Alessandra Torresani wants to be Wonder Woman?

RLY?

Maybe…the former Zoe Greystone of Caprica fame recently updated her Twitter pic to the one left.

We like Torresani – but let’s face it Caprica sucked – her character was interesting but poorly written.

Maybe we’ll get lucky and this wonder woman wannabe will get  a role in Blood and Chrome –

Another fun episode…but doesn’t Clark know not to leave Lois by the side of the road?

WTF dude?

And what was the deal with the Children of the Corn anyways…did the blue kryptonite give them strength? And how did it give Clark back his power when he was buried in it?

Oh and congrats to Clark on getting Lois-Lucky.

the pep talk on the world needing a hero was kinda neat too.

One of the new clips that Disney showed us last night at Tron Night was one where Quorra meets Sam and gets him off the grid.

What’s interesting is that this is a non-lightcycle vehicle and that they can actually go off the grid…and oh yeah they’re headed to see Sam’s dad..

Tron Night Review – 20 mins of footage a mix of plot and action. Welcome to the grid program – End of line. October 28, 2010

We just got back from the local Tron Night event – we were the first ones at the theater …when the lights finally went out the theater was only half full.

The first scene we saw was Sam Flynn in his garage home with the same clip that is in the film’s trailer (‘i got a page from the arcade”)

the second scene was Sam going to the arcade – with some great 80’s tunes blaring the background…made us think though…if the phone had been disconnected for 20 yrs, how come the power wasn’t cut off?

the third scene we saw was sam getting picked up on the grid -with another program going AWOL and jumping…the grid looks awesome the 3D was slick.

the fourth scene was Sam getting ‘suited up’ the chicks have some kind of laser cutting fingers…neat.

the fifth scene gave us sam and the return of Tron Deadly Disks — MAN WAS THIS AWESOME..slick and fast paced..

then we had an ok scene with the light racers as Sam is rushed off the grid to find his dad. Meeting up with his dad was another scene, a bit mellow and lame, but hey part of the plot.

finally we got what looked like the tron music video montage…

Overall some new footage we’ve never seen anywhere else, some awesome 3D visuals and fantastic deadly disk action.

The schwag was a little basic, we got a poster – nice but that was it.

Take off to the Great White North for some beauty SciFi eh?

A new scifi mag titled AE (I think they should have just called it Take Off Eh?) is set to debut this month.

The catch with this pub is that it’s not just being published in Canada – for now – it’s also only taking submissions from Canadians too.

If the website image (above) is any indication, we might be in for some post-apocalyptic CN Tower home to zombie action while Canadian girls drive around on Ski-doos.

A webisode based series can make the jump to TV. Just ask the producers of the steampunk phenomenon Riese.

SyFy will begin airing Riese:Kingdom Falling on October 26th

““We saw Riese and thought they had done just an amazing job, and then we were able to give them some resources and bring Amanda on board to really help them take the series to the next level,” Craig Engler, Senior Vice President/General Manager, Syfy Digital said in a statement. ” I think new and existing fans will love the relaunch of the series on Syfy.com and enjoy all the new additions.”

Eleysia is a dying kingdom where resources are dwindling and compassion is fading. Distrust and anxiety have clouded people’s minds, causing a regression into primitive ways of thinking. People have grown restless, almost feral. Rituals and mythology have resurged, and the darker side of mankind has begun to reveal itself.

Riese (Christine Chatelain), a wanderer, travels across the decaying lands of Eleysia with her wolf, Fenrir. Marked as a heretic by religious group The Sect and the new Empress, Amara, Riese must evade their assassins and discover their true intentions for Eleysia.

Riese is the Crown Princess of Eleysia, forced to flee into the wilds after her family was slaughtered. She will soon serve as a catalyst for a disparate group of supposed heretics, the Resistance, launching them into civil war.

Stargate Universe S2E02 – Aftermath – The Mercy Kill October 8, 2010

Aftermath
HURRAY Rush finally unlocked the code to the Destiny’s control room….but are those visions he sees or is Destiny actually trying to speak to him?

We think it’s a bit of both.

All issues about the ability of the ship to fall out of warp aside, what about the food replicator type capabilities of the ship? Shouldn’t he have been focusing on fixing that too?

By far the most disturbing part of the show was the mercy kill – yes it was understandable, but no that’s not what we want to see. It could have just been  a cutaway shot of some kind we didn’t actually have to see the suffocation, that was unnecessarily graphic.

So what is the other ship? clearly another ancient ship, but what is its purpose?

So Walter is now the richest man in the U.S?

Nice.

That’s a neat twist that has lots of dramatic potential.

The olivia from the other side is also really interesting –yeah she’s an evil beeatch, but she’s still cool isn’t she?

And why was the components of the mega weapon on the wrong side? And why is Peter the key to making it work?

Smallville’s Season 10 means its time for us to watch 9 years worth of episodes September 20, 2010

OK, we’ll admit it. We have not seen every episode of all 9 seasons (to date) of Smallville..

But that’s now going to change. You see, the final season – season 10 – of Smallville starts this week, and though we haven’t followed this show from the beginning (usually due to the WB/CW’s weird programming time), we’re now fully hooked.

The teaser trailer for Season 10 – reminded us of how much we’ve missed so, in honor of the final season, we’re going to get all nine seasons and watch ’em all (on rain days, late nights, weekends..). Getting all nine seasons is no small task or expense — though Amazon has some decent pricing that we might be taking advantage of, if we can’t get this cheaper at our local Blockbuster.

