Was it part of project Aries?

And how did she end up on the cover of the magazine?

We still have no idea how sam got stuck in the past but with 4 episode left until the show is cancelled hopefully we find out soon.

pitchblackWe loved Pitch Black. Chronicles of Riddick…um not so much but still entertaining. Now Vin Diesel has told a pub that he’s working on a new Riddick movie!!!

Maybe we’re too tight-lipped about the next Chronicles of Riddick film, and I think circa the release of [Dark Athena] that’s probably when you’ll start hearing more about the next Riddick film. It is underway, and I almost think it’s a coincidence that we haven’t heard anything, that there hasn’t been a lot of public stuff on the Riddick movie….

I think we were so adamant about knocking this game out of the park that we’ve been doing a lot of late hours—the overtime’s on the game at the moment while [Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick screenwriter] David Twohy is finishing up the next script.

Riddick is a great anti-hero and the universe in which he operates is so rich and waiting for more coolness. If you haven’t seen the flicks Amazon has a nifty three pack including the animated Dark Fury: Riddick Trilogy (Pitch Black/ The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury/ The Chronicles of Riddick)

Knight Rider Cancelled. Is anyone Surprised March 10, 2009

The original Knight Rider with the ‘Hoff’ was a decent 80’s show.

The remake in 2008 sucked! Everyone knew it sucked from the day the pilot aired.

Now the show has been cancelled the March 4th episode it’s last one. I don’t know how any network in their right minds could have funded the show as long as this..it never should have left the pilot stage.

The plots were weak, the characters flat and two dimensional, there was no drama, KITT was lame — but the Mustang itself was kinda cool…would’ve been better if they could have had an 83 Trans Am though.

We knew ‘the Maker’ George Lucas had two TV projects in mind after Episode III – one a new animated show — CHECK

the other a live action TV series.

MTV is now reporting that Lucas has begun casting the new show!! woohoo!

According to Lucas, the show will focus on minor characters from the saga and be set in the time period between “Revenge of the Sith” (Episode III) and the original “Star Wars” (Episode IV). The action will follow the Rebel Alliance as it slowly gains strength against the Empire. There will be Stormtroopers, but no Jedi or Darth Vader will appear on screen.

This is the period covered in Books and comic books as the Rebellion. It’s an awesome time period and one that has so much richness in it that can be explored.

Think about it the entire Galaxy has lost its freedom. The Jedi are dead. What’s a regular person to do? Go become a moisture farmer on Tatooine?

Though we’re not fans of Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles – we are HUGE fans of Summer Glau. She’s the reason why we bother SCC at all and is its most interesting character.

Summer was one of our favorite shows last night – The Big Bang Theory –

She was on the train that the guys were taking and they each tried to work up the courage to talk to her. Koothrappali drank then talked with her..Leonard didn’t quite make it .. and Wolowitz got his phone smashed by the Terminator.

A little lame…but still great fun. I’m surpised Sheldon didn’t go and talk with her…or maybe have Penny talk to her on the phone…but hey as cameo’s go it was ok.

Battlestar Galactica EVERYONE is a Cylon March 8, 2009

After some 80 episodes of Battlestar Galactica websg‘ve come to a conclusion –

EVERYONE IS A FRAKKING CYLON.

The first three seasons we spent trying to find you who the cylons were…

We thought we had them all until Season 4 rolled around and we found about the final five.

Then we find all the final five but we still have other – cylons don’t we?

Starbuck for one right?

Then is Season 4 episode 18 Islanded in a Stream of Stars Roslyn has the dream with Hera in it again ..

Is President Roslyn a Cylon too then?

Going even deeper, Baltar calling out Starbuck as an ‘angel’ ..maybe Baltar is right?! Maybe all the colonies were in fact cylons and all can be resurrected somehow.

Maybe there is another planet that they’ll find at the end of the series in which all those that we thought were lost will be found again.

Isn’t the captain (in this case the admiral) supposed to go down with the ship?

What we’re calling Battlestar Galactica Season 5 episode 8 (SciFi calls this Season 4 episode 18 Islanded in a Stream of Stars
.. ) was another setup episode …we see the secret base colony that the Cylons have.

We still don’t know what Kara ‘Starbuck’ Thrace is, but now we know for sure that the ship on Earth with her dogtags was her – so somehow she was resurrected – with a resurrected ship too.

What about the dreams that Roslyn, Athena and Starbuck are all having and how are they linked? Is Roslyn some kind of Cylon hybrid just like Starbuck too?

With only a few episodes left until the final episode the building up is just amazing…

Riley was a cool chik and it was dumb for her to be killed.

Just goes to show how idiotic the producers of this show are.

Would have been neat to see that Riley John Connor thing play out a little more but naaah the producers of this shoddy program want to make ultra sure that the program SUCKS.

It was neat to see Cameron fix her arm though – reminiscent of Arnie fixing his arm in the first Terminator.

That was interesting wasn’t it? What happens when an agent gets wiped remotely…

And the wiping was done by Alpha! That was neat.

Now what’s going on with Agent Ballard and Victor …I don’t know. It jsut doesn’t make sense to us.

We know Victor is a Doll – and he’s trying to get Agent Ballard out of the picture…but what was he doing this episode? it’s was just dumb.

“Your father was Captain of a Starship for 12 minutes. I dare you to do better.”

