FOX killed Firefly 7 years ago…but it’s now coming back..to cable .. in reruns.
Starting in March Firefly will be on the Science Channel – and will have some new content with Science Channel ppl explaining the science behind the show.
More interesting is the fact that Nathan Fillion – Capt Mal himself is still interested in Firefly and would return to do the show if he could.
“If I got $300 million from the California Lottery, the first thing I would do is buy the rights to Firefly, make it on my own, and distribute it on the Internet,” Fillion said in an interview.

That’s her (left), Adrianne Palicki the new Wonder Woman set of the upcoming reboot by NBC.
Apparently she’s best known for her role in Friday Night LIghts (no not a show we’ve ever seen). She was also in Aquaman — a very short lived (ie. only pilot that was on CW).
Will she live up to Linda Carter’s awesomeness?
Unlikely.
NBC doesn’t know how to reboot sh*t. They killed the Bionic Woman with boring plots and they’ll do the same with Wonder Woman.
If you want Wonder Woman – just buy the series – the original –Wonder Woman: The Complete Collection
In case you’ve never seen Adrianne Palicki in superhero action…here’s here (brief) appearance in Aquaman.

Erika Evans new leader of the combined Fifth Column.
Lisa meets Diana
And action, drama and bullets all over the place.
No we still haven’t seen the Lizards as being totally exposed for the vermin that they are — but that’s coming soon.

wow.
And even btr..she actually loves Peter too…
messy stuff.
now we def’n prefer the alternate Earth to regular Earth…though the replacement for Broyles is a bit….weak isn’t he?
Star Wars Legacy War #2 Is Cade Skywalker’s Mom Toast? February 11, 2011

It’s hard to believe that over the course of 51 issues (50 regular series and 1 of War) that Cade Skywalker had NEVER
NEVER
Met Admiral Gar Stazi before. That’s shocking.
But it’s great that they finally have – and oh yeah Darth Krayt should be shaking in his big Sith boots.
Cade is Sith Killing Machine and he’s unstoppable now.
But his mom is stoppable – Is She Dead now? Somehow we don’t think so and it’s now likely that she’ll move full time to helping her son the Galactic Alliance and Roan Fel…
Speaking of Roan Fel – aside from running away from Sith — what’s up with him? He’s the weak link of the bunch. Not the ultra-dude that Cade is, not the General like Gar Stazi and not the maniac that Krayt is now becomming either.
All in all, this issue continues to remind us why Star Wars Legacy is the best comic book title ever produced by Dark Horse.

Yes we’re Dark Horse Fans.
NO WE DIDN’T like Darth Vader and the Lost Command #1.
The artwork is inconsistent with very different renditions of Vader throughout, same goes for the troopers. This isn’t the type of art that we’re used to seeing from Dark Horse – we’re used to seeing much better.
The overall story is kinda weak too.
But there is a at least one great set of panels – when we see Vader out of his full gear/helmet going through his regular maintenance – that’s cool.
Not enough for use to recommend this issue , but hey we’re Star Wars fans here, we buy ALL Dark Horse Star Wars stuff. We just think they can do MUCH better.

A solid episode…but the pacing of this show is all wrong isn’t it?
Erica Evans is clearly toast….but at this stage shouldn’t we already have an all-out Visitor Earth war?
And who is the other option instead of Tyler?
next week’s episode already look awesome, Diana will meet her grandaughter and Ryan will be skinned by Eli Cohen.
oh and Erica evans will be kidnapped.
nice.

Smallville is coming to an end on May 13, 2011 at 8 pm.
That’ll be it, no more and finally…finally…
THE BLUR WILL BECOME SUPERMAN.
We’ve waited 10 yrs for this and I think we’ve waited long enough.
“Paying homage to 10 seasons is no small task, and wrapping up each character and story arc has been extremely important to everyone involved in the show,” said executive producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders in a statement. “We’re excited to be able to make the final moments of SMALLVILLE a television event, as the character we’ve grown up with makes his legendary transformation.”

The mindreader episode was kinda cool…that cortezapham stuff can do amazing things…
also kinda weird that ‘Sam’ wrote all the copies of the First People …who is that guy anyways?
But the dominant theme…again is Peter, FauxLivia and Olivia.
No sh*t that the still has feelings for Olivia…as the mind-reader told Olivia.