Yup Scott ‘Captain Archer’ Bakula is Chuck’s dad and Linda ‘Sarah Connor’ Hamilton is Chuck’s mom.

What’s Next? Schwartzenegger is Chuck’s uncle?

All kidding aside, Hamilton is an awesome actress and to see her return to TV is great. She makes her first appearance in the Season 4 premiere tonight of Chuck and we expect that she’ll be a major character the whole season — if not longer.

Star Wars The Old Republic Threat of Peace comic isn’t as Epic as the video game trailer September 7, 2010

Like everyone else, we’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Star Wars The Old Republic MMO game this year (we hope!).

So we’re gobbling up every little tidbit we can, including the Dark Horse comic book series.

The first story arc of the Old Republic comic, a three issue set titled, “Threat of Peace” has now wrapped up — and we’re not too impressed.

The basic storyline is solid, a Sith/Jedi truce and the various factions, both Sith and Jedi that want to see the truce ended before it really begins.

The problem is that the story as told in this comic is very disjointed and is extremely difficult to follow. Don’t bother trying to read individual issues of this series, they simply don’t make sense. As a complete story arc – that’s a bit better as the single cell (or page) context makes more sense across three issues.

Long story short is that the Jedi themselves were trying to undercut the Sith/Jedi treaty. That part of the story was kiinda cool, but the delivery overall is weak.

The art is also relatively weak in this series and isn’t at the same level that we’re used to from Dark Horse. Perhaps we just have unrealistic expectation for this series, since the LucasArts/BioWare trailers for The Old Republic have been so awesome so far.

We’re off to outer space.
We’re leaving Mother Earth.
To save the human race.
Our Star Blazers.

Remember that show? we sure do, it was one of our fav cartoons growing up.

Now after years of waiting its finally coming to the big screen, but only in Japan – and no this isn’t the Disney version that we were promised years ago.

Still the trailers and footage now avail (in Japanese) look AWESOME. No great footage on the wave motion gun yet, and no we don’t see the gamelons…but it’s StarBlazers people!

oohh and just in case you’ve forgotten what the original show looked like:

and oh yeah the WAVE MOTION GUN – sort of like the Death Star’s main weapon but ship based.

Dynamite Kills Buck Rogers at issue #12 – Stalls shipping final issue June 17, 2010

We’ve been a fan of Dynamite Entertainment’s Buck Roger revival since the very first issue….actually no we weren’t.

But the series did grow on us and we have looked forward to each new issue to see which way the plot would go.

The last issue we reviewed — #11 – Buck takes on the man on the moon. In issue #10 Buck fights a dude that looks like Hawkman. In #9 he fights the airlords of Han.

In issue #8, Buck loses his ship — again but this time to a nuclear blast underneath the Earth.

Now we find out that issue #12 is the last issue.

That SUCKS.

This comic has more room, more potential and it’s just now hitting its stride. We still don’t know so much about Buck’s past and there is more to see in his future.

But the geniuses that run Dynamite Entertainment apparently think this comic has no legs..so they cut Buck off at the knees.

It was a fun run while it lasted…

But where is this final issue?

WHERE IS BUCK ROGERS #12???

It was supposed to be out on May 26th but never actually shipped. So to add insult to injury, Buck Rogers is canceled by Dynamite and then they shaft the fans by not shipping the final issue (yet? or ever???)

Really?? NO WAAAAY.

This comic book is all about one thing – the destruction of New Krypton.

No we didn’t see this coming. After two years of following the New Krypton saga, we’ve grown fond of the place.

New Krypton/Kandor has been part of the Superman universe for what 40 years or more at this point? and now it’s GONE.

Unbelievable.

And all destroyed by Luthor/Lane via Reactron — killer of Supergirl’s dad too – now killer of her mom and Kandor itself.

We’re still in shock.

Ok after 11 episodes (with this week’s Hearts and Minds) we still don’t know what the V’s want with us.

I don’t think we’re just food for them this time around.

With the Live Aboard program, we know see that the V’s like sticking a whole lot of needles in humans – sure that could be some kind of food thing or is it something else?

We just don’t know. And we also have yet to see a completely unskinned V either – in full Lizard get up.

Interesting episode though overall, though we have no idea why Anna didn’t put humans on the shuttle instead of the bones. After all, she has no regard for human life so why not put humans on the shuttle?

There wasn’t a V Super Soldier in the original show was there?

Holy crow but that’s one powerful warrior – no wonder the regular V’s just say that they are at peace!

Also really interesting to see how the soldier class could see heartbeats and sniff out their targets.

Doesn’t look like guns will take those lizards down either.

Cade Skywalker isn’t a Jedi

He isn’t a Sith either.

He is what the Force made him – or so he says.

This issue we get to see Cade unleash his Dark Side and his Light Side – yeaah it was cheesy that he used the light to save the Zeltron Delilah Blue – but also VERY VERY cool.

Cade is not a total stim junkie – he does have the heart of Jedi – and the power of the Sith within him.

Ohh and there’s more in this issue too isn’t there? Emperor Fel’s daughter is captured by the Sith!! how did that happen?

We really like Dark Horse’s Star Wars one-shots.

These are 1 issue stories – no need to buy multiple issues to get the whole story.

The latest one-shot – Purge – the Hidden Blade – is a basic but fun story.

And oh yeah the artwork by Chris Scalf is AMAZING – its a neat waterbrush kinda of effect that is soo different than what we’re used too and really a treat for the eyes.

The end of this story – is Vader disappointing the Emperor – not a terribly dramatic twist – but a fun read for sure.