Captain Pike to James T. Kirk.

The first few trailers for the new Star Trek movie had us wondering if this new Star Trek movie would be a total disaster.

Apparently J J Abrams listened and the latest trailer is seamless stitched together in a way that should excite all Star Trek fans.

We know that this isn’t classic Trek – and the new trailer doesn’t pretend to be either. This is something new and it’s something AWESOME.

No new hints on how Sam will get home in this episode – but a solid show nonetheless.

This is a great 70’s cop show – even without the time travel part.

I wouldn’t have guess it was the Prof’s husband initially but the way the show was constructed was brilliant.

Too bad the show ends in April…

Awesome art again from Omar Francia. The AT-AT swimmer? come on that was kriffing incredible.

The plot as always was solid – here we are finishing this little story arc that began in issue 32.

Just when we think the Imperial Knight will go home to his emperor..he turns a bit to stay and defend the mon cal! what a great angle and a solid knight to boot.

More importantly we finally get the continuity link we’ve been waiting for the past three years for Roan Fel.
The first Emperor was Jagged Fel – yup i’d assume that’s the same Jagged Fel that was hooking up with Jania Solo. So Roan Fel is likely a Solo grandson!!!

How’s that for a twist!!

What a magnificently awesome issue!!! The first three were great but this one just adds a new layer…

Evil Worf has Deanna as his mistress who is in fact a spy for the rebellion – then she gets kills by Worf…wow

Sulu dies taking out Worf..then Picard takes command of Excelsior …what drama!!!

IF ANY STAR TREK MOVIE WAS AS GOOD AS THIS COMIC BOOK SERIES…we’d have best SciFi movie ever…instead of the garbage Star Trek that J J Abrams is about to pollute us with…

The final issue of Stephen King Dark Tower Treachery – #6 was easily the best issue of the series. Sure issue 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 all had their moments but nothing like the end of this issue.

This issue in one masterful stroke brings together the three key threads of this whole series:

Aileen

Roland’s Mom

and Merlyn’s Grapefruit.

There is no crimson king and the ‘Good Man’ Farson doesn’t swoop in. But there is a finality to this issue as Roland forgets the face of his mother as he fires his gun into her chest.

All in all though..this series was enjoyable – though at $4 an issue a bit too expensive for us given the current economy…though the next episode in this saga is a one-shot issue..

ABC Cancels Life on Mars !!! March 2, 2009

OOH No!! ABC in their infinite wisdom has decided to cancel Life on Mars. Episode 17 which will air in April will be the last.

Guess that means we’re going to find out What is Project Aries sooner rather than later.

Life on Mars has been a great cop show from the first episode — the time travel aspect has added a dimension that has made this show incredibly entertaining and keeps us guessing week after week.

The acting in this show is superb. The characters are brilliant.

It is a shame that ABC is not extending this series, then again Sam does have to get back at some point doesn’t he?

“We felt it was the right thing to do for the producers and the fans and creatively,” said Steve McPherson, ABC Entertainment group president, to Television Week.

This is John Connor. If you’re listening to this you are the resistance.

This trailer offers a whole lot more insight into the movie than we’ve seen yet ..with a decent soundtrack from Nine Inch Nails to Boot.

Markus is a ‘friend’? Kinda like Arnie in T2? I dunno we’ll see..But this trailer sure looks hot. Then again the first trailer was pretty slick too…

Star Wars: Coruscant Nights III Patterns of Force REVIEW Where’s the Zeltron? March 2, 2009

patternsoftheforceStar Wars Coruscant Nights III Patterns of the Force is a book that we were really looking forward too. We really enjoyed the first book in this series – Jedi Twilight and the second book – Street of Shadows – was solid too.

Patterns of the Force is the weak link in the triology and the worst book of the three. Were it not for the fact that we had already invested our time (and money) into this series, we likely would have given up on this book halfway through.

The sentence, paragraph and scene contruction were painful. Most of the plot was weak and pointless and most of the characters were cardboard cutouts.

What happened to the brilliant prose/plot/characters of the first two books?

WHO THE FRAK ARE THE INQUISITORS??! That all of sudden they should appear in the final book makes no sense at all and shows how poorly this series was constructed.

We knew that there had to be a final showdown with Jax and Darth Vader we didn’t know how he would get there…

[spoiler alert stop reading here if you don’t want to know..]

So how does Jax meetup with Vader? He calls him!

HA!

The slow pace and lack of much action in this book really made this painful until the final 4 chapters.

The fact that Dejah Duare the Zeltron betrayed Jax because Jax wouldn’t FRAK HER was kinda neat and something we didn’t see coming. The fact that she then went to embrace Vader (and died) however makes no sense at all.

The fact that Vader did not kill Jax was also disappointing. Jax should have been cut down – yet he wasn’t. So now the publishers can just stretch out the Jax character and use him again…

Oh and I-Five is not only sentient but he has a Force auro too…go figure.

Sure we like Jax he’s cool…but he was overmatched in that room and it would have been a fitting end for him to meet his fate at the end of Vader’s crimson lightsaber.

So in the final analysis Coruscant Nights started off really well with excellent promise – the final book was disappointing – but hey we were ultimately entertained.

I suppose that even though we suffered through the first 20 chapters the final payoff makes it worthwhile.
