Ok we thought the first book in this series – Plagues of Night – was a little slow. This book is wall to wall, cover to cover excitement making this an awesome read.
DS9 as we know it is no more.
WOW.
The head of the Tal Shi’ar imprisoned and the Alpha Quadrant cutoff from the Gamma.
WOW.
The pure size of the plot shifts that happen in this book are massive and a delight to this Star Trek fan. No shortage of action or drama in this brilliantly crafted and written book – Highly recommended (but read Plagues of Night first!)

This books was difficult to read – well at least the first two thirds of it.
Then the action kicked in.
If you can get through the ridiculously long and overdone setup in this book you’re in for a real treat.
The big finale that this book leads to reshapes the Star Trek canon as we know it. It is a must read for all Star Trek fans that are following this continuing saga…word of warning though…this book won’t make any sense unless you’ve read the Destiny series or the previous 4 Typhon Pact books.

We used to love Chad Vader.
The first season was pure awesome – as our Fav Sith’s (brother?) made his way through life as the night shift manager at Empire Food Market.
second season was also fun.
third season mostly sucked – and that was almost two years ago. since then – no chad vader.
Guess What? Chad is coming back. After a two year hiatus Blame Society Films is bringing him back starting on June 12th for a five episode run. We couldn’t be more excited.
And just for old times sake – here’s a link from our fav Chad Vader episode – Episode 6 from all the way back in 2007.

After that first issue we *almost* thought that Boba rly did get toasted.
He is after a clone, and hey lots of his brothers are around.
Now in this issue we get the real story – what happened and how his nice Mando’a helmet had a blaster bolt through it.
No surprise that Boba is going to use his half-brother to help him out, but what was a great surprise was seeing Sintas Vel.
that’s right – Sintas Vel, the woman that Boba Fett (in the books) has a child with. We can’t recall seeing sintas so beautifully drawn – errr painted as she has been in this issue.
Now the real hunt is one as we’ll find out how Boba can track down his own killers. No we don’t really care why they wanted to kill Boba, he is after all a bounty hunter so no doubt he has a lot of marks on his head.
The relationship between Boba and Connor Freeman (his half-brother) is interesting though. As it should be right? That’s what — Blood Ties – is all about.

We all know that Star Wars is huge – but did you know that Star Wars has generated at least $33 Billion in revenues over the last 35 years?!
Yeah we were a little shocked too.
Facebook is a $100 Billion IPO and Star Wars isn’t as big? that’s nuts. No wonder Facebook is tanking

Dark Horse Star Wars overload this week and we couldn’t be more excited
Leading the hit parade this week is STAR WARS BLOOD TIES BOBA FETT IS DEAD #1 (OF 4). YEEAAAh illustrated or should we say PAINTED by Chris Scalf.
This isn’t your regular comic book art – this is
ART.
While a new Blood Ties begins – Crimson Empire III ends with issue # 6 of 6 out this week. It has been a good ride but it’s time for Kir to go now.
STAR WARS CRIMSON EMPIRE III EMPIRE LOST #6 (OF 6)
OOOH but wait Dark Horse has one more awesome ending for us this week with Star Wars: Dark Times-Out of the Wilderness #5 – illustrated by the one and only Douglas Wheatley. Dark Times is an awesome series that has been plagued by publishing delays since the beginning – let’s hope that this final issue is everything we’ve been waiting for!

Zayne Carrick is the hero that we kinda/sorta love to hate.
After all he has no blood lust, he just wants to live his life, he’s not interested in being the hero.
Yet in this issue when force the Mandos to return to the planet from which the Republic drafted him, he helps them take control of a station — in an effort to save lives.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawww.
Then he comes back to help save his Republic friends.
Nice.
But no, we still see no signs of his girlfriend, but for the first time in this series we do see his old ‘boss’ Gryph.
Good fun.

We had some doubts about this series when it first started, but Dark Horse and the GREAT John Ostrander have proven us wrong.
From first page to last, this issue gripped us with action that we couldn’t put down. Jahan Cross beds his enemies sister, then she gets toasted not by her brother as we expect, instead the brother is killed by the robotkilling father.
Nice twist.
Now how are they going to get off the iron eclipse?
Sure Han and Chewie will just swoop in …..
Or will they?
In any event, the addition of Jahan Cross to the Star Wars canon is a great one, he’s a character that we want to see a whole lot more of from Dark Horse in the months and years to come.
Star Wars Fate of the Jedi Apocalypse : THE WORST STAR WARS BOOK EVER WRITTEN?! April 7, 2012

Fate of the Jedi started out as decent story….the introduction of Vestara Kai and the Lost Tribe of the Sith to the Star Wars cannon are both worthy additions.
That said, this last book was such a total piece of sh*t it makes us sick.
How this book ever got through editorial oversight is beyond us. This book could have been 200 pages shorter and it would have been much better, delivering the key plot points. As it was, this was easily the most painful Star Wars book we’ve read in years. Long, slow drawn out action. Sure action is great to have, this whole book is action and most of it makes no sense at all.
Were this not the last book in a series we’ve read from the beginning, there is no way we would have read this to the end, it’s that bad.
At the beginning of this series Luke leaves Coruscant, then he comes back. Then the Jedi leave, then they come back, Then they all leave again. And in between Abeloth is destroyed and Jaina get married to Fel. And oh yeah Vestara — is she good or evil? who knows…the author of this book totally buthered her character so much so that we just don’t care.
Yes we love Star Wars books, and yes we’ll still buy the next series that comes out — even though at this point it’s clear that the publisher is just abusing readers.