Star Trek Typhon Pact Rough Beasts of Empire by David R. George III – is a decent book, though not quite as engaging as Typhon Pact: Seize the Fire (which we recently reviewed).
This book is about two things, Ben Sisko and Romulus, with a side of Tzenkethi for good measure.
The Sisko part bothered us — ALOT. This book portrayed the Emissary as a man that was able to walk out on his family. No it didn’t make sense to us either, though the author tried (unsuccessfully) to convince us otherwise.
In general the characterization and writing about Sisko was just wrong and out of character.
In contrast, the plotting with developments in the Romulan Star and Imperial State is brilliant. The tense drama was astounding and we really didn’t quite know how it would end. The manipulation of the Tzenkethi to create a new Praetor was really slick.
The overall broader tactical and strategic nature of the Typhon Pact after this is really quite different isn’t it? We’ve got a united Romulus under a non-militant Praetor and we’ve got Sela (remember her?) as the head of the T’al Sheare -neat.
A decent read and one that really extends the Typhon Pact storyline, we can hardly wait until we read the next book in this (so far) really great series.

yes tyler is too…that’s one messed up family.
eli cohen — ok neat super israeli mossad killing machine dude.
but once again, THE TOTAL FRAKKING NONSENSE about the human soul, WTF is that all about?
the whole Vatican thing was a bit dumb, but it was neat to see the priest call Diana – his Queen. Too bad she had to eat him.
What was the deal with his Ring? Is it a datachip of some kind? we’ll see but it clearly had something of great value in it.

Did the weapon really – ‘weaponize’ HIM? Not really clear why he decided to go after the shapeshifters on his own without telling anyone.
Strange thing is that Peter is going bad, just as Olivia is starting to warm up to him – even after FauxLivia.
Ah well – another fine show..with more questions than answers at the end.

A little later than usual — we finally got our Star Trek: Ships of the Line: 2011 Wall Calendar. The pic above is for January.
We had never before seen the Enterprise XCV – the first Enterprise — not not NX-01..but a Vulcan inspired starship. There is a really awesome middle section panorama in the calendar as well which explains why the XCV failed…in the same middle section there is some awesome pics of the NX-01 retrofit, which makes it look a whole lot more like the NCC-1701.
The brilliant artist/renderer behind the XCV is Mark Rademaker and he explains in this blog post how he built this ship that none of us never knew — or saw before now.

That’s right – Stan Lee is likely not happy either.
Johnny Storm – aka The Human Torch dies in Fantastic Four #587.
Now considering that Fantastic Four has been coasting along for years – who buys that stuff now??? – this is like the spark that could reignite some interest in Stan Lee’s first family of Marvel.
Even more shocking is that the Fantastic Four is ending – as a comic book – after 41 years with issue #587
There are some people that think that the Fantastic Four should have ended in 1971 when Jack Kirby left (we’re among them) – but this series is the cornerstone of Marvel to see it go is…sad in a way…but it’s also long overdue.

That’s right, the President’s State of the Unit has done what the Fifth Column (so far) hasn’t been able to do.
That’s right – Obama beat the V’s – or at least kept them off the air – for one night.
Next episode is set for Feb and it’s titled ‘Unholy Alliance’
After the radical faction of the Fifth Column murders three Peace Ambassadors, Erica goes on a mission to hunt down their leader, Eli Cohn.
Unfortunately the frakking nuggets at ABC don’t know anything about sharing their content with bloggers ..so all we’ve got to share as a promo is some grainy YouTube footage…but hey despite ABC’s incompetence – we’re still fans!! (of V)
Star Wars Fate of the Jedi – Vortex – review: Awesome. This book is the best in the series yet. January 23, 2011

Vortex (Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi, Book 6) is one of the best Star Wars books ever written…sure it’s the middle of a series, but the twists and turns in this book put it head and shoulders above the rest.
We’ve been tracking, reading and reviewing the Fate of the Jedi series since 2008, when Lucasfilm first announced the series. The first Fate of the Jedi book: Outcast – was ok, but not great. Book two – Omen – was awesome. Book 3 – Abyss – was weak. Book 4 – Backlash also weak.
Now book 5 – Allies – the book immediately preceding this one was interesting, but unsatisfying.
In contrast to those first five books, we have nothing but praise for Vortex. The writing is amazing and kept us turning page after page. The courtroom stuff with Tahiri which has been dragging on, was exceptional this time around.
the battle inside the Jedi Temple and the demise of Kenth Hamner …WOW…we didn’t see that one coming.
Luke battling Abeloth and the Sith Again? ok..we saw that coming but still cool.
Vestara killing Lord Tallon? no we didn’t see that.
But the best part is the fact that this book stuck to the tried and true Star Wars formula. We had multiple sub-plots that all come together in a big set of concurrent event. Hamner and the Jedi with the launch of the StealthX’s, the return of the Horn’s, Errant Venture’s attack on the Coruscant mirrors and Luke battling it out for his life.
WOW.
Author Troy Denning, knows what Star Wars fan want and he has delivered in spades with Conviction.
