader!

Oh and instead of models…one contestant get Stormtroopers while apparently the other contestant the ultimate adolescent male fantasy for SciFi — a stage full of Leia’s dressed like Leia in Jabba palace!

Greedo is no doubt the most famous Rodian in the Galaxy (and likely the only Rodian that many know).

His appearance in Episode IV, was brief but memorable.

And of course with all of Lucas’ revisions, the question of who shot first is always there.

Soo we here at ShowMeSciFi.com decided to focus on Greedo for our Star Wars/Atom Films Fan Movie Challenge entry.

Called : Greedo’s Guide to Bounty Hunting – It’s a neat mashup (we think) that we hope you like. Please do click on the link and go check it out on StarWars.com (and give it 5 stars!!)

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic #26 Vector Part 2 March 31, 2008

We’ve been excited about Vector since it was first announced.

Unfortunately there is very little to be excited about in Vector Part 2.

The art in this book is the worst yet in Knights of the Old Republic with a very cartoon’ish look that just doesn’t work (it might work for Tag and Bink but not KOTOR).

Sure we understand that there needs to be setup issues for plot, but this is a little ridiculous. Is Vector just about some time plague with the Rakghoul?

And sure the Mandies are cool and all, but where are the Sith?

We really hope that the action, plot and art pick up in this series. A massive crossover like Vector is a great thing for the Star Wars Universe — but when it is so poorly executed it is a pointless exercise in futility.

Star Wars Legacy Miniatures – They don’t look right March 26, 2008

When we first saw the ads in Dark Horse’s Star Wars Legacy for the new miniature figures…we were krifing stoked.

Then we went over to the vendors site to actually see what the figures look like…

ummm.. i dunno about you but that doesn’t look like Cade Skywalker. Since when does Cade have straight hair?

The Delilah Blue figure is even worse.

It (cause i refuse to call this trash a woman) looks like some kind of weird tranny..

I don’t know who approved this trash..but I really hope Lucas Licensing (and Dark Horse) put a stop to this travesty.

George Lucas : There is no Star Wars Beyond Episode IV (Return of the Jedi) March 25, 2008

The expanded Star Wars universe – all the great stuff in Star Wars Legacy of the Force books and the Star Wars Legacy series….ISN’T Star Wars to George Lucas.

In an interview over on StarWars.com Lucas admits that for him it ends with Episode IV (Return of the Jedi)

Do you think you’d have other people continue the Star Wars saga past Episode VI or turn some of the other material into films?

But there’s no story past Episode VI, there’s just no story. It’s a certain story about Anakin Skywalker and once Anakin Skywalker dies, that’s kind of the end of the story. There is no story about Luke Skywalker, I mean apart from the books. But there’s three worlds: There’s my world that I made up, there’s the licensing world that’s the books, the comics, all that kind of stuff, the games, which is their world, and then there’s the fans’ world, which is also very rich in imagination, but they don’t always mesh. All I’m in charge of is my world. I can’t be in charge of those other people’s world, because I can’t keep up with it.

Star Wars Legacy of the Force Revelation (REVIEW) March 16, 2008

After 3 weeks of some really great reading..we’re ready to finally offer a full review of Star Wars Legacy of the Force Revelation (which officially came out on Feb 26, 2008).

No this is not the best book in the series – BUT yes it is an AWESOME book and one that at points is an intensely riveting page turning adventure.

Revelation follows follows Fury, Sacrifice, Exile, Betrayal , Bloodlines and Tempest.

The axis on which this whole book sits is the Battle of Fondor and what a battle!

Since the first book of this series – Legacy of the Force has been all about Civil War. What do we call it now – double civil war? The GA now has two factions, then there is still the Confederacy and somewhere inbetween is the Imperial Remnant.

Did i shed a tear for Admiral Palleon? You bet I did.

But amongst all that chaos that is the middle to the end of this book the number one question in my mind was – Where was the Confederacy in all this? Why didn’t Bothawui or Correlia show up?

Also what’s up with Tahiri? Suddenly she’s now a Sith apprentice – yet we never really any discourse from her/Caedus on her becoming Sith?

Jaina’s training with the Mandalorians is awesome stuff and clearly Karen Traviss is cut out for writing about the Mando’ade – it’s what she exels at.

The fact that OH FINALLY Ben/Luke et al accept the fact the Caedus killed Mara was far too drawn out and lame but hey..Fondor makes up for it (A BIT).

Overall we give this 3.5 out of 5 stars.

We have to wait until May 13th for the last book in this series – Invincible – where the only question is — Will Jaina Kill Jacen/Caedus??

After 6 plus issues of nothing by Cade Skywalker it’s great to see ‘the other side’ (or at least of them) in the massive universe that is Star Wars Legacy.

The Galactic Alliance (GA) or rather what’s left of it is still on the run … remember this isn’t just about Sith and Jedi

It’s not even about GA vs Empire..its wider…remember that we’ve got GA, Roan Fel’s Empire and then the Sith Empire ..and then the Jedi in between in various sections.