Not that any of us really need more proof – but SYFY Channel has no interest in scifi.
SyFy has just CANCELLED the Battlestar Galactica Blood & Chrome show – before it even aired.
They’re keeping the pilot as a standalone, but no show.
that’s right! the Frakkers have FRAKED us BSG fans yet again.
This show was the only good thing coming to SyFy that we were excited about and they killed it.
FRAK YOU SYFY.

Forget about Jedi – the new Star Wars Dawn of the Jedi Series is about the JE’DAII.
These JE’DAII are the predecessors of the Jedi we all know…they’re also a bunch of wimps that have been sequestered in black hole surrounded planet Tython to protect them.
Yeaah we’re talking about the new Dark Horse comic book here – it’s an amazing concept, but unlike Legacy which from the first page was PURE AWESOME. This title might take a bit more time till it grows on us.
What Dark Horse is doing here is giving us the ultimate prequel – but it’s a bit too far fetched in some respects..so far.
Anyways – we do find out what JE’DAII (or later Jedi) means it’s a Dai Bendu terms meaning : Mystic Center
These early jedi were all about finding balance between the light and the darkness. Though at this early stage the darkness are not the Sith.
The evil forces are led by Force Hounds like Xesh – that’s the dude on the cover of issue #1. He’s working for the Rakatan and their empire.
Apparently and this shocked us.. the Rakatan are the dudes that turn Tatooine from a lush paradise into a dessert too..

This series is also really picking up nicely…though this particular issue was all about one thing..
JAHAN CROSS ON THE RUN.
Nothing more really, the agent of the empire is running from the corporate sector police (into Han Solo’s smuggling containers too!) but no new major revelations about the plot.
Still, an entertaining run..but the real plot is hopefully coming in the next issue as we finally see what this conspiracy is all about. Issues like these make us wonder if we should just wait for the trade..cause then we don’t have to wait a month to see what happens next…
EA Bioware Finally fixes the Most Annoying bug in Star Wars the Old Republic #SWTOR February 7, 2012

We’ve been playing Star Wars The Old Republic, night and day since the game launch six weeks ago. Over that time EA/BIOWARE have issued more fixes than we can count, but never one for the most annoying bug ever.
that changed today.
The patch list states:
The message “There are no missions defined for the Crew Skill: [Crew Skill Name]” is no longer erroneously displayed.
We wondered for weeks what we were doing wrong, some ppl said it was a bug, others said it was something else, while the morons at Bioware were just clueless as they laugh at us gamers that pay them money for a buggy game. Anyways that flaw is fixed, plenty more though still in the game – we’ve got a post and a video coming soon to highlight the worst ones.

Wow. Just wow. This is the week that we SciFi – or more specifically – Star Wars comic book fans have been waiting for ..ever since Dark Horse ended Legacy.
John Ostrander and Jan Duursema are back – the best writer/artist duo in Star Wars history are BACK!!
This all about the beginning of the Jedi – on a planet called Typhon – which actually plays a really prominent role in the Star Wars The Old Republic MMORG. All Jedi characters start on Typhon for their training.
Dawn of the Jedi #0 is out which isn’t technically a story as much as it is a reference guide to help us all understand that awesomeness that is to come.

No we weren’t big fans of the first issue of this series…but it turns out we’ve been proven wrong.
Issue #2 is awesome.
Jahan Cross is a real character and this title has a real plot. We can hardly remember the last time there was as much intrigue in ANY Star Wars title as this one. Yeaah he really is the James Bond of Star Wars..he lands the lady (then is framed for her death) while still getting the step daughter to help him out. Twist after twist.
It’s still not entirely clear to us how this will end up (which is a good thing, easy predictable plots are boring). We don’t know how Jahan will get out of this or what the Iron Eclipse really is all about (yet).
While we weren’t too excited with the first issue, man are we glad we stuck around for the second, this book is a keeper and another winner from John Ostrander (no it’s still not as AWESOME as Legacy but hey it’s still a great read).

KOTOR is BAck! thank you Dark Horse for bringing back this great era.
Zayne Carrick is back and he’s still kinda sorta on the run, but this time not from his own destiny…he’s trying to run from his duty to the Republic…what is strange though is that it’s not clear what happened between Knight of the Old Republic #50 and this issue..it’s just a whole blank era…i thought he connected with that former slave captain girl and was still working with the crooks…the missing years or gap isn’t a good thing and really doesnt make this feel like a continuation of the first series.
Sure it’s ZAYNE CARRICK but the character doesn’t feel like it should.
That said – he’s in Revan’s Army fighting Mandalorians. how cool is that? We barely saw Revan in the first KOTOR (and hey we haven’t seen him here yet either), but still. Even with the time gap, this is fine era, and this first issue is loaded with action. We’re looking forward to the next issue!

Monty Python – or at least 4 of its critical cast members are having a reunion of sorts.
Terry Gilliam, John Cleese, Michael Palin and Eric Idle are all lending their voice talents to a new scifi comedy called Absolutely Anything (kinda sounds like a Douglas Adams name for a book doesn’t it?)
Terry Jones – another familiar Monty Python member – is directing the flick.
“It’s not a Monty Python picture, but it certainly has that sensibility,” Jones told Variety.

Star Wars The Old Republic has been out for a month now and the fine folks at Bioware are REALLY scared that they are going to lose tens of thousand of players. The one month mark is when players need to decide to continue to subscribe or not and it’s a critical make or break point for this game.
So what is Bioware doing? They’ve got a new flashpoint – which by the way is unplayable – and they’re promising changes to the game.
For one, we will FINALLY get the ability to resize and move menus around easily. SRSLY? That’s not a feature that’s a bug that should not have made it this long.
As well, they’re promising Guild Banks – again, that should have been there day one.
So what is there to look forward too?
NOT MUCH.
That said there is so many classes and missions in the game to begin with..and i doubt that anyone has been able to hit level 50 for all classes yet….