I don’t think i’ve ever seen the docking ring above the Mon Calamari homeworld which was awesome to see and the plot (as always) was fantastic.

Of course the Sith would want to finish off the GA, and what better way than a trap!

Star Wars Legacy of the Force : Invincible – Will Jaina Kill Jacen? February 2, 2008

invincible.jpgWe’ve known since at least November that Jaina would be on the cover of the final book of the Legacy of the Force series.

Now the first images of the actual book cover are available and it looks to us that she’s going to have a showdown with her brother Jacen – Darth Caedus.

That is a confrontation that is – Inevitable – maybe that should’ve been the name of the book. Then again maybe Invincible refers to Jacen/Caedus….

Invincible’s release date is set for May 13, 2008. Amazon is already taking pre-orders on this the final installment of the Legacy of the Force – it’s a hardcover so it’s more dough than the paperbacks. Amazon currently has a neat offer though, they’re starting at 34% off list price and if you pre-order now they’ll give you an extra 5% discount. Sure beat paying full price the day it comes out..but i wonder if they’ll actually ship it to arrive on May 13th..

Ahsoka Tano – Anakin Gets a Padawan in new Star Wars Clone wars series January 30, 2008

In a major new canon development in the Star Wars Universe – Lucas is giving Anakin Skywalker a Padawan of his own.

Her name is Ahsoka Tano.

First of all I think it’s great that Anakin gets a Padawan. It’s something that has been missing from the young Darth Vader’s story for the last 30 years.

While it will be interesting to see the interaction of Tano and Skywalker in the new Clone Wars series.

What will also be interesting to see is how Lucas expands the character in other timelines…for example: Is she killed by Vader or Clone Troopers in the Jedi Purge?

No question that Star Wars : The Force Unleashed could be the most awesome Star Wars game of all time.

No question that the Wii is an awesome platform.

Put the two together and what will get?

Lucas Arts recently did a media event and the specifics of how the Wii will control the Force were among the items discussed.

The Wiimote and Nunchuk act as the left and right hands for controlling force and lightsaber actions.

There are five lightsaber movements with the remote: right to left, left to right, downswing, uppercut and stab.
All of the force powers (with the exception of throwing the lightsaber) are controlled with nunchuk movements – the force push, for example, is triggered by thrusting it forward – while holding buttons switches to lightning and grab attacks.

CVG has perhaps the best roundup if you’re looking for more..

vector1.pngStar Wars Vector – the comic book event of the year is coming next week from Dark Horse.

All Dark Horse Star Wars titles will be pulled in stretching a massive 4,000 year scope.

There has been massive speculation about how it all ties together with few details shared thus far.

vector2.pngBut in a set of preview panes that Dark Horse has made available for the first issue of Vector (appearing in Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic #25)

It clearly looks like they’re going to draw the connection very early on .

Hard to say quite what the issue is but until i see otherwise i think it’s a massive Sith…not the Dark Jedi Sith..the ancient Sith..plot spanning the generations.

Then again with Vader apparently fighting alongside Luke and Cade Skywalker as well as Zayne Carrick maybe the Sith aren’t the prob…. we’ll find out soooon!

In this months’ Vanity Fair – Indiana Jones is all the rage with some insider information on the new Indy which will be out on May 22.

The story is set in 1957, and this time Dr. Jones goes up against cold-blooded, Cold War Russkies—led by Cate Blanchett in dominatrix mode—instead of the Nazis he squashed like bugs in previous installments. Making a return alongside Ford is Karen Allen, as Marion Ravenwood, Indy’s pugnacious true love, last seen in the first film.

Beyond the Indy stuff Vanity Fair has an awesome interview with George Lucas – and the best bits are the Star Wars questions which are all online!

Here’s one small snippet:

How did you feel about the reception to Revenge of the Sith? And did you complete the story to your satisfaction?
I’m happy that the whole thing is finished, finally, so that was very satisfying, to have it complete and in one piece. It was a great sense of completion. I was happy with how it turned out—as well as I could have hoped. The reception is always lukewarm for those movies, so that’s not new.

Read the whole thing over at Vanity Fair.

Boba Fett to be in New Live Action Star Wars series January 15, 2008

In the latest issue of Star Wars insider producer Rick McCallum has confirmed that Boba Fett is coming back.

That really shouldn’t be a surprise to followers of the expanded star wars universe.

Fett after all in the Star Wars books managed to escape from the belly of the Sarlacc on Tatooine and is a major character in the Star Wars Legacy of the Force series too.

I suspect that Fett will be one of Palpatine’s bounty hunters tracking Jedi…

Interested in SciFi?

Do you have ‘skills’?

Well you might be in luck. Lucasfilm is hiring!

You wouldn’t expect a typical want ad from Lucasfilm and that’s not what they have. Instead they’ve got this neat little short with Chewbaka in it.

Check it out and good luck with your job applications!

Oh..and if you didn’t catch it in the vid their main recruiting address is:
